We can't seem to do anything right. 1-4 up at half time and just about scramble a draw.

I feel sorry for Rob Elliot but I'm not sure I trust him for a transfer window. His team only shows up for one half.

Steven Fletcher rolling back the years with a bit of class for a not entirely deserved win.

Wigan were good, until the final third. They scored with their only shot on target so can't complain really.

Christ, we are bad enough without all these refs doing their utmost to help the opposition out

10 clean sheets in our last 12 including 7 in a row. Blimey. Even game up until our opener but 2-0 flattered Cambridge in the end. Someone is going to take an absolute pasting soon.

Disastrous first half from us. Side selection was odd and at 1-4 down it should have been over. Credit to Caldwell he made the changes early and earnt us a point from a game we should have lost.

Mad game that. Fully deserved to be getting hammered at half time, we were abysmal and Crawley exploited that. Then we made changes, Vince Harper was superb and Crawley just couldn't cope.
Probably could have won it but for a superb save at the end but I'll take a point.

Exeter the ref may have cost us the game. Today though, whilst he was an absolute joke, we can’t really have any complaints.

We were absolutely atrocious

Thought we were deserved winners in the end, not the levels we've played in the last few games, but to be expected given the schedule, both goals we scored were untidy but you take them.

Dan Agyei again excellent for us, two games in a row Crawley and Cambridge have left him 1v1 against defenders which he relishes.

Didn't think Cambridge were that bad, but they lacked a cutting edge and bravery going forward, the save from Keeley in the first few minutes from that corner was probably the games turning point because we really should've been a goal down and the game then becomes totally different.

Not sure what Morrison was doing for Cambridges second goal, he probably should've stayed down and his team mates shouldn't have given the ball away so cheaply.

7 clean sheets in a row in all comps, apparently a new club record.

Poor game at Shrewsbury but we battled to a point. Both teams had chances but was relatively low on quality throughout unsurprisingly.

Our injury situation also shows no sign of abating

Odimayo subbed off for Mccarron, who then got injured and was replaced by Baldwin, who was then subbed off injured!
Guiness Walker also limping around at the end so that takes us to EIGHTEEN YES EIGHTEEN EIGHT FUCKING TEEN out injured if no one of those make the Stevenage game.

Game devoid of any quality, draw probably a fair result which leaves us 3 unbeaten.

How Seb Stocksbridge manages to still be a league 1 referee astounds me. Didn't notice him for 65 minutes or so then has to get involved. Managed to give Northampton a goal kick when there wasn't a Shrewsbury player anywhere near the ball and everyone lining up for a corner. Booked Kayode for a foul despite being 10 yards away from the challenge after the ball broke to him (Pierre made the challenge which was questionable if it was a foul). Pierre then gets booked for a similar challenge so in theory should have been sent off, which would have been ridiculous. The foul for the Northampton goal was the softest challenge in a series for both teams over the previous couple of minutes. Eaves should have had a foul in arguably a more dangerous position.

A lot for both teams to do to get out of trouble, but now showing some fighting spirit.

Terrible game at Huddersfield, burton took a bearish lead from a deflection then spent the rest of the match time wasting and players going down with cramp and the ref seemed to just encourage it. Mad thing was we were forehand if they had put as much effort into playing rather than time wasting genuinely think they would have matched Northampton and beaten us easily.
So many players played absolutely terrible today I believe they think they are better than they are. No chance whatsoever of automatic if we don’t spend big in January we are crying out for a couple of decent strikers , the ones we currently have are shocking.

Yep we’ve got our list of baffling decisions from Stockbridge today too - the free kick that he gave that led to your goal is just never a free kick, the free kick that led to our goal wasn’t a free kick but Eaves could have had 4 in the 30 seconds before it etc etc. Just generally incompetent, the corner given as a goal kick was funny because we could see down our end Guthrie cleared it off our defender.

6 teams down the bottom lacking any sort of quality whatsoever really.

Even Ainsworth said about the free kick(s) that you should have had before your goal, but not the one actually given. I'm sure he just makes things up to get involved if things are meandering along.

As you say, just got to be less awful than 4 other teams. We've still got a lot to do to make up the 6 points to the safety line. Ainsworth very upbeat in his interview as always. The biggest thing so far is that we're not making as many catastrophic errors at the back, meaning we're in games now. Possibly due to the change in keeper 3 games ago.

Nolan has a big job to do given your injury list. Like us it'll be about points and not performances right up to the end of the season.

Aaron Pierre was excellent today I thought, really drove you on, must make a huge difference as well

Until Ainsworth came in there would have been a queue of people around the stadium willing to drive Pierre to his next club. He's really stepped up and getting back to somewhere near the player we had first time round. Arguably MOTM the last 2 games, and looks so much more comfortable in a back 3.

Good old fashioned physical battle between Pierre and Eaves today.

Mansfield played really well in that first half, Reading had one chance where admittedly they split us open down the middle and scored but we’ve otherwise dominated.

Suprisingly even dominated the ball we are at 65%

Evened up in the second half but Stags the better side overall although did lack that cutting edge and will feel very harshly done by losing that. To be fair to Reading they had two chances and took em both so clinical, similar to what we did against Wigan back in October.

The celebrations by Reading at the end of the game speaks volume to what happened on the pitch, they went mental, and coming away with three points against the odds when Cloughball visits who can blame them!

One of the worst refs in the league. The competition is stiff at the moment but I still think he is up there for the #1 villain.

It’s just utterly baffling half the time with him

EDIT - not half the time, all the time

Should’ve got something and for large periods the better side, but we’ve got folk here that won’t be next season (akins being one / though i love his effort commitment and what’s he’s done for us) who’s mistake led to the winner, despite his set up for our goal.

Had we better options uptop we’d be closer to the playoffs but of course don’t have the finances.

Whereas small fry to some here, well have close to a million after the sale of DKD and swan in august and the cup run which will give us the best part of £300k minimum we can go out there and strengthen and consolidate.

We’ve done brilliantly this season so far to date.

Fully deserved 3pts for orient today, even game until the first goal and after that I never thought we’d get back into it, one chance in the first half which we should have scored from but other than that we was very lacklustre, we’re just so easy to score against.

Thought Orient were ok, not the Orient of last season but decent enough, interesting to see what business they do in January.

As for us, I’ve lost total faith in monk to get us where we need to be, his in game management is appalling and predictable, monk out!

Nice to get another winner in the last minute. Wigan giving the Scottish messiah all the time in the world to bring the ball down, steady himself and fire into the corner. Not the cleanest strike in the world, didn't seem to deflect in and crept in at the near post. Wigan offered absolutely nothing except for their goal and their 1 shot on goal shows this. Their pressing and energy, switching the play and running at us caused no end of problems but they didn't have a clue what to do with it where it mattered most.

Good results elsewhere meaning we end the year 2nd place. Lovely.

Sorry but are you just dim? It was 2-1 and had a blatant penalty ignored. Everyone on your forum says it’s a stonewall pen.

That makes it 2-2, but we lost. It may have cost us the game. What is incorrect about that statement?

Let me guess, it wasn’t a penalty? There’s bias, and then there’s you.
