No because there is nothing at stake as there is no relegation. It'll also come to a point when people will question the superiority of the sides in the competition vs those that are not in it. It's accepted that the Champions league features the best sides in Europe. An invite only competition does not guarantee that.
Additionally how long would it be wanted by the majority of the sides in the competition? Liverpool are barely more than a midtable side in the premier league at the moment. How are their fans, and say fans of Man Utd going to like seeing their sides majorly dicked for the majority of the season, likely being in the bottom pile of clubs year on year, eventually to become the laugihng stock of the competition? Remember there are no minnows invited, no champions of minor leagues to walk over and bully so you feel as though you're a top team.
How quickly would a league with no relegation become dull for the vast majority of sides when they have nothing to play for because essentially there's only a select few that can realistically win. The criticisms of the premier league that only a select elite are able to win it (this anomaly year aside) would be magnified in a European super league. And it wouldn't favour English sides.

For me, this is a competition designed for glory supporters who want to be part of the select 'best clubs' competing with other select 'best clubs' with the obvious downside for most teams that those fans would quickly become sick of their chosen teams diminished status when theyre no longer winning anything or even coming close.

Its only rumoured that it would be no relegation right? correct me if I am wrong on that. I agree with alot of your points and i am not saying I am massively for the idea. I just feel as though football has to progress and with the top 5 leagues in Europe becoming somewhat predictable this could potentially be the way.

More than that though once it gets put into place no doubt without the consideration of the fans I am certain that the majority of supporters will enjoy it

Just because some of these clubs you mentioned are having poor seasons currently doesn't mean that will always be the case.

The real football educated on here like moi, would like to say the European Super League would be the biggest pile of shit known to man.

The Champions League is boring as fuck now and only plastic fans like Saltire and Gdragon would watch that shit.

There are 1000' and 1000's of real football fans who can't afford to go the game now never mind away at Milan one week and Barcelona the next.

It's just not feasible and will never happen.................forget it let it go.

Said plenty of times I prefer the Europa than the CL, particularly when Liverpool win it for the fourth time. ;)

More matches?!! How?

European competitions should be short and simple!

That's why I'm defending changes in domestic leagues. Removing direct promotion and relegation in top tiers, for example.

One idea for Champions League and Europa League...
CL+EL: 256 Clubs (Now around 230 clubs)

Country Coefficient new formula:
Total Points Gained per season/Number of teams in European Competions.

Reducing the gap between countries with many teams in Europe and countries with few teams.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: 48 Clubs
- Only one qualifying round.
- Bottom 2 clubs in group stage are eliminated from european competitions. Stoping CL and EL cross-over in advanced stages.

Country Ranking Allocation:
- 1-3: 4 berths; 4-10: 3 berths; 11-15: 2 berths and 16-20: 1 berth

Qualifying-round: 32 Clubs -> 16 clubs to Europa League R64
Group Stage: 16 Clubs (1-3: 3 clubs; 4-10: 1 club) + 16 QR Winners= 32 Clubs; 8 Groupsx4 clubs
R16-R8-R4-R2

EUROPA LEAGUE: 208 Clubs+16 Clubs (from CL qualifying-round)
- NO Group Stage. Europa League should be a straight forward competition. I think this will generate more interest, even when small clubs are envolved.

Country Ranking Allocation
1-20: 4 berths; 21-30: 5 berths; 31-40: 4 berths; 41-50: 3 berths and 51-54: 2 berths

QR1: 104 clubs
QR2: 64+32=96 clubs
QR3: 48+48= 96 clubs
R64: 48+16 (Champions League QR)=64 clubs
R32-R16-R8-R4-R2

Overall Country Ranking Berhs in European Competitions (CL+EL):
1-3: 8 berths ; 4-10: 7 berths; 11-15: 6 berths; 16-30: 5 berths; 31-40: 4 berths; 41-50: 3 berths snd 51-54: 2 berths

In fairness, your suggestion to make the Europa League into a straightforward knockout competition is eminently sensible.
Your thread-starter suggestion is still bonkers though.

I know stopping direct Pro/Rel is a stange concept. I was against this system for all my life. However this year I changed my mind.

And looking into the future I think is best changing the system, keeping Pro/Rel but with different rules.

For exemple. I'm from Portugal, our Premier League is weak, one reason is only Lisbon and Porto are major urban áreas, all other cities in Portugal are below 150k.

This season we have 3 clubs from Madeira Island, 17% of all clubs in Premier League but only 2,5% of portuguese population or 250k.

That's why 2 clubs from Madeira Island have attendances below ´2,5k per game. This is awful for a Top Tier competition at all levels.

How clubs can be competitives with so poor gate attendance? When Benfica has a average above 45k... This is a huge gap between Top 3 clubs and the rest of the League!
