Simple answer is that only Richie Wellens and Gary Bowyer (and I guess Doyle himself) know this.

As for next week, Fryers (CB) went off injured and Lydon got sent off. Our squad is now severely being tested after a long Christmas and New Year run of games.

I’m going next week, not particularly looking forward to it now.

Welcome to our world.

McCartan loves a goal at Swindon.

Really poor game with a lack of quality from both sides. We couldn't pass the ball and our final ball into the box was appalling.
I hate the way Bowyer sets us up. After changing to 442 in the second half against Morecambe which lead to the winner youd think hed go with that but he changes to something completely different with a 451. I feel sorry for Vaughan with the way we play and I'm not surprised Doyle doesnt want to come back.
Sounds bad that I want Bowyer out when we're in the position we're in. I'd want him gone even if we finished in a promotion place. It's awful to watch and you can tell the players are being held back. Weve got a very decent squad for this level and should be performing much better.

Can’t argue much with that. Very poor fare from both sides.

Doyle would have made no difference today - we created very little. We’re suffering from Grant playing as a CB instead of being the starter of attacking moves.

Poor game. Bradford were pants. If they had any ambition they could have won that with us having half a team out.

No wonder their fans are moaning about Bowyer having to watch that turgid crap week in week out.

Pleased with a point.
No doubt if you had won you'd have been exulting a great game between 2 good sides. We've had so many players out all season who are now coming back but have just got on with it. Sounds like you are already making excuses for preparing to fall down the league. We must be so pants that you have outplayed us twice.

You draw too many games to get into the autos. And that’s not because your squad isn’t capable - it’s because your manager hasn’t got the balls to let them play.

I’m quite happy being 3 points top of the league thanks.

Come May we will be higher than you. There again, so will Crewe, Exeter, Plymouth and Cheltenham.

Bearing in mind Swindon are the only team in the division to have had injuries, my statement is rather bold. Better keep your money however as your team may need your financial help to replace your strikers in the next couple of weeks and who knows, you might even get some more injuries.

So you're not backing up your statement then. Shocker.

I think for both Bradford and Swindon fans the sooner both clubs know, the better. Bradford fans have already stated that Doyle isn’t going to fit into the way Bradford play so perhaps a permanent deal works best for both parties? That way we get the man we want and you get cash plus a high earner off the wage list which means you can recruit as and where you need.

We have over the last 2 days released 3 players so perhaps clearing the decks for the deal to be done? Roll on Tuesday anyway!

Take away the usual, and understandable, fans dick waving - do you want him back and do you think he’d produce for you?

According to Alan Nixon -

Swindon. Going hard in for Doyle. Willing to pay more than last time in deal with Bradford. Plus poss bonuses.

Hardly surprising news but hopefully we’ll know more this week.

Everyone and his dog knows Doyle would be a flop at Bradford - nobodies fault, just don’t suit each other.

Can’t see any other outcome than an improved loan deal for Bradford, leaving Doyle as a free agent in June.

Improved loan deal? Makes sense for you to just buy him?

Unless the bonuses stipulate a large cash bonus for us, then I would see no point in loaning him back out.

If you want him, pay him the dollar he wants and pay us £150k-£200k. Simple as.

Can’t Bradford simply sell him to you? Though Doyle I may well prefer an extended loan and then a signing bonus when he is a free agent.

Again, nobody knows what his initial loan agreement allowed for.

Apart from the now-known recall clause, the other details are a bit of a mystery. We may well want to buy him, Bradford may well want us to buy him - Doyle may well prefer to just see out his agreed season long loan which leaves him free to choose in June.

As it stands, I reckon, Bradford will get an improvement on the loan deal but miss out on any possible transfer fee. I’d expect us to end up paying his entire salary with a payment to Bradford if we get promoted.

That, for me, just simply isn’t good enough.

Clinging on to a promotion bonus when we all know you’ll drop like a fly in the months to come, is beg on toast.

The ball is well and truly in our court. We’ve paid the vast majority of his wages so far, so whether you take over his contract until the end of the season or not, it still doesn’t leave us in any better position. If this was the case and Swindon are unwilling to negotiate a fee, I’d much prefer to recall him and see what happens - which is what I think will happen.

Would I want him back? 100% yes. I never wanted him to go but can totally understand the reasons why he left and fair play to him for doing what he’s done. Anyone with the opportunity of essentially signing the top scorer in the league would do so, if we then don’t play to his strengths given what he’s proved this year then Bowyer is a bigger fool than I first thought.
Let’s be honest and say we have you over a barrel to an extent, Swindon’s promotion with him is a lot more likely than without. However much you want to play it down he’s almost single handedly got you to the top of the league and you need him more than we do, so if he’s to go, financially I hope we rinse you the way Huddersfield did us twelve months ago with Jack Payne. Alternatively we keep him, try utilise his form and this idea he’ll crumble and totally stop scoring is just OTT online talk.

You haven’t paid the vast majority of his wages. We’re paying £3500 of his £5000 per week wages.

I know you lot are desperate to think we will fall apart without him. It’s more likely his return will mess you lot up. Having an unhappy player mooning about the place, paying all his wages preventing you from recruiting much in this window, changing what is, albeit poor viewing, a successful way of playing.

And we’ll have the £3500 per week to pay for another striker.

You’re wrongly informed, then. The ratio of wages your paying is the opposite to what you think.

You’re paying pittance for him - somewhere in the region of £1,500 per week.

Having an unhappy player mooning about the place,
Do you seriously believe that? He is a professional who's street cred is currently sky high. His contract ends in June when he can take the highest offer, probably his final grand pay day. Do you seriously think he will mope about and allow his value to plummet or might he just work his socks to carry on showing why he should continue to be well paid?
