Swindon vs Rochdale

You can imagine that there will be goals in this game with Swindon on the up and Rochdale always a capable attacking side in League One. Swindon surely won't be near the drop at the end of the season? Rochdale are always a threat under Keith Hill.

Rochdale beat us in the FA Cup just a few weeks ago in Ling's first game. We seem to be improving though and hopefully without the pressures that come with being in the bottom 4 the lads can relax a bit more and we can push on.

Two week breaks did us no favours last season and I always expect a Keith Hill side to turn up well drilled and difficult to beat.

I'm backing us to edge a tight game 2-1, Obika and Ajose.

Goals? I wish we scored a lot of goals... 7 blanks in our last 12, not good enough.

Although one of the nearer matches for me, it's not one that I normally look forward to and despite us beating a poor looking Swindon team only a few weeks ago at home, we seldom win here (last year amazed me) . I'm sure Ling has turned things around since the FA Cup game, and I fully expect us to lose.

Sadly, there seems to be a real sense of gloom surrounding the club at present...maybe it's Hilly's strange team selections, or tactics or our sheer inability to take set plays correctly...some of our dead ball delivery last week was the stuff of 11 year olds . Who coaches the players on this???

That said, given my prediction of a loss, it would be just like Hilly to pull some rabbit out of the hat and grab a win.

So... head says 3-0 loss. Heart hopes for a 2-1 win.

O'Sullivan cost us dear today. Send him back to Blackburn, he is a liability. Almost got sent off at home to Vale too, was subbed after just 38 mins. 11v11 we would have won easily today. Swindon were awful.

Great win. We're not playing that well at home at the moment but happy to take 3 points despite being below par. Hopefully our fortunes are turning around.

He wasn't, silly studs up challenge which cost us no doubt today.

From the away end it looked a nailed on red card, so I honestly think Hilly should be withdrawing his comments. They make him sound like a man running out of ideas and lashing out at an easy target. No doubt it'll be the fans next in line for an attack!!

My only gripe against the ref was that I felt we had a decent shout for a penalty on Vincenti...but other than that, he did what he had to do.

I'd be surprised if we saw O' Sullivan play for us again after 3 very poor appearances, one sending off, one withdrawal to prevent a sending off, and one anonymous game against Bury where he was subbed because he didn't do anything.. Highly rated he may well be, but if he can't keep his calm then he won't ever make it in the game.

Strangely, we did better with 10 men than with 11 apart from a 10 minute period where Swindon tore us apart.
Silly of us to give Gladwin so much room...he has always been class when I've seen him.

Hey ho. Short trip back from this one. Was actually surprised at the relatively high number (for us) who travelled.

As usual, I'll be making the 10 hour round trip next week. C'mon Hilly...lets get back to No Fear eh?
