We're all just waiting for Landsdown to go full time Tory rugger bugger. Watch it all fall apart UTG:ds:
Keep waiting tent dweller! :)
What was it your supposedly '6th richest club owner in the world' is doing this summer? Oh yeah, some new curtains and having the carpets cleaned.
Pride eh!

Pitiful... I'll agree with the second part of your post though. Swindon and Cheltenham are irrelevant. Muff and Exeter have each other.
Looks like we're stuck with each other.
We haven't been 'stuck' with you lot for 17 years Aber. Long my it continue. :hypo:

Don't bring us into this parochial spat. Our accent isn't sufficiently twattish to qualify as West Country.

Apologies for creeping back to the L1 forum!

I think we have the potential to be a huge club. With a city just shy of 300k, and a catchment area of the south hams and the whole of Cornwall, we have the potential to be huge.

However, we are a city who's football team has had a few shite years and we are in a situation where a lot of people "support" the big boys in the Prem. A lot of Cornwall is also more Rugby than footy, with Truro being the only "decent" club. We did take 35k to Wembley last season however and sold out 18k at Home Park against Liverpool(with temporary seats) and could of done many times over. We averaged 10k last season, our highest since the Championship.

With the Grandstand being redone for half of next season our capacity will be about 10k from January onwards. I think we could be of a similar club to Swansea if we ever got to the promise land.

I suggest you tell that to your Town End ultras. :animatedf::P1:

You could always buy a tent like Abers' mob. ;)
Are you still building this?

You don't really count anyway Dan. I just mentioned you to cheer you up, being mentioned with all these bigger clubs like r*vers and Argyle, maybe even Exeter.
I will laugh if FGR are above you though, remembering how you celebrated winning the league against us in November a few years ago. ;)
Gloucestershire, not Wiltshire
Swindon shirt, that's all there is to say!

Liverpool - Family of Scousers and thankfully all our living bluenoses are down South hiding in embarrassment at a poor life choice they made.
Rangers - First ever football top was an old school McEwan's Lager Rangers top and we wear Rangers tops for six a side.
Barnsley - Love a team that develops young players and Barnsley have done a fantastic job of it in recent years.
Torquay - Was the best awayday in the Football League till they decided to get relegated, still have a soft spot for them mind.
Tranmere - Purely because anyone in Birkenhead whose supported them over the last 25 years over the other two Merseyside clubs has made a brave yet foolish life choice. The amount of misery this club have caused their fans is absolutely staggering in that time. Hopefully they'll be back where they belong one day though!

'COUGH'! ;) Good effort.
Obviously us. Rovers play at a tent site and blatantly can't be proud as their attendance at Wembley was pitiful, Swindon are just shit, Plymouth are essentially French and Exeter are far too posh to care! :)

Come on CU, you never even mentioned Torquay (or Yeovil for that matter)

My cousins are from Swindon, and they have serious twattish accents :2thumb:

You can always disown them CG.

The last time I saw either of them was 15 years ago. My parents went to the younger one's wedding, just outside Swindon, whilst I went for a few bevvies in the town centre.

Ah it would be so good to play the gargoyles and gas again next season. Hopefully we stuff Blackpool, we need some decent local matches next year. The thought of having to play Forest Green is disturbing.

Well doneTrapdoor.
What's the story with Watkins then? A fair few Championship clubs, including ourselves, have been linked. Can you keep him if you win at Wembley?

We dont really need the money so we are in a pretty solid position when it comes to financial negotiations. The lad is quality and will undoubtedly have a great career at a high level.

If we win he may well stay with us for a little while longer, he's still developing and seems to enjoy being at City. If we go up to L1 and got offered 1.5 million we probably wouldn't sell him, 3-4 mil and I think we would have to.

Fair comment Trapdoor and I hope you're right as he looks a real prospect.
The sad thing is that Championship clubs wouldn't baulk at £3M / £4M for a prospect, that's how imbalanced the game is nowadays.
I wish you well.

Following on from the irrational hatred thread (and to keep things moving over the close season).

Which teams apart from your own, do you have a soft spot for? (at any level or nationality)

I will start with;

Truro City
Spalding United
Bochum
Rangers
Torquay

Come On You Tinners..!!

Nice to meet you, Camborne. I must confess I don't get to Truro matches often.... we usually go to watch Pirates at the Mennaye.

If I have a soft spot for any team other than my own though, I would have to admit to having a liking for Manchester City. I don't know why. I've just seen some of their games on TV and find myself hoping they'll win.

What first attracted you to the richest club in England?

Nice to meet you too Cornish. Had things been different, I could have been a Charlton fan as well, as it was the nearest ground to me when I lived in Welling. But the Gills are still Kent's only league side, so that was that really. I did finally make it to the Valley on Easter Monday, bet we'll gloss over that. I do go to Truro sometimes, though not as often as when the were in the SW and Western leagues.
