Our defence has been laughable and tactically he's played a part (the 5-3-2 system is wank) but I look at the goals we concede and 90% of the time it just comes down to individuals for me.

Take last night in the first half, how do you account for our left back constantly going for a wander and Huntington gifting them the ball like that? Collectively the defence need a massive confidence boost.
He needs to stick with a back 4. Constantly changing is good for absolutely nobody.

Agree but i'd much rather see Earl play on Saturday ahead of Hughes.

Potter got the most difficult job but making it look easy. Bit more developing as the season goes on and promotion is a cert.

Football fans at their fickle best again this, he was the best thing going last season.
Load of bollocks, he had a great first season last time out and lost two of his best players and had pennies to reinvest yet Tom thought they could well finish top six, as did I. He’s a good manager Neil, not sure who else Preston would get that could do a better job than what he has done so far and what he’ll continue to do if their owner isn’t an idiot.

What's a load of bollocks? I fully agree with you

Does seem a bit odd Preston have plummeted to currently being the worst team in the champ after their good work last year.

Personally think Neil is a great manager and will turn it around, can't see Preston going down. I'd say the problem is with their tight owners, not reinvesting in the squad when selling key players. Been really unlucky with injuries too.

No one. As per, the only suggestions to replace him have done fuck all... those two at Lincoln... ex-players like Ainsworth, Appleton & Alexander... Get fucked.

Luckily the people who seemingly want a change in management are limited to the usual dick heads on PNE online.

Even if this season is an underwhelming bottom half finish, in the long term, Neil is our man.

Neil will be fine. We are developing an annoying habit of gifting victories to teams who haven’t won in an age. We kept Steve McClaren in a job by rolling over for QPR in August. We’ll do the same for Neil at Preston.

Tom and other Preston fans calling for his head, not your comments I agreed
I called for his head once yesterday when I lost my head at half time, the players didn’t look interested first half and I couldn’t see a way back, I was wrong.

What worries me is that he has a habit of doing this in his second full season, I like the guy so I really hope he can turn us around. Just not hopeful at the moment.

So a fortunate red card transformed you from Neil out to Neil in, as Blademan said that’s football fans at their fickle finest.

No, I overreacted at half time in the heat of the moment. I was never actually Neil out Just was incredibly pissed off and spoke without thinking. Christ Jordan mate have you never in your life had any sort of emotional overreaction?

Interesting from Bielsa on what he's seen in the Championship so far. Says Middlesbrough are strong, a team who you "could be scared of", but likes Preston's style as much as anyone's - despite their league position.

Ok.....

Let's be a bit more positive than that, only a point off play offs, would be in there had we not switched off for last 5 mins last night.

Overall we're where I expected us to be, just need to get a more settled defence instead of changing it every game and try to avoid the injuries we had last season.

I'd be happier if he wasn't picking the 3rd best keeper at the club as number 1

Are you a fan of Luhukay, Walkley? He’s never really come across well to me but with the squad he’s fielding he seems to be doing a decent job, perhaps planning for the long term as well playing younger players like Penney and Baker rather than the likes of Abdi and Winnall who I’d guess will be on their way when their contracts are up?

Jury remains out, Winnall back next week by all accounts and will get a chance.

I'm pleased he's blooded some young uns, Penney and Thorniley are good players, rest will improve with experience.

Shame Hurst and Clare didn’t stick around, your academy has a few decent players, not sure why Carlos didn’t give a few a go. Baker is supposed to be decent as well isn’t he.

Clare was stupid, Hirst there was a lot of fucking stuff going on behind the scenes, funny how his dad's mate picks him up for next to nowt, be at Leicester soon.

Baker isn't bad but raw as fuck.

He's doing a very good job, had no money to play with and has had to rely on kids. I think the cririsicm of Dawson is harsh.

Is it fuck harsh, the kid has soft wrists and can't catch or punch, poor movement.

By very good job you mean average, we are on the same points as last season without the injuries

Few errors have taken us away from automatics, though I wouldn't expect us to be consistent for the automatics this season anyway.

Predicted we'd be a play-off side and I think we'll be on course for that come the end of the season. Not taken many hidings which is good, players stepping up after transfers gone out which is good.

Still waiting on the Danish prodigy (or so we thought :£) Emiliano Marcondes to turn up for the first team this season, hopefully once he finally comes back we can kick on even more and not rely on Maupay and to a lesser extent Watkins.

Your away form has surprised me, no wins in six with four defeats I think I saw, that has to change for you to challenge.

Our home form is costing us with 2 wins from six, had we beaten West Brom and Hull where he were wasteful in front of goal we could/would/should be sat on 23 points but we remain consistently inconsistent.

We’ve not been too bad (Derby away aside), but conceded last minute equalisers to Villa and Leeds, drew with Stoke down to a farcical goalie error and lost to Blackburn largely down to another goalie error (had far too many of those this season).

Should have at least 6 points more from goalie fuck ups alone this year. We’ve also thrown away more points from winning positions than any other team (in all English leagues) this season.

Hopefully it’ll pick up and improve.
