As much as I can't condone or support LR's googling, to be fair to the guy, I think he does raise a fair few valid points.

Back during Google War 1 with TPIR my own defense for using google for that was basically that it was impossible to police, so I assumed it wouldn't be policed at all. We'd all agreed not to use google, but I always felt that wouldn't be enough. I'd chosen to refrain from it and just thought that I'd rather go out while playing honestly than win through googling when we said we wouldn't... but I knew it wouldn't be the same for everybody, and there have been plenty of points since where it's looked like people have googled.

LR admitted to it, but I don't think for a second that he's the only one who's done it. Ok, so he was in a spot where it was obvious so we could wonder what'd have happened had it not been so blatant, but the fact remains that I still think people are sat there right now knowing that they are just as guilty.

I feel sorry for James on the matter as it's something that he can't really do much about. Part of me wants to say he should have designed the game entirely in a way where google would be impossible, but that'd take fucking ages to work out logistically so I can't hold it against him. He chose trust over amending the rules and it hasn't worked, which is just depressing.

So moving forward... well, we could say lets not use google and hope that things are different now, but I don't think it'll change things. We'll just have to move on and if people want to win a forum game through cheating and while completely disrespecting not just James, but all of the other players who have put a lot of time into this game, be it on their head. But as I said, I'd rather be eliminated while trying to play the right way.
