Ta for the bump of this thread townsendaround. Not that anyone cares but I did go to Bedworth that following Monday. Bedworth deservedly won 2-0 to earn promotion to the Southern League Premier.

I visited Top Field (home of Hitchin Town) on a Monday night at the start of December for a game versus Paulton Rovers. Top Field is probably my favourite ground in English football, it's incredibly ramshackle with wooden terracing and just about everything clad in yellow and green. The Canaries are having a good season as they look to get themselves promoted to the National League North/South and saw off a poor Paulton side 2-0, playing some fluent football and using the full width of the pitch. It should have been more in all honesty with 3 guilt edged chances being missed.

I was going to stick this on the groundhopping thread but couldn't find it (!), so I thought I'd put it here. I spent the weekend watching the contenders for the (former Sussex County League) title, and here's the first article, following Eastbourne Town and entitled 'Bringing George Michael to Wick.' The Horsham derby will follow tomorrow.

If you want to move it to the Groundhopping thread please go ahead- at least that'll show me where it is!

Nice one. 111 in total for me, with the trip to Hungerford Saturday just gone. Would say it's 25 or so in the league, 5 or 6 foreign and the rest non league. Hopefully be at 120 or so by the end of 2016.

I had the fun of going to watch the Ossett Derby yesterday, as I couldn't be arsed trying to get to Gloucestershire on a Bank Holiday to watch Southport get battered (which has turned out to be a good decision!), and I quite fancied the luxury of being able to have a couple of pints whilst watching the match

. Town had started the season the better, but Albion did most of the attacking and were 2-0 up at half-time courtesy of a good bit of individual skill with a rocket of a finish, and a calmly struck penalty. Second half was Albion sat back a bit but looked dangerous on the break, and should have added at least another couple to the score when their number 9 went clean through twice and seemed to stumble both times! Town offered very little, only forcing Albion's keeper into one notable save.

Final score: Ossett Town 0-2 Ossett Albion
Att: 448

Considering a trip to Knaresborough Town tomorrow, they're playing Silsden. The main attraction is of course the chance to drink beer in Knaresborough before / after the match.

Not strictly non-league but should have 4 games in 4 days coming up soon.

Thursday 1 December - QPR v Wolves
Friday 2 December - Forest v Newcastle
Saturday 2 December - Oxford City v Ebbsfleet
Sunday 3 December - Millwall v Braintree.

If I manage all of them, it'll take me up to 122 grounds.

I was one of the 634 fans at Whitchurch Alport FC. I was very surprised at the quality of the match. City of Liverpool FC came from behind to win 2-1 after tired legs seemed to produce many errors. 40-year old Steve Jones played No 7 for Whitchurch and had a good first half, but legs went somewhat second half, but he played 90 minutes. Very good advert for NWCL1.

Done most of the Cornish grounds in the SWPL, before Truro moved up the leagues. Some further afield as well on various FA Vase runs (Tuffley Rovers and Banstead for example)

I swerved our horrendous sounding 0-0 draw at Woking and instead went to watch a top of the table clash in NCEFL Division One between AFC Emley and Hall Road Rangers. Unfortunately this was also a dour 0-0 draw! The main highlights were Hall Road hitting the post early on, forcing a decent save from Emley's keeper with a curling effort from 20 yards, and somehow missing two open goals in 3 seconds. Emley seemed to put most of their chances well over or well wide. There was no fannying out of tackles from either side though, which was helped by a referee who didn't seem to want to book anyone! The attendance was 206, impressive for that level and for a small village team.
