Pointless club. Their aim as a club is just to play Manchester United, after that they won't know what to do. Another new ground for me as we travel to FC United; hopefully they don't sing too many irritating Man Utd songs. It's segregated as well :mell:
3 points would feel good though for our final game in the Conference North :gr:
Til 2017-18 season

You won't be playing Solihull Moors :bdick:

Or us!

Well done on promotion, very pleased to see a well run friendly club like you get promoted.

I hope have taken note what happens to smaller promoted teams like Moors,..... Teflon relegated the next season, us two seasons on and probably Guiseley one season too. Barrow survived this year as their multi millionaire owner ploughed loads of dosh in went fulltime and brought in a team of monsters. Most teams in NL have much bigger budgets and bigger more physical players. Dont think the standard is that good it isnt, just a lot of highly physical games which take their toll on smaller squads like ours, it was injuries that did for us this year, not the quality of the opponents. You need to be very big physical OR play very good football to survive a while, it can be done.

Solihull Moors fan calling another team pointless, quite the lack of self-awareness. FCUM are actually older than Solihull Moors.....

Looking forward to the new season; rooting for Stockport County away first game of the season.

Massive attendance in place if it pulled of.

I was completely wrong with my view of FC United. Great supporters and we were very well received by them as, our supporters went onto the pitch after the game. Play was stopped for about five minutes, as about 20 Fcum fans went onto the pitch to protest about some problems at board level; apparently, if it wasn't for their Fa Cup run, they would have been really struggling for money this season.
As for next season, I know that it's going to be tough but I am optimistic. Our side is big and physical with 4 of our 5 defenders being well over 6 foot - Liam Daly, Gaz Dean, Michael Nottingham and Theo Streete. Sides promoted from the North haven't done too well in recent seasons, but Dover and Braintree are part time and look where they are. Still got one more game before the end of the season as we play Birmingham at St Andrews in the Birmingham Senior Cup Final.

This league will be ridiculously competitive next season, looking at it I think the league will shape up as:

Title contenders

Fylde/Ferriby
Halifax
Harrogate
Salford

Fighting for play offs:

Kidderminster
Boston
Nuneaton
Tamworth
Alty
Chorley
Darlo
County

Possibly:

Alfreton
Telford

Then there's always a surprise package, maybe someone like FCUM, Curzon again or Stalybridge.

Harrogate must have a big squad to field two sides.

Totally correct, this is going to be one hell of a League next season with hopefully some really big crowds, really looking forward to the games against Alty, Halifax and Kidderminster as well as Darlo and our usual ding dong battles with £ylde. Looking at it I would be delighted to be in the hunt for a play off place.

Not if GMP had their say. We all tipped a >6000 crowd for their game v FCUM and it ended up at 4,700 in December with both sides doing badly at the time. FCUM got just 1100 tickets and couldn't sell them all

I'm hoping we finally get rid of Fylde in the playoffs - moving into their new ground next season and going full-time as well I believe.

You lot have done exceptionally well to keep hold of Stephenson. Will be interesting to see if you keep hold of everybody else.

I think we are in need of at least 5 new signings, like most we need a striker to support Darren Stephenson, the guy we loaned from you at the end of the season, Micah Evans, I didn't rate. Think we will keep hold of the nucleus of the squad and hopefully, now that Jansen has had the experience of a full season we will benefit from that. Must say have thoroughly enjoyed our away days at your place, in spite of the price, though of course the results might have added to the pleasure!

I can't see us getting another home game, we've been at home 3 seasons in a row first game. Looking forward to Darlo away, personally.

I'll take challenging for the play offs next season. Some fans expect us to bounce back immediately but I can't see it, I'd settle for just finding our feet this year.

I'm going to the Fylde v Harrogate game on Sunday. Can't say I know much about the playoff sides, who are favourites to go up out of the four?

I along with many other FCers were planning to do this game before you put prices up of £15 (in the Conf North??) to stand in an uncovered stand when its pissing down in December? I don't think so pal.

The play-offs are very open this year. Although Id gonna wager that the winner of Harrogate/Flyde game will be promoted.

I rather fancy Boston to be the winners, they are in a very good run of form. I would also prefer them out of the way also, as £ylde and Harrogete are easier trips.

Yeah we basically swapped rubbish players with us getting Field - he wasn't even making the 16 in the final month of the season.

I would probably swap ourselves and Kiddy. They've been on a decent run and have a set up in place, we've got to wait until Wembley's done to get anything sorted and have a last day hangover to sort out.

Says everything about how depressing this league is when fucking Salford, Fylde and Harrogate are favourites in a league with clubs like Stockport and Darlo

Id agree with that. For us it all depends on who (if anyone) we can hold on to and if what additions we make are of a good quality. If they are then I fancy us for a play-off spot.

"If we keep our good players and sign some better players then we'll do well"..... Cheers for the insight DSL :D

I had forgotten about Field, I think he played about 20 minutes in a League game and one County Cup game, not surprised he wasn't making your final 16.

Welcome.

A what?!

The Annual Conference North Piss up in a Random town or City attended by many of the posters on the sadly now defunct NonLeagueForum. I was led to believe a good few have migrated over here, so apologies. That must has sounded very bloody odd!

Going to be the toughest season we've had yet at this level I think. Need to survive until we get back to Gloucester, but it gets harder every year.

Ah ok. Unfortunately not. Hopefully with the competitive nature of the North next season more fans will join up.

Do you not expect to be moved South?

Wouldn't have thought there would be any movements this year following Leamington's loss yesterday. North and South have each lost 5 teams to promotion/relegation. I'd have thought it will be a straight swap with us, Halifax, Alty, Darlington and Salford going into the North and Welling, Poole, Hungerford, East Thurrock and H&R in the South?
