Still waiting for critics to produce a more accurate list, using all 92 league clubs only once.
Sometimes it is a bit more complicated as well, especially if you haven't played a local rival for a number of years. Not matter what Blackburn fans say, as an example, they played us more than Burnley in the 1970's, 80's and 90's, and the lads in the 70's especially would say the rivalry was between us and them. Wigan try and make out a rivalry but there is no history in that, and as such, they only register when we play them. As I said earlier, in the 1990's, we have some serious do's with wolves, stoke and port vale, even sheff utd, as we were playing each other often.Still waiting for critics to produce a more accurate list, using all 92 league clubs only once.
Everyone hates usI think if we were in the same league as Aldershot, Oxford and Swindon for any serious period of time (beyond a season or two) we would easily be bigger rivals with Aldershot. More local and the fact that Aldershot still hate us now, most the time Oxford (and particularly) Swindon don't care about us at all. Though us all being in the same league will never happen..
For me, it's a tough choice between Aldershot and Oxford. I've never cared about Swindon, I have no idea why some of our fans hate them so much, never understood it.
Well........................yes !!Everyone hates us
In Cornwall , there was quite a big Truro/Falmouth rivalry, which occasionally descended into fisticuffsWhat about non-League rivalries. I've heard of problems with Telford, Walsall and Nuneaton? But who are these rivalries with?
I'm (almost) hoping Carlisle get relegated so we can have the dingdong A2-M25-M1-M6 Carlisle-Dover derby again (except when Operation Stack is in force when you will have to find your own way through the dirt tracks of East Kent). Hope they make both games a Tuesday night, as well.
On the other hand, seeing Eastleigh and Pompey in the same division would be fun.
Also, the Wigan v Chorley one is a bit nastyIn Cornwall , there was quite a big Truro/Falmouth rivalry, which occasionally descended into fisticuffs

In 2050 you mean?Ourselves and Gillingham would be tasty if it ever occurred again.
My mum has hated Bolton for 57 years (Nat Lofthouse in the 1958 cup final apparently), not keen on Villa eitherInteresting thread.
Talking about non-local rivalries, apparently Bradford Park Avenue hate us due to our election to the Football League at their expense in 1970. Only heard this for the first time a couple of years ago but intriguing if they do hold that resentment 45 years on.
That made me chuckle. Apparently. lots of people supported the filth after munich, and have hated us for beating them in the FA Cup Final in the same year. Just shows how plastic the majority of their "supporters" are....btw it was 2-0 in the final and the filth were second best throughout the whole gameMy mum has hated Bolton for 57 years (Nat Lofthouse in the 1958 cup final apparently), not keen on Villa either
