I cant believe that. I mean the whole system is a bit flawed really. Someone might have had the best business plan in the world, and then gets fired in the first round as others team up on that person.

Surely he knows the plans, as he wants to make money out of it. Any idea how the winner last year is getting on?

Well, when I say no-one I mean no-one in the immediate process - i.e. Not Sugar, Claude or Brady, or any of his advisors. Of course someone in the production team must know what's going on to a degree. You say he wants to make money out of it, but the truth is he's made far more from the concept of the programme as a whole than any of his winners have made him! We've seen in previous years that some candidates have come completely unstuck with their business plans - Solomon a few years ago had a business plan of about 8 pages, two of which were just pictures of boats! I can't believe he would have even started the process if Sugar had known that was going to happen.

Last years winner is doing ok if you believe Twitter. Steady progress in a steady industry. Couple of the previous ones seem to be raking it in though.

Entertainment! Remember the year Jim got to the final four?

I also have a hard time believing Sugar doesn't know the business plans, but my mind might be swayed by the year that Tom Pellereau won it. He was terrible throughout the entire show - no ability to sell, pitch or haggle - but still won because he already had a product of value designed and on the market. His product was already public knowledge I guess.

I miss Margaret :( Jim was good fun, this being a particular highlight:

This show used to be much better, didn't it?

Can't understand the Courtney hate. He's a bit one toned and uncharismatic, but he runs an online business. Obviously doing well with it. He wins the tasks and does well. I thought the interviewers were being dead personal, attacking him, presumably because his business was pretty faultless

Yeah I think he's very good at what he does, he just doesn't come across that well on a personal level. Considering he sells online that's not the end of the world, but if he developed into a face-to-face businessman then he'd probably struggle. He'll do well for himself.

Alana is far better though.

OK, so how are previous winners doing ? I've never seen any sign of their products except that Dr Leah, who seems to be opening another clinic in London ?

Both performed quite well I thought but Alana is the much better prospect. I was amused that both Paul and Oliver thought that the final was "their time to shine" rather than thinking they needed to get behind their candidate. Lucky for Oliver and Alana his gamble paid off.

I think that Oliver is probably a very credible businessman. He's a bit dithery and what have you, but in a real life setting where he has more time and doesn't have loud Apprentice candidates shooting him down, he probably does well. It was a good idea to put the Welsh dragon on the box, and it was a good job he basically overruled Alana on that. And I think it was him that made sure she put her name on the brand too; picking him was a great idea

Oh yeah I agree. I actually agreed with him on both points but it was more the fact he'd been told explicitly not too and he also made the comment about it being his time to shine that amused me. That was about eight weeks ago mate.

I we had a chuckle at that. "my time to shine" bit late now pal! It was funny when Sugs said he'd done well and he was grinning like a Cheshire cat though

Found it a p boring episode really. Once all the inept pillocks get booted it's no longer fit for purpose. I propose future series just end after episode 7.
