RIP Doug. Bit of a legend. I remember knocking into him as he got out of a Jag in Corporation Street loooong time ago. Even then he had a big smile on his face. Top bloke.

Yep, he was a massive part of the football club. Not all good, but plenty of good times whilst he was involved with the club. A genuine Aston Villa man. The revolving door that is life, RIP.

Strange to read so much kind words. The guy was hated by most of the Villa fanbase when he was chairman. I know you're not supposed to speak badly of the deceased but I remember some serious nasty comments towards Deadly Doug.

You’re correct in what you say, but we still have a lot of respect for the bloke. There was good and bad with him. He held us back as a club at times, but also made sure we were properly run in terms of not being in debt.

The death of Dalian Atkinson is being heard in the crown prosecution service, for a case against two of the coppers that were involved. Police brutality again, what a shock.
