Vital we won yesterday. But I'm not one of these people that flip flop my opinion after one result. I still think we're going down. Nothing I've seen in the first half of the season gives me any reason to think otherwise.

Until we can prove that we can string a few wins together, I've no reason to change that view. Even a couple of wins and a draw in succession would be a start. Winning one game every 8 weeks won't cut it.

Next month is massive for our club, really have to sign the right players and have no repeat of last January. Signing an injured Kelly from Rotherham who has turned out to be an absolute crock and giving him a 3.5 year contract on a big wage is stuff of nightmares.
How reckless of Simpson who was supposedly advised against signing many of those useless players in January. He said that we had to sign Kelly then because there would apparently be loads of other clubs wanting him the following summer.:lol::hb:

Looks like Sunday was a flash in the pan again. Win once every two months, fans get carried away… every single fucking time.

Golden opportunity to get back to back wins for the first time in 2 years today. Chucked away.

Absolute bottlers are getting relegated.

The most useless, spineless bunch of overpaid tossers I’ve ever watched.

Still time to put it right with the Jan window. Terrible luck with Wyke's injury at the start of the season, too. Still plenty of time to turn it around.

Crewe fan in peace. Your lot were brilliant today. Great support and played bloody well, and deserved three points. Individual mistakes and exhaustion cost you at the end, but one of the best teams that's come to Gresty Road this season.

Try to keep the heads held high, it's fine margins keeping you down there.

We were good for 88 minutes. Unfortunately if for the remaining 9 minutes we play like a north west counties team, we’re going to lose 9 times out of 10. Weak weak mentally fragile bunch of losers, nothing more nothing less

Non league is where we are heading and where we deserve to be. Maybe down there we’ll actually be able to string a couple of wins together.

Ffs change the bloody record!!

Every week you tell us we’re going down, yes we know. It’s so tedious.

Just so you know, we are going down.

At least what I’m saying is real. You spent the entire summer telling us all we were going to piss this league.

Now half way through the season. 18 points.

For context, we’re probably going to have to go from being the worst team in League 2 to being one of the 10 best in the second half of the season. To stay up.

Anyone who thinks this team is going to hit those heights is absolutely deluded. We have that magical skill of still losing on the rare occasions we play well.

Disappointing, obviously, to lose today. But there was a lot of positives came out of that.
In a strange way, it's strengthened my belief we can survive.
Played great for 90 minutes, teamwork was excellent.
Don't get carried away after a win or loss, there's still plenty of points to play for.

We seem to play well recently as the plucky underdogs against the sides at the top, but still fail to win. Then when it comes to the big games down the bottom we play like shit and more often than not fail to win. It’s a bad combination, a recipe for relegation. Such a mentally weak bunch of players.

I have zero faith in this team staying up. None whatsoever. They’ve given me no reason to across half a season. 4 fucking wins. 4!!

Our owner said promotion was the aim this season!

No you don't, you just need to be 3-5 points better than 2 of Morecambe, Accrington, Tranmere and Accrington.

Which we haven’t even come close to being.

Going by most seasons, 45-50 points is about what you need to stay up. So yes we’ll need to become one of the better teams in this league. Not going to happen.

Signings to come in the next couple of days. Almost certain that one of them is Callum Whelan, and Embleton seems to be a very strong rumour. Still sorely lacking in the engine room, especially in the renewed absence of Callum Guy.

Callum Whelan from Gateshead is a really good national league player.

This ticks a lot of boxes for us looking ahead to next season.

You’re so negative.

If you’d just been to Crewe and watched the million pound bottle jobs at the peak of their powers, you’d be.

You say negative, I say realistic.

Our owner said promotion was the aim this season!

And so he should! They are trying to sell season tickets after all.

But the more realistic head below the clouds type people like me took that for what it was. Words.

Realistically and I said this before the season started, this season was always about staying up and trying to stop the rot. Granted I didn’t think it would be quite as bad as this!

Tranmere Harrogate Swindon Morecambe and Accrington are not much better it isn’t that surprising a side down the bottom vs a side up the top goes into a panic end of game and flogs it happens.

As mentioned above getting to a points target is irrelevant the key is getting above 2 other sides by any means possible.

Remember season 99-00, there was us Chester and Shrewsbury on a pathetic 38-39 points last game of season we got thumped as we were shocking yet still survived.

The single biggest key in this next 4 months is showing big signs of improvement something to finally build on in the summer regardless of league

Carlisle will stay up, at the moment Harrogate are in free fall and Tranmere and Accy are not doing much better.

That said a few weeks ago Swindon and Bromley looked lively so can change but think it will be a relatively low bar for safety.
