Nope. Did you watch it and think you'd be like us when those random Americans who nobody had ever heard of took over? They've confused promotion and relegation it seems, like a lot of them do. Back to back.
To be fair to their owners they planned on only having the one season in League 2 and they look like being right on the money with that.

The owners backed Simpson for too long given he should’ve gone after last season then backed Williamson in January given how many ex-players he brought in (unless the DOF or whoever just happened to bring in ex Gateshead and MK players), only for them to get rid once the new players were through the door.
Vibes of Ten Haag signing a team of his former players in the summer when he already should’ve gone to eventually get the boot ten games in when everyone knew it was coming, another fantastically good American ownership there.

Maybe it's yet to dawn on the owners that if you finish bottom you don't get first pick in the EFL Draft?

FWIW I still think they'll stay up, Carlisle have made changes, Tranmere are stuck with the same squad and manager so things look bleak for them (it's them I'm checking the gap over at the moment). Morecambe have a got a battling squad and manager pulling in the same direction but I'm not sure they've got enough quality in their squad.

In an ideal world it'd be nice for all our local sides to stay up purely for the interest in those games but that doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

So we made 11 signings in January yet we still don’t have any half decent full backs, our centre backs still look ropey, we don’t have an adequate defensive midfielder to play while Guy is out, and last but not least we don’t have a goalscoring striker. And yet again we’ve signed a mixture of injured crocks and players who simply aren’t anywhere near fit enough.

What a pointless waste of time and money.
I said last month either we recruit properly or don’t bother and save the money for a real go at the National League in the summer.

This is the 4th window in a row where we’ve recruited terribly. I honestly think I and most fans could do a better job of identifying players than our “recruitment team”.

What a sorry depressing state of affairs.

I was having a think about our new signings and yes our defence has once again not been sorted out. I think Williams as a right back or right wing back is a decent signing but we needed solid dependable centre backs and a left back and possibly a solid experienced goalkeeper too because I'm starting to have doubts about Breeze now.

Then of course we need a cruncher in midfield to do all the dirty work which we don't have when Callum Guy is out injured. There just seems to be too much of a softness in our team, no players to dig us out of trouble when things are going against us and every single match is predictable. We play nice pretty football in the first 10 to 20 minutes, then play absolutely woeful for the rest especially in the second half.

I don't think our new signings are particularly bad, it's just we didn't sign any battlers and if we did have then the other players would do better.

There's a bit of a misconception in terms of those Williamson brought in. Only Whelan, Scott, and Wearne had previously played for him, unless I'm mistaken.

Williams is rapid, but he can't defend. Not convinced with him at Rightback, he'd be better suited to the wide right midfield spot in a 442. Breeze made some cracking saves yesterday, but his distribution isn't great. Jury is out on Wearn for me.

On the plus side, Jones may fare better in this 4-2-3-1 than he has under Williamson, and Hughes will now have had a chance to properly assess what we've got. I think we need to bring Harper and Ellis back in if we're going to a back 4. Williams can come of the bench in the second half and replace one of the 3 behind Hugill (I'd go with Jones, Embleton, and Harris for those 3.

I am honestly of the view with Carlisle’s transfer policy that of the 50 plus players we have brought in since new owners have taken over it nearly has all been back handed handshake deals to mates and jobs for the boys on top notch cash and not a single bit of it has involved actual scouting or actually looking into finding the right player for what we needed.

It is scandalous the sheer amount of players have come in without even basic talent considering the cash spent.

Would you want him at Notts? I wouldnt, he's left every club in as crap a position as when he started. Wales, Stoke, Southampton, Man City, Blackburn , Bradford. No success anywhere and always dull football.

Good luck to Carlisle , hope he keeps you up but looking from afar it looks like you've got invested owners who are being terribly advised and they're hurling cash at it.
You left out QPR

My ex sister in law lives in Wrexham, I also watched half a dozen episodes of that documentary.
People from that area are renowned for talking rubbish.

You know Hughes is from Wrexham, right? Why would you want a manager who talks rubbish?

If we can get Callum Guy back in the team very soon and he's as good as he was before then he's our best hope of staying up I believe.

We have no hope of staying up.

We are 100% down. It’s been obvious for months. Our form is getting worse. It’s rinse and repeat of last season. We’ll be lucky to get past 30 points.

The sooner people accept this relegation the better. Then we can all get on with our lives and try to put a plan in place to clear out the shite from this squad and get this club back into the football league.

Some people in our fan base need to wake up and smell the Vanarana fumes.

8 games into the year and it’s 7 defeats. Our form is getting worse as the season goes on.

Are the players we’ve spent a fortune on in January actually worse than the shit they replaced? Maybe that would be harsh but results wise they are certainly not showing anything to prove otherwise.

Remember the talk of catching Newport? Well they are now 18 points ahead of us. And Tranmere have gone 6 points clear. Not a massive amount but when you lose every week like we do it might as well be 20 points.

Carlisle United will be relegated to the National League this season.

It’s absolutely devastating.

We need to just work out the rest of season trying to get some team balance and inject some solid stability to the squad now and forget about the survival/relegated aspect if we go we go if we survive it’s a bonus.

The problem at present is 2 straight years of defeat after defeat, is exceptionally low morale, no backbone, very little fight and terrible levels of passion and that is from players to management to fanbase……club has been on rot too long.

Last two games should have been two draws…….for different reasons, but draws, Grimsby outplayed us but they were flogging chances and getting frustrated, a better side at 1-1 would have dug in that last 10 minutes maybe nicked one.

The last night we did what Grimsby did to us, dominated play, possession and chances, but they nick their as such first shot on target and win.

Two deserved losses in the end, but goals currently using baby steps should be turning these losses to draws, go unbeaten a while get some confidence.

Of course this SHOULD have been done in October/November when we were in pipe dream madhouse thinking a Barcelona approach would drive us out of it than basic first steps……it’s probably too late now to just go for draws now which is a problem

I've written us off now.

Started looking at the National league table to see who we'll be playing and struggling against next season.

Braintree!

What a treat that is.

You've already done an immediate bounce back, I don't think any club has done it twice. If you do go down you'll be outnumbering home fans at alot of grounds, but also the club everyone wants to beat. Will be very tough for an immediate bounce back again. Ours was freakish really.

At least we might actually win a few games down there.

The rest of this season for Hughes is all about getting some sort of improvement to take into the National League next season.

My issue is as harsh as this sounds ‘do I feel hughes can get us back up’ my answer on that is no.

Hughes seems good if he’d been appointed earlier he’s a good track record of building mid table sides, but promotion sides is non existent.

But if he starts to make side more stable over next few months he deserves a chance but knowing us we would allow him a summer to bring in another new squad (I mean we have only ) had 4 full squads over the last 18 months and then sack him in september
