Yeah but with the exception of Wrexham those teams you listed are all tinpotters with small fan bases whereas Carlisle already have the fans in place.
And it was only the one season Wrexham stayed down before romping it the next.
With Carlisle's budget you will piss the National League although that's once you've got rid of Hughes I might add as I can't see him doing the business for you down there.
I'm not so sure. York didn't go up last year with the best budget. I watched us out spend Sutton, Harrogate and quite a few others but not quite get there for four years.
I'm not sure Carlisle are in any kind of shape to launch a promotion bid at the moment.

We have to. Even if we don’t go up first year, we have to at least challenge for top 7.

If we end up bottom half, festering away in non league with no hope, the wider fanbase will give up and next thing you know we’ll be on crowds of 2000 - 3000

It’s why the rest of the season is still important despite us being down. We have to at least take some positive upturn in form into the summer ahead of the national league season.

I agree, you should be able to launch a playoff bid. If you can stay in the top half of the table it can be a fun experience. Watching your team win each week at whatever standard creates positivity around the club, losing does the opposite.
In the absence of a NL experienced manger I think you'll need a very good chief exec / DOF. If you don't get that it's very easy to waste a season getting to grips with the division and splurging money on over the hill league players. You need energy and youth not a retirement home. Southend had Phil Brown try that and it was a disaster.
Teams that score loads do better than teams that are hard to beat down there, don't know why but it just seems the way.
I still think it's easier to stay up than to go up, especially at the first time of asking.

Sadly I think Carlisle will go down and with Morecambe having a bit of fight about them, Tranmere could go down too. No reason why both teams couldn't bounce back up.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I’ve said all along Morecambe probably will survive, all 3 clubs are awful but Morecambe remind me a lot of Carlisle during that 2000-2003 spell, lack any quality due to a sheer lack of finances but through this at least gain unity, togetherness and fight.

Carlisle won’t get that because when you overspend the players don’t really give as much of a crap, relegation isn’t going to affect their wages, it’ll effect their future but most will gladly accept a nice big wedge before f*cking off into oblivion.

Tranmere may yet get it, that could kill Morecambe, tranmere go down their players football careers could be finished, club will be in dire straight, owner may not sell it and manager won’t get another club…….they have REASONS to give a crap and may yet up their game.

It ain’t happened big at Carlisle, the fans care we do at all clubs……….owners don’t they are over in trumpland and the only key for us from them is they don’t get bored leaving us financially buggered…….players won’t care they get stupid wages even in non league they could not give a crap if we went down it’s obvious week after week……..until 2 weeks ago our manager certainly didn’t care, too interested in projects and style than reading the situation, just hope to god hughes cares!!

Who are we going to talk to next season when there are no fans in the non league forum?

Where did all the Forest Green and Hartlepool fans go?

National League posters went to post on another forum a few seasons back because they were upset with adverts or something on here. Shame really because we've lost good posters of clubs who got relegated. And this forum runs pretty well 99% of the time these days.

Ah so they went to the other forum? Oh well I'll have to do the same then if we go down.
Wish I didn't have to but if this site couldn't be arsed sorting itself out over something so easily fixable then what choice do I have? I'm not talking to hellogregory down there on my own.

Well if Curzon got promoted I can partially be a fan of another club!

Although it isn’t looking likely at the moment sadly.

I've said many times, I'm not going to the non league forum on here.

I'll either be staying here and pretending to still be a football league club, or I'll move to another forum. f************ would be a possible destination. (it won't let me type it on here)

The other forum is pretty good. I pop my head in there now and again as the Non-League lot are mostly (with one main exception) good sorts.

It does now but for months it was virtually unusable as all Tractorboys gave a fuck about was creaming more money for himself by letting adverts completely take over the site.
Oh and he also liked to give people weekly bans if they said anything derogatory about Ipswich the fucking tosser.
Soon as he sold it it went back up and running to pretty much spot on.

Who's the one main exception to look out for on there?

Maybe shoddycollins will reappear from the abyss and keep you company.

Didn't realise he'd not been on here since the end of last year and hasn't posted anything since October.

He must have got fed up of someone saying we are 100% percent down.

I'm not sure if they would have crossed swords before (I'm sure they have) but maybe Carver and BTTF will keep each other entertained. They give off similar energies.

A fan of Halifax Town literally has nothing to boast about. A forgotten former football league club from long ago with a very small fan base, no financial clout, no ambition as they've never come close to coming back up and still don't look close.

Oh what fun we had in those days with the banter between the big BELTs - us, Stocky, Notts, Wrexham and Chesterfield, and not forgetting Southend, with BTTF and that other Halifax fan as an entertaining sideshow, and the occasional visits from Lance Stoe…

I found BTTF sucked all the energy out of me, the bloke's a thin skinned whacko.
And that other Halifax fan who he always argues with sounds like he has the Samaritans on speed dial.
