We've seen improvements in performances and I'm sure the goals will come on Thursday night, we're so close and it's still achievable.

First and foremost you have to go by results and the first 2 months of 2025 have been our worst run of form of the season. We were bad before the new year, but we’ve somehow got worse. There have been zero improvements. Our 2025 form has been even worse than typical relegation form.

It would be achievable if there is or has been any signs of improvement. But there hasn’t been any. We’ve been consistently shit and ineffective all season. It’s absolute pie in the sky cloud cuckoo stuff to expect this team to suddenly string a run of wins together. It ain’t happening.

With respect to Gillingham, they are in terrible form, if we can’t beat them at home, who are we going to beat? You suddenly think we’re going to go to barrow and win, and then follow that up by beating the league leaders on Tuesday? Come on…

And I do get behind the team. What do you think i have a season ticket for? What do you think I’m going to Barrow and Harrogate to do? Support the opposition? I can get behind the team while still holding the opinion that this team is going down and is the worst Carlisle United team I’ve ever seen.

Actually it's because you and every other club in this league knows that once we turn this around and get going we'll be a huge threat to be feared.

The reason this league has looked so poor this season is simply because we weren't up at the top end of the division.

Our clubs ambition and expectations are to become a Premier League team much like Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth etc who were all once lowly L2 clubs.

Great win last night. Well worth the trip even if it did feel like I was watching the game through prison bars.

Didn’t think we played that well really, we’ve played better and lost. But that’s a good thing. It’s about time we ground out and shithoused a result from a below par performance. Something we never would have done under Williamson.

But Like after the Accrington win in December, like after the Fleetwood win in January, there’s a lot of people getting carried away after one win. It’s ONE win. We’ve been here before. Until this team proves that it can string 3 wins together (hell even 2 wins together would be a start!) then there’s absolutely no reason to get carried away talking about safety. I said the same after the Fleetwood win when fans were announcing that a corner had been turned. Only for us to lose the next 4 games. Until we start putting wins together we’re still going down. One win a month isn’t going to cut it unfortunately.

Over to the players now to prove otherwise.

No one is saying don’t be happy. I was certainly the happiest I’ve been at a Carlisle game since the last minute winner at Salford in November, but some fans were getting carried away last night in the away end, talking about securing survival over the next 3 weeks with 4 wins and then pushing towards a mid table finish. Talking about next season in league 2. Fans got carried away after the Fleetwood win as well and I genuinely think some of our players were caught up in it as well.

If we go and win 3 or 4 in a row, fair enough, fill your boots. But right now in the real world… come on. Celebrate the win, but let’s not get carried away thinking any corner has been turned.

When we got our January win at Fleetwood, it was party time at our club. The champagne was popped open, the social media frenzy was wild from club and players. The fact we had a game coming up at Notts county on the Tuesday was an afterthought. But we went to Notts county… got beat. Ah but it’s Notts county, as long as we beat Swindon on Saturday. Then Saturday comes round… 5-1 defeat. The Fleetwood win was a distant memory.

Now We’ve got our February win at barrow. But we can’t let it be party time again and Walsall on Tuesday be left as an afterthought. If we roll over for Walsall, then one defeat will turn into another at Harrogate next weekend and so on and so on.

We’ve only turned the corner when we’ve strung a few wins together. Not one win a fucking month.

I don’t put much if anything on social media about football.

The club social media and player social media was OTT after one win at Fleetwood. You’d think we’d won promotion. It concerned me at the time with big games around the corner and it was no surprise we lost the next 4.

You say I’m dramatic, but most of my match predictions this season have been close to the money. I can’t be exactly right every week. You may class me as overly pessimistic, but I can throw it back and say you’re over optimistic. In my opinion you had unrealistic expectations of our January signings which imo was yet another poor window overall. I respect your optimism and faith in these players, I just don’t see it myself based off previous.

You must surely agree when I say to turn a corner we need to actually back up a win this time and not let it be a complete one off and fail to win for another month.

The ‘manner’ of the performance is what we have to judge midweek with, do we roll over and die or do we give them a bloody good game. That for me is either a sign of continued progress or a slump back to the norm

I don’t expect us to beat Walsall, of course I don’t. This team is shite.

But any talk about corners being turned have to be shelved until we’ve strung a few wins together. Or even two wins and a draw.

I’m not saying I expect us to do it, I fully expect Walsall to turn us over. It’s why I think we’re going down, becos I have zero faith in this team putting a run together to get us out of it.

I do agree that the club social media etc does go over the top when we win along with some of our fans which I find cringy.

Especially given our current awful record and league position.
