Just back from wasting my time and money following this shower of shit at Harrogate.

Why do I do it? I know what this team is all about, I know it's toothless, I know it's gutless, I know we are 100% down. I stood on that terrace today and was seriously asking myself what the fuck I'm doing.

It's ranty this, but I'm pissed off.

We are down, I've known this for a while. Sorry to be brutal about it but Kendalcufc Tallow and whoever else have their heads in the clouds if they think these bunch of overpaid tossers can keep us up. The new players are garbage, as bad or worse than the shite we had before january. Hughes has been left with an impossible task.

And that is what I'm furious about most! How yet again for about the fourth consecutive time we have completely wasted a transfer window. Was it 12 players we brought in? Spent a fortune yet again and at best the quality is as bad as what we had, if not worse. We've completely neglected the problem areas of our team and if anything have made us even more toothless than we already were. What are we doing? There needs to be a serious rethink in how we go about recruiting and who is responsible for it. Questions need to be asked of the new sporting director for overseeing this mess. We have a squad of 30+ players costing more than probably any other squad in this league. It's beyond shameful. Credit to Hughes for slowing down the flow of goals conceded, but that'll only get us the odd 0-0 draw and a once in a blue moon 1-0 win. The lack of quality in the creative attacking areas is as bad as anything we've had.

This is the worst Carlisle United team I've ever seen and sadly it continues failing to surprise me. This is why I didn't join in the champagne flowing wankfest that followed the win at Barrow, because we've been here before and I KNEW we wouldn't back it up. I just knew. I said it last week after the game. It's so predictably shit this team. The same thing happened after we won in december, same thing in January, and oh look, the same thing again. We will win again this season, probably/maybe, but it will be another complete one off sandwiched among a load of crap drab pathetic defeats and the odd draw.

We are shit, we are 100% down. I was hoping that we might see at least some signs of progress ahead of the national league next season, but I'm not sure this team is capable of even that.

What a load of shite. Absolutely furious after watching that today. Some of our fans need to wake up, smell the vanarama fumes and realise the complete mess we are in.

Yeah, we're in a mess, undeniable.
But, looking at all the remaining fixtures, there's still points and safety to fight for.
Win or lose, a lot of our fans overreact.
We're running out of games, but it's not over yet.

Why on earth did hughes go back to 3 at the back…..it’s failed for 2 years, it has been improving with 4 at the back…..why just why??

As said before not fussed on the survive, won’t survive aspect, more fussed on the working on this team to get some confidence back……reverting back to the same sh*te which has not at all suited this squad for the entire season wasn’t the way to go.

Teams awful, hughes ain’t going g to get a big reversal out of it, but he needs at least to show he knows what he’s doing and isn’t going to make the same idiotic mistakes Simpson and Williamson made, he will just lose fanbase support with that.

Kelly returning could be significant, according to the local paper.
That would give us a strike force of Hugill, Bevan, Dennis and Kelly.
I can see us scoring a few in these 3 upcoming home games with this prolific quartet available.

Kelly has not lasted longer than a week in 14 months playing time at carlisle

What madness suggests he will suddenly play games

Reading my post match rant back, man was I pissed off after watching that.

Not that I was surprised, because I fully expected the barrow win to be a complete one off. It’s the reason we’re going down, we can’t back up a win, we just aren’t capable of it. Look at barrow’s reaction to that game against us, go to notts county and win, then follow it up with a home win v Accrington. 6 points. If only we were capable of such an amazing run of form.

And having watched Hughes post match interviews, I don’t think he’s at all impressed with the diabolical transfer window the club just had. Signing a load of unfit players in a relegation “battle” - we are in march and some players still can’t get close to 90 . Then there’s the complete oversight of not signing adequate quality to improve our shockingly shit forward line. Now we’re apparently relying on a complete crock that so far hasn’t gone 2 weeks without getting injured since joining 13 months ago.

There seriously needs to be a review of the whole sporting director / recruitment team and their strategies. Because January was pathetic, we could all see it. We can’t afford another bad transfer window, this summer is so important if we want any chance of regaining our football league status.

I don’t expect to win today but I want to see some positive progressive signs. Maybe actually create some opportunities for a change. Maybe even test the Wimbledon keeper!

One goal from open play in Mark Hughes’ seven games. It was obvious where the problems have been. January was a shit show failure.

Not just going down, going down with a whimper… again.

Utterly pathetic again today.

This is the worst football league team I’ve ever seen. Words can’t do it justice.

Hopefully now it’s time for everyone to forget this season and just get focused on the next

Don’t really blame hughes for this current spell he’s just been shoved into an awful situation at the wrong time with a squad that looked ok on paper……..and then he finally seen it!!!!

But we do now have to seriously decide is hughes who we want hitting at non league?? We are in a desperately serious position and could easily drop down again if it’s not stabilised. Personally hughes for me is t the answer for non league although he may at least stabilise the situation in the summer

Also then who can we keep because we cannot keep buying an entire new starting 11 every 6 months and hope one day it works we finally need to keep the 4-5 players who work and build on that……but where are the 4/5 players because I’ve never in all my time following Carlisle seen such a total disconnection between players and fanbase, even atrocious teams in the past would get some surge of backing this lot out zero effort in game after game and the fanbase hate the lot of them.

Whether Hughes is the man to get us challenging at the right end of the national league next season, I do not know. I’m leaning towards no, but then I remember the shit tip he’s been left with. Jury is still out…

But what has to change is who is responsible for recruiting and how we do it. Every single recent transfer window we’ve spent a fortune and come out the other end with an even worse team. I honestly didn’t think we could get any worse than we were pre January, then we let Rob Clarkson and Mike Williamson loose with the purse strings in January and look at the shower of shit we’ve ended up with. I hope we are planning for NL now, the sooner we do the better.

I’d sack the sporting director, I’d sack Greg Abbott from whatever it is he’s doing now, I’d sack the chief executive and replace him with someone fresh. Then I’d try to clear out as many of the expensive wasters as possible whether that be transfers, loans or contract settlements.

It will be expensive and drastic but it needs to be. An overhaul is an absolute must. Mistakes can’t be made again. We cannot keep going like this, we must get it right in the national league or I dread to think what could happen.

Paul Hurst is your man. Two promotions from NL. He knows how it works. For me Hughes will struggle in the NL, as would most who haven’t experienced it. It is a whole new ball game

Isn't Hughes on a rolling contract or something? Be surprised if they keep him on for next season.

Yeah he is. As was Williamson.

Think there’s a release clause in them that we have to pay if we want to terminate them.

Not a bad shout.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we try to tempt Evatt again. We spoke to him before appointing Hughes.
