Just out of interest Carlisle fans, as Hughes had you playing the tippy tappy playing around at the back nonsense like he did with us, or has he got you playing a bit more 'up and at em' direct stuff, which is surely what you needed?

Yeah we’ve gone quite direct under him.

I was expecting him to continue Williamson’s passing around at the back based off what I’d read. But no it’s not been like that.

That's not worked then either. Is it the squad Hughes has inherited?

I cannot believe Abbo is still recruiting for you. Lovely man and will always be remembered here for his workrate and never say die attitude as a player in my favourite Bantams side of all time in 1984/5 season when we won the old 3rd division title in style, the last time incidentally that we won a title.

I tried a different phone, laptop and browser but it still didn't work. If people can't simply access a football forum then it's going to lose loads of posters and no new people will sign up.

That's why I'm posting on the other forum now and I guess I was going there anyway because the non-league forum is busier over there, but honestly I think it's time everyone moved over there and got the L1 and L2 forums busy because this place is doomed.

I created an account on there when CloudStrike ventures (I think) bought this site and it all went to shit for about a week or so a couple of years ago. At the time the NL section effectively transferred over completely but no one on this section seemed to move, they cracked on using this site as if nothing was happening before it was eventually fixed.

They all came back because their teams got promoted from the NL.

Naturally you resort to where the discussion is, which is why I've always been here, but if that site was more active in the L1 and L2 they probably wouldn't have. It has been a lot quieter on here recently which took me by surprise given some of the big fixtures which have taken place, but now it makes sense as to why. I've just been lucky enough not to run into any issues, I mainly browse on android without any VPN on AdBlocker as far as I'm aware.

Oh yeah it’s the squad for sure.

That’s why I’ve been adamant for months that this team is 100% down. We had a slim chance if we had a good January window, but I had no faith in that happening and sure enough Williamson and the sporting director made a mess of that as well.

I said at the time I’d have preferred to just sack off the January window, accept relegation and then start again in the summer. Now we have a load more players on long expensive contracts that will be hard to get rid of.

All I wanted from Hughes was to see some signs of improvement and to be fair we did see that particularly defensively, but these last 2 games have been a backwards step. Jury is still out on him, but 10 more games to at least show something if he wants to stay beyond this season.

Do you think Lewis might go back to you? Even as number 2. We’ll definitely be looking to offload him and he was actually decent enough for you wasn’t he? And what about Wyke? I still think there’s a player there but it hasn’t worked out here this time. Could he return to Bradford or has that ship sailed?

I cannot see Hughes staying, if as seems increasingly likely, you get relegated. You would surely need someone who knows the league?

We signed Joe Hilton a keeper from Blackburn in the January window on a permanent transfer to provide cover for Sam Walker. I would imagine we will go with these two whichever league we find ourselves in next season.

It's no secret that we wanted to re-sign Charlie Boy last summer, but you blew us out of the water contract wise, I would imagine that ship has well and truly sailed now. Will he feature for you in the run-in or is he out for the season?

Like ourselves with Andy Cook, he is a massive miss for you.

Good luck for rest of season, sorry we couldn't do you a favour against Tranmere. Still scratching my head at how we lost that one.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I’d keep wyke for next season he’s the type of player should cope well to the battling approach, can hold up ball or win headers, his reduced pace should be ok for the conference.

I’ve not seen it really to fully comment but I think hughes did exactly what an experienced pro manager would do heading into this situation……..tried to keep it tight, keep in games and try and nick a goal to win it.

What he probably hasn’t expected was A: how uninterested a large chunk of the players are, B: how badly unfit a lot of the players are, C: how lethargic and passionless the entire club is at present (that is more dangerous in a relegation battle than anger!)

Your at 0-0 and the whole atmosphere is about expecting when the opponents score and your losing and the atmosphere is all about the next opposition goal than us actually scoring.

For me I’d just go hung ho if I were him, nothing to lose, chuck the whole thing at goals next match we lose by 5 goals having chances and having a go, I’d doubt the end of match atmosphere would be any worse than if we lost 0-1 and create nothing.
