We couldn't keep up the tempo for the whole game, considering how incredible we were in the first half at pressing and winning the ball. Just such a shame we weren't 3 or 4 up to capitalise on that
Absolutely spot on. You should have won it in the 1st half. No doubt about it.

Was possibly abit naive to put that much into the game early on. You were never going to be able to keep that up. It's a pretty good sign for us though, very few teams come to Gresty Rd and have that much of a go. They tend to defend deep and sit back, which plays massively into our hands.

Would appear that Ward played the last ten minutes with a broken arm..

Quality game. I'm getting bored of saying we have to take our early chances, a really regular occurance now. We were magnificent in the first half. Onto FGR UTC

Credit to Exeter, good side all over the pitch. 2nd half we had the lion’s share of the ball, didn’t create anything clear cut but still feel frustrated we didn’t get a winner, we didn’t use possession anywhere near as well as we usually do but again, that’s down to Exeter’s performance.

Glad we didn’t lose, think we’d have won if NG played.
You really couldn’t get a win against Exeter? Absolutely useless you lot.......

Can only really echo what's been said in this thread to be honest.

Exeter look a very decent side and will certainly be in the mix for automatic promotion. Play the ball round really well and should have been out of sight before half time. You're #11 on the wing looks a very decent player.

The high-pressing, get in your face tactics were spot on and really stopped us from playing in the first half. Second half, Exeter were certainly starting to tire which made a difference in dropping-off and adding another defender and that's where Crewe could start moving the ball and have a go. Overall, I would still say Exeter were still the better side so I'm happy to walk away with a point.

Tactically, Artell got it all wrong with the back four. Nicky Hunt hasn't been able to play full-back for 12 months now and his lack of pace was heavily exposed and he didn't offer what NG does going forward, a lot of forward play starts from NG. I don't get what Dave see's in Olly Lancashire, he didn't do to bad but I still think Nolan/Hunt is the best paring. Honestly thought that was the best performance I have seen from Powell when he came on for the last 30 minutes, everything positive came from him and the Exeter back-line struggled with his direct running.
