I'm going tonight but I really don't know why. It's a shit card full of one-sided fights and I'm expecting Brook to dispose of Dan in five or six rounds.

I can't see Mayweather or Pacquiao going for Brook anyway, it's more likely to be someone like Khan or one of the US welterweights (Thurman, Bradley etc).

Etches walked straight into that one, a brutal KO.

Brook to make short work of this once he settles into his stride.

How the fuck did that bloke make it to Number 1 contender.

Really want to see Brook/Khan now. Mainly because I'd love to see Brook destroy that c***.

Decent stuff from Brook but christ was that challenger bad. Calling Khan out now, not sure about that one as Khan has looked pretty awesome since moving up in his last 2 fights. Khan has loads more experience on the big stage than Brook and has fought some genuine world class fighters.

Exactly my thoughts. I really like Brooks and think his got solid foundations on which to improve upon. Wanna see him fight one or two quality opponents abroad and pick up that experience, then go for Khan in what will be a MASSIVE British showdown :bg:

Jo Jo Dan was a bit of a joke wasn't he? His bambi legs were going almost straightaway in the second round and he was never going to recover from there. You really have to question how he got to be the number one contender. Still, Brook did what he had to do and got him out of there. It was an ideal return for him really after his stabbing, you wouldn't want him being chucked in with a Khan, Thurman or Marquez so soon after an incident of that nature.

Speaking of Khan, I think Kell beats him but I completely understand why he doesn't want the fight. If he loses that one he's probably looking at retirement. Shame because I think it would be a really interesting match up. Marquez in July Will do me though.

As for Etches, wtf was his promoter doing putting him in with Khomitsky? It was clear from the outset that he was getting knocked out, it was like he was fighting a boy.

Khan v Broner next month apparently. Khan will box the head off the idiot at 147, I'm not sure what this is going to achieve in his quest for Floyd.

He'll do anything to avoid Kell.

I'm interested in who Brook is going to fight, says he is fighting twice this summer. One I think will be against Rios, that would be a tear up. The Khan fight simply isn't happening right now, he has too much to risk and let's be honest he can't afford to be facing a puncher at this stage. His fights since Garcia have been very carefully picked.

Yeah I don't really think Khan is ducking Brook, there's just too much on the line to take that fight at the moment. I really want to see Brook v Marquez but that doesn't look likely at the moment what with his injuries and his unwillingness to travel to England. Rios would be a good match up but I'd rather Kell made a bold step up at this point to fight someone like Marquez or Maidana. That's going to cost money to get them over here though.

JMM and MM would both be huge tests for Brook. I'm convinced he could come through either, but not back-to-back in such a short space of time.

Apparently Khan's next fight is Algieri or whatever his name is. What a nothing fight!

Yeah that's shit. But the IBF have ordered Khan to fight Bradley to become Brook's number one contender - now that's more like it.

That's a really close fight if he does have a tear up with Bradley. I think he'd probably just nick it on points.

Algieri's movement annoys me incredibly, he just dances around half the time making no impression on anything. He seems to think the judges will score him for fancy movement when not even in striking range or under pressure. Crap fight though. Maybe Khan wants to see if he can beat Pacman's 6 knockdowns.

Meanwhile the lesser spotted Andre Ward has announced a home fight for 20th June.

Joshua is on tonight from Newcastle, always exciting to see him fight even though most of his fights end in the first couple of rounds. Not sure who else is on the card but I'm sure I saw that Sky will be showing Stevenson v Bika too. Stevenson should retain and then please, please, please can they get the Kovalev fight agreed.

He is too anxious to impress and put a show on. Punching a guy when he was clearly down is not clever though, however much he says he didn't do it, he also hit after the bell in one of the rounds. Should have been a point off for that shit yet he wasn't even warned.

Meanwhile how good did Beterbiev look? A monster, easily ready for a world title bout.

Dude is fake as fuck. He talks as though he's some time honoured guru. Guy is a dirty bastard too, lost count of the times he's twatted opponents whilst their on the floor etc. Fair enough if you're in a world title scrap, but against dwarf bums who don't stand a chance? Pfft. Needs to stfu about Staying humble too.

We had Gavern over for sparring. We sent him away after one spar. He's hopeless"

Another easy win for AJ but i think most of us would have a good chance of beating Gavern.

Needs to step up a level now but also stop with blows after bell and when bloke is on canvas !

Kevin Johnson should be a good step up for him. I'm with Abe though, he's clearly on for big things but he's so far up his own backside it's unreal. He comes across as a right bellend in his interviews with iFL TV.

I notice Khan has got himself in a bit of a pickle. He turned down the chance to fight Brook or Bradley in favour of the Algieri fight, which Showtime have now said they won't be airing. He'll probably end up fighting Broner at catchweight or something.

I'm a massive fan of Khan, I think he's the best boxer Britain have in terms of sheer ability but he's doing himself no favours here.

He won't have anything to do with the IBF because of the Peterson fight and he's clearly in two minds over a clash with Brook. (Though I think he beats Brook).

This Algieri fight seems like a keep busy one until Mayweather or Pacquiao are available.

Someone at work told me (not sure on the authenticity of it) how the Khan family practically run amateur boxing and hold the rights to head gear. He also said the whole family are disliked in boxing because they're 'pakis'. Nice fella. :|

He's making a dick of himself. He's stated that he can't fight a week before Ramadan (I'm not versed enough to understand how much of a deal that is to a Muslim) however, in 2011/12 he fought 6 days before Ramadan fell :pond:

Not sure why Khan would want to take an eliminator for Brook anyway. Kell is doing the equivalent of laying on his back with his legs open trying to beckon Khan in.

I actually think Khan is doing Brook a favour by not facing him yet - I think Amir is a level above at the minute

Why lie though? I agree that Khan doesn't need to take an eliminator as he can walk into a fight with Kell any time he wants. But why say he didn't reject the Bradley fight when the IBF have come out and said he did? What's he hiding? And why say Brook needs to win a title before he'll consider a fight, only now to come out and say he needs to prove himself against better opposition? He says he'll fight anyone who's put in front of him but at the same time he's coming out with every excuse possible not to take the fight.

It's no coincidence that since he was last knocked out out against Garcia he hasn't fought anyone who can punch. He's cherrypicking opponents like Alexander and Algieri who he knows he'll win in comfortable fashion and look good at the same time. I don't think he's scared of Brook but he's a big welterweight and he knows if he gets knocked out again that could well be the end of his career.
