Current early form sees this only going one way, but it is still early form and our 'team' may click for the first time and produce a result...

And we have a match thread for The Cobblers game...:brill:

If what others have said is correct, and that you are likely to sit back against us, I’d like to see us go with an attacking line up:

Palmer

Scott Wootton - Niall Canavan - Josh Grant

Byron Moore - Callum Mcfadzean

Joe Edwards

Jose Baxter - Danny Mayor

Ryan Taylor - Zac Rudden

Subs: Mike Cooper, Gary Sawyer, Tafari Moore, Conor Grant, George Cooper, Joel Grant, Klaidi Lolos

Joe Riley and Dom Telford will miss out through injury, whilst Antoni Sarcevic is suspended. I’m hoping Joel Grant is fit enough for the bench.

Byron Moore has been injured and started the season as a striker but can play RWB. I think we’ll win 2-0. Mayor with one and Rudden to score his first goal for PAFC.

I don’t think we sit back out of choice, we sit back because we constantly lose the ball

Anyway, a sign of the apathy surrounding us atm is that I’ve had 3 spare season tickets for this (ma and da away, mate away too) and I’ve only potentially been able to give 1 away

Agree with that. Hope you are right about about Josh Grant starting. I know 60 minutes is not much to go on, but I was literally purring at him on Tuesday. He looked way more comfortable on and off the ball than our experienced centre backs. He looks like he is a class above.

I’m hoping he was taken off to be rested for this game. Much quicker than Sawyer and a lot more comfortable on the ball. He captained Chelsea U23’s for a reason. Pity Dom Telford isn’t fit as him and Ryan Taylor were really forming a partnership.

I did think there maybe something about Rudden. His brain seems quite quick to see possible openings, for example his movement to try and run into channels was good. The issue was that only Baxter seemed to have the same vision, and realised what Rudden was trying to do.

Grant, quite frankly, looks faster than most of our team let alone Sawyer. There was one moment in the first half where he accelerated and got first to a ball he had no right to get to, let alone so cleanly.

The number of games Telford plays for us will be key, we need him to start more than thirty games. Things happen when he is on the pitch.

PS It looked like Grant came off because of cramp.

Hoping that we now have the ability to break Northampton down as I can see them sitting relatively deep like Newport did in the first half the other week. 2-1 Argyle with Northampton scoring from a set piece.

Should be a good 1400+ sell out following from you as well, so there should be at least some early noise from you? ....until we start our onslaught...

Well done Northampton. Wake up call for Lowe. The back 3 signed by Derek Adams are shite.

Well that’s the blueprint on how to play against Plymouth. Press, press, press. Lowe after the game said they wouldn’t abandon that either, so that’ll be interesting to keep an eye on.

Thought we were excellent and it could have been 6.

I can see us having a good home record and a not so good away record. At home teams will naturally come here and be a bit more conservative and generally we control the game. Away from home if teams get into us, we will make mistakes and if you capitalise on them you’ll most likely beat us.
