Best goalkeeper in the league.

Best midfielder in the league.

Best winger in the league.

Can't believe I can actually type that and keep a straight face but it's true.

I challenge anybody to find me a better goalkeeper than Scott Brown, better midfielder than Jake Taylor and a better winger than David Worrall.

I'll save you wasting your time. You can't.

Still don't think we have enough to end up in the top 7 come April but we'll give it a damn good go. It's better than years and years of relegation battles and dreadful football and tactics.

I think we'll finish 10th. 2 losses in 15 in all competitions though which clearly shows we're doing something right. Just think a few key injuries or suspensions may hurt us if long term. We've finally got squad depth but I'd be concerned if Montano was out for long, either Smith or Legge got injured or we lose Jake Taylor in January.
I’ve no idea how good Scott Brown is but if he’s better than James McKeown then he must be fucking good because McKeown is mint.

Funnily enough, McKeown would be my number two.

Lowery? Yeah, I'll give you that. Very good player. Bright future ahead of him. Wintle? Don't talk wet.

It's not really difficult to have 3 of the best players in the league and be 9th, is it? Swindon have the best striker in the league, which is why they're higher. Crewe have had superb away form all season which is why they're up there as they're usually decent at home anyway. Exeter are an established side now and have built over the past few seasons gone close. Bradford shouldn't even be in this league but they are. When all their injuries clear and they have a fully fit squad for once, they'll piss promotion. FGR are well drilled and don't give much away. Clean sheets galore. If they scored more they'd piss the league. Cheltenham's home form has kept them up there and they've started to improve away over the last few months as well. Northampton are in a rich vein of form so have made themselves a contender.

Not to mention it's bloody December 7th.

As for an Exeter fan trying to mock Vale and Crewe. What is it with these proper tinpot nothing clubs getting high and mighty after a few good seasons? Burton fans did the same which is fucking bizarre considering they're a small club. Concentrate on your own bottlejobs hey? Little old Crewe and Vale, living rent free in your head. Marvellously tinpot.

There are still people at Cheltenham who don't rate Scott Brown.

Those people are idiots.

Don’t understand it. Why can’t fans of any club, big or small, get excited about having a decent season - especially if it follows a period of proper shiteness- like us!

He seems popular when he goes back at least.

He’s been outstanding for us following a spell of not having an established experienced keeper under Aspin/Michael Brown.

Great penalty stopper, shot stopper only thing that does sometimes frustrate is he sticks to his line a bit and can be indecisive.

Nice chap too. He messages everyone back on Twitter if you comment about him.

To be honest the thread was to discuss the mainly off field things after what Smurf did to us which is giving us a buzz. We’ve had an awful time, relegation, followed by two of our joint lowest finishes ever, turgid football under Aspin and a chairman murdering the club slowly... it’s nice to wake up this morning looking forward to going to watch the game rather than less than 12 months ago getting up and going because I felt I had to.

Because it's seen as arrogance, according to Vale fans themselves.

That’s bollocks. I presume most of us on here realise it could all go tits up at any time.

Enjoy it while you can, I reckon.

Oh totally agree. I'm loving this season. The hypocrisy of Vale fans on here though is delightful, something you only truly get in football.

Well said Indian Dan. I can only echo what you said about enjoying it while you can.

TBH my first impression upon reading the op was that it was just like one of those golden nuggets that Kenny End bless him used to regale us all with when Luton were climbing up the leagues. However one thing that Valefan said did strike me more than anything - that back in April the Vale fans didn't know what the future held. And what's more important in my eyes is that Vale's upturn in fortune isn't down to doubling or tripling the playing budget.

I didn't see this coming at all; in fact I thought they were in for a struggle to stay up this season as I had doubts over their new owners. In short, I thought they lacked experience of running a FL club.

PS - Re. Scott Brown, I think he's easily one of the top 3 keepers in L2. It's hard for any 'neutral' fan to claim that's he's better than McKeown but if you asked me to pick one I 'd go with Brown, though hopefully I'm asked to pick two ;)

Good to see Popey has learned his lesson since the ban and fine. His now deleted (again) tweets basically said Walsall were poor or “cack” which is funny because he gave the ball away which then led to their goal.

The tweets he has left up basically scream I have a Stella and gambling problem. Bit of an embarrassment.

To be fair he’s only saying about Walsall what pretty much every Vale fan in attendance said. Worst side we’ve played all season... problem is we were no better on the day and got sucker punched with their only real chance.

He’s sailing a bit close to the wind on Twitter again, although not to the level before... as for the goal... harsh to blame him when he had three or four surrounding him held it as long as he could and got zero support! Evans was at fault but playing out of position.

He’s having a bit of fun with the John Stones stuff which he said months ago and unfortunately the draw has seen it picked up again!

If joyce and worrall weren't suspended and Browne ill then I'd say that would have been a comfortable win. Losing them 3 players is equivalent to man utd losing Keane Giggs and Beckham in the 90s which is hard to deal with. I wish pope would fuck off Twitter seems like he spends most of his spare time on there.
