That T20 South Group is mental. Every team can still qualify bar perhaps Middlesex. Tough losses for the two South West counties today.

Essex on Thursday and Slurrey on Friday. Would be nice to knock both of them out with 2 wins.

They won last night to stay in contention.

4 teams on the same points - guess it might just come down to the weather!

First D/N test in England tomorrow - hopefully the floodlights are in fully working order!

Expecting much of a fight from the West Indies?

Cook and Root both passed 50 and pretty quickly. Some absolutely abysmal bowling from the West Indies though, compared to the bowling faced against South Africa must be welcome relief to England.

Better than most batsmen in the world never mind our top order. 2 of the top 5 or 6 in the world anyway without a doubt. Good chance cook will never ever get taken over as England's top scorer infact I'd say the only man with half a chance of doing it is Joe root. There's nothing we can do about our top order really , we've tried almost everyone and if they ain't good enough that's something we have to accept. Luckily we have cook, root then an incredible middle order and some fantastic quick bowlers. So we can still compete with anyone most of the time.

Indeed - where would we be without them!

Probably picking a different top 5 each game!

Whilst personal abuse isn't right if being called "useless" and told to quit is an example of the worse stick you've got as a player it probably means you have got off lightly in your career. compared to most sportsmen!

Probably not learnt much from playing under lights in this match - only going to last 2 and a bit days!

windies falling to pieces again. I'm pleased England are winning but this is all a bit pathetic as a spectacle. They need to find accommodation with their better players to actually play test cricket or they'll never be competitive again. I could probably pick two sides from the Windies superstars not playing in this series for one reason or another.

Have to agree, love seeing England do well (and everything they've needed to they've done) but this has felt like one prolonged net session for England. Just not competitive at all, hard to know what can take from this match.

Wonderful for Broady to pass Bothams record though, superb achievement.

I suspect the folks at Warwickshire are a bit gutted - probably hoped it would last at least 4 days but then guess its better than having 10 minutes play on the 4th day and having to pay out re-funds.

Isn't one of the Ashes tests under lights this winter?

Like you say Kieran - probably learnt more about the pink ball under lights in the net sessions they had!

Day one was us batting well - day two mostly rain and day 3 just easy wickets.

I believe it's the Adelaide test match that is a day-nighter. Be an interesting one that as traditionally Adelaide is always a good place to boost your batting average. Not so much this time I suspect.

Game over anyway. West Indies lost 19 wickets in a day there which is shameful from them. Pleased for England but this is a sad sight to see West Indian cricket like this. Not sure there is any it can be fixed either.

Wicb are destroying them as a cricket nation. They will become a non mandatory top 8 cricket nation. Where as we all play each other home or away every 2 or 3 years , west Indies will become every 6 or 7 years at best.

Yep, it's all a right mess. The ones I mentioned aren't the only ones not playing. There's loads of them. It needs sorting. I feel a bit sorry for those Windies lads tbh.

I feel sorry for the supporters more than owt at least them lads are still making a fucking fortune playing t20. When I went to Barbados for the test 2 years back so many of there fans refuse to watch them because of the greed of the players and don't actually blame the wicb

I meant the lads getting turned over in England. Some of them seem to have a bit of summat but getting hammered will do them no good. Having a Gayle there would help. I agree with you on the supporters though.

Windies were crap even when the likes of Gayle and Bravo were in the side (admittedly not as bad as this lot) - it's a much bigger issue than the WICB/Players dispute. This side wouldn't even look good in Division 2 of the County Championship.

We only managed a drawn series 2 years ago as well ffs. Although they've stooped even lower now. I'm going to headingley on Friday and I'm starting to really wonder why, but then I think oh well a day on the piss it should be ok.
