Should be great quality wise but how good is it for the long term future of the game ?

Who knows, I'm sure 20/20 probably had the same question Marks about it when it started.

Difference being the Counties were playing it rather than eight artificial franchises with the most embarrassing names and shirts in professional sport. This is without a doubt the beginning of the end for the 18 county system as the ECB look to implement an Australian style domestic structure in the future.

As a county cricket fan I won’t be going near Old Trafford to watch it. I’ll catch a few games on Sky but in terms of actual attendance, I’ll stick to the usual Blast game to attend like the Roses match.

Yes I agree but it's all about trying to get people through the door one way or another, attendances for 50 over matches are non existent so if this is a success financially I think its 100% over for that part of the game, heading that way now anyway.

Another win against the Black Caps in a Super over - they must hate the sight of it!

Decent start for England. Shame Joe Denly couldn't go on again.

England just ahead I feel but nicely poised. Vital we got Williamson out towards the end of the day.

Our day was summed up with Stokes dropping Watling on 31 I think and he then goes on to make 119 not out.

Probably going to be a draw now?

Just looked at next years fixtures. What a crock of shite!

Half the CC games done before the end of May, and no away fixture against Somerset or Gloucestershire in either the CC or RL.

Plus a few games which co-incide with England games during the Euros, and the final itself as well. You'd have thought they'd consider not having games at those times...

South Africa 277-9 at the end of the first day. Suppose it’s a satisfactory result having them 9 down having put them in.

Curran definitely the pick of the bowling. Going forward when the England selectors are looking for the sacrificial lamb to fit someone into the team it really needs to be someone other than him.

Oh dear - going to be trailing by quite a bit at this rate.

And Denley was dropped on 0 before making 50...

Bit of a fight back from the bowlers, 30-3.

Bowlers doing their best to give us a chance.

Can we clone Anderson and Broad?!

Decent fightback with the ball however realistically with our sorry batting SA if they add another 50 or so that should have enough.

Well they have added 60 runs without losing a wicket - Number 11 and debut middle order batsman doing the damage.

More damage to the health of the England players too - Root and Buttler the latest to suffer.

Good for Archer to get himself a couple of wickets at least. Problem once again is purely the batting, our bowlers are getting virtually no rest between innings thanks to their inability to keep their wickets in tact.

South Africa already way beyond anything we can realistically chase

These 2 are the key for us to have any chance.

Haven't the ECB ruined cricket enough as it is?

I suppose looking on the bright side at least we batted out a day for once. With the amount of starts our batsmen have had though it could and should be a lot better.

Well batted Ollie Pope though. Looks like he belongs at Test level.

Good day with the bat from England. Lead of 264 with 6 wickets in tact. Hopefully Sibley can go on and get what he needs for his hundred.

See if can push the lead to around 350 and feel comfortable with our chances then.

438 for South Africa to win. Brilliant from Sibley, that was a proper Test match innings. Wanted to see that from an England opener for a long time now. Allowed the likes of Stokes to play around him.

Surely gonna win now. We wouldnt be anywhere near this position though against a good side after another bad 1st innings, bowlers to the rescue again it was, very very good 2nd innings though to be fair.
