Biggest difference yesterday was the fielding from SA. In the first match it was dreadful, yesterday was more to the standard would expect from them.

I think with Roy it looks to me like his mind is too cluttered with how to go about his innings, maybe a spell out the side will do him some good. He’s at his best playing on instinct from the start instead right now he’s almost trying to play himself in but it’s not in him to play that sort of innings where he accelerates later on.

Just talking to a fellow who thinks the Hundred is amazing ~ well it isn't. Its destroying Test cricket as observed today. My opinion is backed by the cricket journo Derek Pringle, who was selected for test cricket while he was still at Uni.

I think that first test was a warm-up match for the second test. I'm confident that now the players have some red ball cricket under their belts they'll go on to win the series. I blame the Hundred!

Yes - was a much better performance helped by a bad SA call at the toss.

Stokes leading by example with bat and ball and Robinson making a good return .

Luke Wells, son of Olympic gold medal sprinter hits 65 ball century in Roses match. Possible opener for England. 31 now, but wasn't Alex Stewart getting on a bit when he made his debut?

Wait until England have to bat. These two lineups even if it’s just three days I’m fully expecting a result either way.

England 154/7 at the close. Yes they have the lead but to be honest the way they’ve batted has let SA back into a game they should have no business still being in. Two very brittle batting lineups on display. Says it all at no point has it felt like a draw was likely.

I think the game will have a positive result if the rain doesn't interfere too much. Most likely an England win, especially if they can get near to 200 (unlikely) they will be firmly in the boss seat.

Yes .

Poor openers and rash shots when well places at 82/2.

Well ~~ that was short and sweet. Even I didn't think those last
three wickets would fall that quickly. What was it ~~ 2 runs?

Every advantage England had in this Test has been squandered. Am all in favour of aggressive cricket but it’s a fine line between that and brainless. SA just as likely to collapse at any second but it shouldn’t really have to come to that.

Depending how England approach this you might not be far off on that call. 130 to win, should chase this down but this is a quality bowling attack and two openers who are not playing well.

Guess it depends what state the ball is in but you are right.

We'll probably be 2 down in no time.

33 to win and they call stumps for bad light. Cricket really doesn’t do itself any favours with stupid rules like this.

Shame no-one will be there tomorrow to watch the series win as I doubt many will turn up?
