Lol that is quality. This is the perfect example for this thread surely?

Not sure why Mr Jones struggles so much, just look at the league table. One and only one side has clearly been better this season. I’d suggest Stanley have gone about the job better than anyone lol

Stupid statement considering how far ahead Accrington have been over the season (and with far less resource), he also suggests they won’t be in league two for a while and have a squad to do things in league one which is risky even if they may do well it’s by no means guaranteed with some real big hitters in there with a lot of money. Going from the biggest budget in the league to competing with the likes of Sunderland who will dwarf there’s.

I don’t mind the confident/ slightly arrogant statement at the end, you have to back yourself and if not after promotion then when?

But the first bit is laughable , sounds like a guy who knows he’s thrown away putting a title on his managerial resume

Chris Wilder at Oxford said something similar when they got promoted finishing runners up to Northampton. Not sure why football managers say these things when they haven’t won the bleeding division!

Nathan Jones deserves a mention for this.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43857556

The best, most consistent side apparently, despite having 6-9 less points and having won 4-5 less games then Accy, (depending on how they do at Newport).

On sky sports news last night he added this to the above.

“When Luton are in town it’s a big game for everyone”

Kenny must love this interview with the Luton Manager, talk about deluded. It validates his thread in the most beautiful way possible

I sure recall Kenny reminding us all how that massive +GD they had meant they effectively had an extra point on board. So much for all those 7 and 8 goal wins eh. Doh!

But I bet it was nice being compared to Man City. For a while.....

I think any Luton fan would tell you he has a bit of screw lose to be honest. If anything he has got a little bit better than he was last season i think!

Was Michael Appleton who said that as Chris Wilder had led Northampton to the title in rampant form, head and shoulders above the rest of the division that's for sure.

On the local 3CR interview I sensed quite a bit of anger and pent up frustration at what had gone on.

Maybe not so much for this season but for what happened to you guys in the recent past.

Most managers big their own team up - all part of the ego isn't it?

I do sense a bit of Brian Clough-ism with Jonesy sometimes though. He does need to take it one step at a time and take a bit of advice from John Still: never too high, never too low.

There’s no doubt he’ll be a terrific manager in the upper divisions, but the quicker they rise the harder they fall.

It has played a part the GD, it would’ve been impossible for anyone to catch us yesterday even if we did lose to Carlisle. It was there as an insurance policy if we needed it.

Nathan Jones will always get a great reception at Yeovil for his 7 years as a player and coach - he played more games for us than any other club - but he does say some dubious things. I think Darren Way has been taking tips from him.

Way says there's really not a lot between us and the top teams like Accrington and Luton. It's only belief that is the difference.

"I'm sick of players trying, I want them doing. That's got to be the case next year."

He obviously thinks he'll still be our manager next year. Sadly he's probably right.

Jones is a smug prick. Rankled with me when Cheltenham scored in injury time against them. He was on Channel 5 show saying Cheltenham celebrated like they had won the World Cup.
Thought most fans and players go mental with a late goal ?
And then this gem

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....heltenham-town-horrible-place-play-763602.amp

Jones on Cheltenham
"They've got nine six-footers in their team and every time it goes dead they get it in your box. Every time it goes out of play it also goes in your box. "
Anyone would think the objective of the game was to get the ball in the back of that net thing that's in your box.

When they battled their way to a draw with us they celebrated like they had won the world cup.

This must’ve been in October(?)
Is it untrue?

Nathan Jones in being a little bit overexcited shocker. Has any Luton fan suggested otherwise.

A little bit overexcited = more deluded than most!

Where’s the humility Kenny? The thing you have craved on this thread since the start.

Tbh I think it’s very poetic that Mr Jones has got a little ‘overexcited’ lol

What are you expecting me to say? If I say one thing someone has a pop, and if I something else, someone else has a pop.

The bottom line is, Jones isn’t looking for excuses for being bummed x-0 like blaming budgets or officials. I think you’ll find after we got beaten by Port Vale, both the manager and the fans on here were very humble and praised the Valiants performance.

It's a lot easier to be gracious in defeat when you're almost nailed on for promotion, and I wouldn't expect Jones to blame budgets, would be ridiculous if he did.

You started this thread to lord it over the fans of clubs Luton have beaten for their managers being delusional. Why are you so surprised that everyone is pointing out that your manager is one of the most delusional of all?
