I'm looking forward to this game, it has the makings of a very entertaining match.

I think we've improved slightly in the last couple of games, particularly against Orient midweek, but injuries are starting to hurt us. Grainger will be out still, and Wyke is probably out following his recent injury, along with a few others.

Northampton have stuttered just a bit in the last week, 2 draws following a terrific run of wins. I still think they'll go on to win the title comfortably, but I think we've got a chance this weekend. A couple of their more influential players worry me, particularly up against McQueen and Gillesphey who could be exposed at fullback.

I hope it's Jabo and Asamoah (if Wyke is injured) up front rather than Rigg. I'd fancy him to score against his old club.

5-3 or 7-5 win.

Not aimed at you cufc17 but I love how two reasonable draws are a stutter. What a season.

Coming up on the rattler for this one, will have a few beverages and hopefully see the Cobblers win. Seeing that post about Carlisle's fullbacks fill me with confidence, D'Ath, Martin, Holmes or Adams can beat any fullback in this division on their day. Reckon we'll get back to winning ways, with a 2-1 win.

Would love big Derek Asamoah to feature, if you hear any drunk shouts of "AAAAAAAASAMOAH ASAMOAH ASAMOAH ASAMOAH AAAAAAASAMOAH" coming from the away end it'll be me.

Following 10 wins on the bounce, I guess I thought you'd never drop any more points this season!

I don't see it as being that entertaining a game, we've gone from the 'you score 4, we'll score 5' buccaneering pre-flood attitude to something more conservative, which is understandable given the tiredness that comes with playing Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday - Tuesday and this being the business end of the season.

We haven't looked too exciting recently and certainly now we have a mounting injury list and are up against the champions elect, I can't see us choosing this game to go back to playing liquid football... Northampton for their part seem more like they're clinical with the chances they get as opposed to creating chance after chance.

1-0 Northampton

This is one I desperately want us to win, not only because it keeps us up there but because we can be the team to end their undeafted run and get revenge for our defeat down there where we gifted them some very cheap goals.

Hope we knock them right down to Earth! We need to make them uncomfortable and really get in their faces and maybe cheat and wind them up too, no way should we show them any respect! We can't let Northampton play freely like Oxford and Orient stupidly did.

I went to the reverse fixture earlier in the season and it was a strange game.

First half we took the lead and I honestly thought we were going to go on and absolutely slaughter Northampton. First half we were causing them all sorts of problems, Asamoah and Gilliead in particular, but we missed good chances to make it 2 or 3-0, then Northampton equalise right on the stroke of half time...and come out second half and end up 3-1 up.
Finished 3-2 but we were awful second half after such a positive first half. Suppose that's a lesson that against the good sides you have to be on it for 90 minutes and take your chances.

Northampton have improved since then, so I'm expecting an even tougher game and probably a defeat. A point would be great.

That's something we still haven't improved on, just look at our match the other night.

I think we'll rest a couple of players for this one. I don't think Ibehre will start and Gilliead might not.

I seem to remember they'd been having a fairly average season up until that point. We were doing well and I expected we'd beat them. They leapfrogged us by winning and then just never looked back. Amazing turnaround they've had.

Ain't it just Shoddy. Good going forward and now solid at the back with two recognised, excellent strikers at this level, good formula to be working with!

On the treyn on the way up, AAAAASAMOAH

He has to play Asamoah surely? Wyke took a knock on Tuesday so not sure if he can play today and Rigg still doesn't look good enough for a play-off side, stick him up top with Ibehre and watch the hat tricks flow.

Efficient, well organised, hard working, clinical team.

It's easy to see why they get such good results. It's not an outstanding performance so far from Northampton but it's good quality in the right areas, from Martin in particular.

We are, somehow, still within a won game in hand of the play-offs.

This is our second season in league 2 and you are by far the best I've seen.

We actually had a decent go second half, but Northampton were so ruthless. Second goal was little but fortunate, but the others were well taken.

I've seen teams that are as good in terms of the quality of football, but no team as efficient and clinical as that.

I actually think you'd do ok in league one even if you didn't sign anyone in the summer.

I don't think he meant in terms of the whole season to be fair. Just that you didn't look as good when you beat us 3-2 as you have done later in the season.

To be fair you've improved about 700% since we played you earlier in the season.

Yep, best attacking side I've seen in the last 2 seasons, though I thought their defence was average. It's no surprise they're top and going up as champions with ease.

Our finishing was dreadful, so many chances wasted, whilst Northampton were efficient and so threatening on the attack.

Joyce is a weak link in our team, so poor on the ball. Grainger returning is a boost, he whipped in some cracking balls but nobody could put them in the net. I can't believe we're 3 points from the playoffs.

Decent numbers from the Cobblers, very loud throughout the entire match.

Bloody loved the songs aimed at Curle, hope he heard them! "When you played for England, we were all surprised". Looking at a tweet from our left back it certainly seems to be something they took notice of....#sitdowncurle

What the fucking fuck is happening to us?

I tell you what it's our chairman not selling the club to someone younger and ambitious who will actually try to take the club forward, how many more years do we have to put up with this stubborn old senile fool?

Apart from the York and Everton match just about every other home game this season has had a crowd of only 4000 odd and the atmosphere has been so crap, until we have an owner of the club who will be full of drive and communicate with the fans a lot more then I can't see us ever progressing from this shitness and brining the many fans back who have stayed away the last couple of years.

Sick and tired of this shit, let's see what happens in the summer as surely we'll break our pathetic club transfer record of £140,000 right?

I just heard recently that we could of signed Grant Holt a few years back but our same owner would not allow it so we were beat by Shrewsbury who paid a massive £150,000 for him which is way too much for little Carlisle Utd. That was not long after we had sold Garner and Westwood which would of added up to £2million at least, so where did that money ever go?

What a joke he makes us out to be.

I was stood right behind Curle and I couldn't hear any of the songs aimed at him. The only songs I heard were the "we're top of the league......", "up the football league we go" and the one about Hery's hair.

I don't know why you all got your thongs in a twist over that comment. I agree with him, when we played you at your place you looked a top 6-10 side at best. Based on today you've turned into a completely different team since then, so that rate of improvement has been surprising even to a few of your fans who I spoke to before the match.
