Yep, welcome back to them. They've been superb this season on a limited budget, like the conference version of Accrington. Happy to have a short local game as well, not got enough of those.

We usually take good numbers there, but we seem to lose every single time.

Probably be our biggest away following as we get slightly bigger allocation than at Crewe usually unless they’ve changed it.

Well done Macclesfield.
Two games stand out in the FGR v Macclesfield fixtures:
1, Jon Parkin scoring FGR 's Goal of the Season when he hefted the ball from the half way line and
2. Macclesfield ending FGR's historical 9 game winning run at start of 2015/16 season.

Looking forward to renewing rivalries against one of the teams closer to Nailsworth than most others.

Nice easy journey for me, especially now we’re down here again next season. Doh.

Maccs alright as a place, and we normally take a pretty good following, geographically it’s not far from Mansfield at all, just a pain in the arse over the peaks.

I was surprised they kept up their pace all season, but as forest green have proven, and macc did the first time, you can survive here easily enough with the right players.

Macclesfield can't stay away from us. We got relegated, and so did they the following season. We win the league, and so have they the following year. I think we've only been apart for two seasons in 25 years.

Big Keef and Butch will be smiling.

God reminds me of a recent FA Cup game when they thrashed us.

I’ve been to a league game some time ago. Macclesfield one of those really depressing places where all the old mills are closed but the people are so friendly and welcoming.

:bye:

Tranmere will surely be the ones joining us as they should walk the playoffs as the only team in form; Boreham Wood would be a "hilarious" nightmare.

Macc itself has probably improved a bit in terms of nice places to drink since we were last up here.

Would Boreham Wood even get 1000 gates?

Always liked Macclesfield, for no reason whatsoever, so great to see them back.
I'm the same had many decent away trips at Macclesfield love a good booze in Buxton before. Semi skimmed silk Has the Cat and Fiddle pub reopened yet ? Last time I was in that part of the world it was closed with no set re opening date? Hope we get you early or late as much as I love a terrace it's bleak in the rain!

Only because of away fans, I suspect. But they do seem to fudge the home and away figures when they're being outnumbered.

At least it's 6 guaranteed points against Macc next season should we not make the PO's!

I for one am hoping Tranmere do not come along with Macc.

Yep it's open now, as long as you don't go when it's snowing. The road up there can be an absolute death trap though!!

Just looked at some of the attendances as well macc only average 1,700 this year! Blimy. Just goes to show what a great job the chairman management and players have done, pretty similar to Barnet and Morecambe in league 2.

But with away followings to increase massively next season and being back in the league, they’ll probably follow the example of FG and average closer to 3,000 or so. Always good for the finances!

Congrats to Macclesfield, good friendly little club.

As far as them averaging as much as FGR next season I cannot see it myself, I would have thought an average of 1800 would be their lot if they were struggling like we have this season.

They are not a well supported club, however they have some cracking fans.

There are some surprisingly low average home attendances in League 2 as well this season

Happy to welcome Macc back, as already stated, Buxton for beers and food then onto to Macc is a good away game for us...... ideally early on or late in the season
