We had so much fun the other season uniting behind the common goal of forcing HG to be positive for a year if Carlisle United failed to meet his low expectations, I thought it might be appropriate (given our optimism inducing start to 2017) to try it out again.

First though, I think we need to decide between us, what thing we should set as the target Carlisle have to achieve in order for HG to do a forfeit. Options in the poll.

The forfeit is 10 minutes in the closet with Carver.

Take avoid relegation out and 24th out. That's already achieved.

Also take Matt Green out. The club has evolved since then and signing him wouldn't be an achievement, it would be more a sign of going the other way.

We'll cross that bridge if we come to it. So far nobody has voted for relegation and you should be pleased if people vote for buy Matt Green as it might mean you don't have to do a forfeit at all.

A forfeit would be a small price for success.

But by success I don't mean dropping 10+ places over the next 3 months.

I thought that 'fulfill their fixtures' voting option was a joke at first, but then I remembered about that 're-jigging of the figures' thing Curle was quoted as saying. I'll be very surprised if the FA lets this go tbh, although it would probably be a simple ten point deduction or something.

I'm glad that shoddy has hijacked my forfeit thread (even though he originally started it).

Let's keep it off subject, that's the way.

They're my boys so you'd best not take the piss out of them especially the one with the tash because he's hard and he'd welt you if I ever told him that you made fun of his tash as he loves it more than anything. So once again Fish, watch what you saying man.

You've got to be pretty hard to wear a tash like that.

Hey SHoddy what will HGs punishment be? Any ideas? It's hard to give someone a forfeit on a messageboard.

How about we make him post a picture of himself?

Well last time, when we were almost relegated, if we survived he had to go a whole season (last season) without saying anything negative, it was enforced by the mods and he was to be banned for a week if he broke it. That was the forfeit the board voted on so we can have another vote.

Thanks for getting this topic back on track :p

Don't think you were here that season, you only joined us when he was undergoing enforced positivity, you have no idea what he was like that season :)

I was here last season but I don't remember hating him much so yes you're right he was being positive.

We could make him have an awful avatar picture like something truly awful and cringy.

Didn't I have a financial forfeit as well, or was that something else?

I remember having to donate money to this forum due to us defying the odds and staying up

Ah that was an unpleasant trip down memory lane. Makes you realise how good we have it now.
I had a look at the relegation thread from that season a few months back. Given it was us, Mansfield, Tranmere, Cambridge and Hartlepool in the shit, relegation was the overwhelming preoccupation of this whole subforum. I think someone from another division even described the League Two forum as being just Carlisle and Mansfield fans talking about relegation.
