Alien: Covenant (2017)
I bloody well enjoyed it.

Life (2017)
I bloody well enjoyed that too.

Slumber Party Massacre (1982)
Tits, arse, humour (intentional and not) and gore all in abundance. Awesome.

Working my way through the Friday the 13th series at the moment as I've not seen them in ages. Watched the first five so far and reckon IV & V are superior to the first three though not to say I didn't enjoy the first three.

Friday the 13th binge has stalled at VII due to technical issues.

The Belko Experiment (2017)
Office workers at a Colombian tower block working for a shady company are forced into a fight to the death by sadistic scientists.

Also watched the Aussie mini-series Wolf Creek starring Gannicus off the Spartacus tv series. Would recommend.

I got a 7 day free trial of Shudder last week so have been making very good use of that.

Tenebre (1982)
Classic Argento, though I didnt like it as much as his others that Ive seen. Its still entertaining though, and one of the most violent and gory films I think Ive ever seen! 6/10

Hellraiser (1987)
One of those that escaped me as a kid, my nan was big on horrors and would always let us get one from the video shop, but we never saw this and Im not sure why, as I do vividly remember the cover of the box! Worth the wait though, fantastic storyline with great characters, violent, gory, and some truly horrifying monster villains. Brilliant stuff. 8/10

Ginger Snaps (2000)
One Ive wanted to see for ages, low budget surprise about two sisters obsessed with death until one is bitten by a werewolf. Really enjoyed it, quite old fashioned, and owes so much of what gives it a punch to the bond and characterisation between the two sisters before the werewolf strikes, giving it the kind of emotional connection all the best horror films have. Very good. 8/10

Also watched the documentary about the making of Fright Night. Really well worth a watch if you're a fan of the 1985 original, they've gone all out and it goes into real depth with all of the actors involved (except Roddy McDowall who died) and the actress who played Charley's mum as she has apparently dropped off the face of the earth!) and the crew and special effects team. It's one of my favourite films ever, not just favourite horror so I really enjoyed it.

Im usually not one for horror sequels, but there is the odd gem there.* Think thats on Shudder too so might seek it out!

*Is Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors the best horror sequel ever?

Deathnote 6/10

Netflix original film, a student finds a demonic book, that grants him the ability to kill people

not bad for a Netflix film, it's not taken seriously and has humour throughout, with very graphic deaths

Just booked to take my nan to see IT on Friday night. It was my nan who introduced me to Stephen King and horror films, feels like the circle has been completed!

Went watching Detroit tonight and there was an extended IT trailer...oh I'm so bloody excited!!!

The miniseries isn't that great when you watch it back, it hasn't aged well at all. Tim Curry as Pennywise though makes up for everything it got wrong. A truly scary iconic performance that is creepy even as an adult.

Same, I really enjoyed it too. Changed a few bits from the book, but all the important stuff was there, and done spot on. All of the casting was good, not just Pennywise. Loved it.

Watching it tomorrow. Assuming my friend doesn't cancel on me again. Better be decent, Kev.

Better than the original miniseries for me. Really, really enjoyed it. They got the kids spot on with the casting. Clowns don't scare me particularly and I was a bit worried at the beginning as it all seemed a bit quirky rather than scary and then it really started to ramp up a notch.

9/10

Definitely.

Whilst the kid who was in Stranger Things was great, I thought the kid who played hygiene obsessed Eddie really stole the show. He was awesome.

Gerald's Game
Really good, really tense, one of the better book adaptions even though I know little of the book. 8/10.

Friday 13th: The Final Chapter
Probably the best sequel in the series with part VII being up there with it. It's typical 80s trash with tits and blood and loads of enjoyment. 7/10.

Intruder
As far as 80s slasher go, this is right up there with the best next to the Prowler, copious Friday 13th flicks and The Burning. Loads of great gore effects.

This one follows a group of people stuck inside a supermarket whilst some guy slaughters every poor bastard in his way. 8/10.

Surprised by the 8/10 reviews for Gerald's Game, I thought it was ok at best.

I watched Gerald's Game last night, rated it about a 7. Couple of strange bits, but then it was quite solid throughout.

BTW on the Friday the 13th topic, its the one major horror franchise Ive never seen any of, yet the original seems to be ridiculous to get hold of. Nowhere streams it, and cant find it on DVD, yet can easily get hold of the remake and sequels! Sky Go actually had every single film in the series...except the first one the other week! The remake, Freddy vs Jason, all sequels...no original!
