I wish Curle would say how long Jones is out for.

If say he was out for 2 more weeks I'd say we could soldier on and scrap a few results until then, but anything longer and we need to bring in some cover even if it's a loanee.

Good three points, sounded like we created lots of chances but weren't clinical enough, and the defence didn't sound too convincing. Hopefully we add a few more bodies in January, allow us to really push on.

Nicky Adams is just an assist machine in this division, he's been so important. Kennedy also, he somehow always manages to grab a goal.

The team deserves a good crowd on Monday against Grimsby, looking forward to it already.

We're going down without major changes in January. Sheridan needs to go and take his hopeless signings with him.

We can't do anything right. Every ball into our box ends in a free effort on goal, every time we get the ball under no pressure we just chip it aimlessly forward. We can't even take a fucking throw in without it going wrong.

The only reason we're not well adrift already is because Stead and Forte are good and generally score when we accidentally get up the pitch and create a chance for them, but fucking hell the rest of them...

Maybe we can poach either of them off you next month.

Sadly Notts look to be in real trouble now, would be a shame to see them go as they're a great little club and a great away day. There's one thing in their favour though and that is they're not the only poor side down there at the wrong end of the table. It's looking like a repeat of the last couple of seasons with 3/4 really poor sides fighting it out to stay up, which is why I've always believed it should be 3 down 3 up from the connie.

On the evidence of today you need some defenders rather than anything else. Please take all of ours.

Forte was fantastic for us under Curle, thinking back to it.

Our defence is a concern but we could do with more quality in depth upfront.

I feel sorry for Notts County.

It should be 3 up 3 down, that I've no doubt it. 2 automatic and 1 playoff.

I believed in that idea when both in the conference and now.

Or nick the idea from Scotland, where the bottom 2 would go down and the 22nd placed side would go into the playoffs with the teams 3rd 4th and 5th in the conference.

Hartlepool would just win that every year.

Haha possibly.

But when we were down there Wrexham finished on 99 points and still didn't go up

I'll have you know statto that we finished in a very respectable 16th last season.

So neeer! :shifty:
You joke but you know it would give you something to play for, and put in your trophy cabinet.

Hartlepool United - League status playoff winners 2018,2019,2020,2021,2023,2024...

This was my first live Notts game of the season and let me tell you, listen up...we're wank.

Dickinson, Laing and Duffy are all abysmal defenders - all 3 are a combination of slow, weak and technically lacking to the degree you question how all 3 are even professional footballers let alone all ended up as part of the same back four.

Special mention to Michael O'Connor as well who was the least effective central midfielder I've seen since Mark Fotheringham. Just kind of sits in the middle, messes up every pass, doesn't track opposition runs, doesn't get close enough to win a tackle and then compounds that all by never seemingly getting forward far enough to contribute at the other end. He's a less angry version of Alan Smith.

If Charlie Wyke wasn't so much of a camel to miss two sitters then we'd have been dead and buried at half-time so it was painful to listen to Sheridan claim we were good in the first half but not in the second.

Front pairing of Forte and Stead is alright enough for me to not be that concerned about relegation.

Unfortunately, there appears to be no quick fix - we've somehow got a terrible manager and a terrible squad and both need addressing rather than fixing one or the other.

Our commentators were very uncomplimentary towards you, and you can see what a meltdown we had at the idea that we allowed you to lead in the first half. They reserved their most damning judgement for the way that your players were all laughing and shaking hands with ours at the final whistle as though they weren't taking it seriously.

Notts County should never have sacked Curle those years ago, not that I'm complaining! :cool1:

He still only comes in at third on Ray Trew's stupidest sacking list. Moniz and Short were even more mental decisions.
