That Gibbons doesn't seem to have a left foot from what I've seen in this game, does he usually play there?

Atmosphere is embarrassing.

How many fans are there? It’s a library

McKirdy as annoying as he is he’s some player. Coming back to haunt Vale here.

Nowt like Field Mill is it.

When 2 big clubs are playing the ground is rocking shock. Get to the tinpot game on the Sunday and they’re all sat on their hands.

PV have been poor but if we manage to survive Wednesday then McKirdy will have a field day with our defence!

Swindon the best of the L2 PO sides so far IMO (only saw the first half of Mansfield vs Northampton), although the quality overall has been pretty poor, much like the L1 PO's.

Port Vale's tactic here seems to be pass twice and make sure you go long on the third one.

Game on at Vale Park now thanks to James Wilson. Should of nicked a draw in the end but it’s anybodys now.

Frustrated as it was an avoidable loss and key errors cost us especially the first goal. Need one of those big nights under the lights at VP.

Saw enough to feel we can turn it round.

Still in the tie, but we are lucky. Not good enough today.

Don’t think we were lucky, we had enough of the play early first half and much of a second half but you don’t expect a bollock like Smith dropped.

Procs changed the game, he has to start Thursday.

Could have easily been 3-0.
Could of but could easily have been 2-2 at the end. They had two incursions in our box scored one second half there was positives but we’ve got to do a lot more going forward Thursday as we got into decent areas enough times.

Im frustrated we’ve lost but happy we are well in the tie considering it looked like we’d done too much self harm.

Overall I think I’m relatively comfortable with where we are in the tie. All I wanted was to get to VP still in with a chance and we have that. Only find out on Thursday how big that goal we scored was.

Felt like we had periods where we pushed Swindon back especially late on but Swindon could and maybe should have added to the lead themselves before we pulled one back.

In all I’d say it is very similar to the game at Mansfield. Thought Swindon’s home atmosphere was really good but judging by the posts above the microphones were clearly not picking it up. Not the best from us but would defy anyone make a racket in that stand.

re: mckirdy, don't really get all the stuff bout him being a shithouse and don't remember us booing him either. he played up to a few fans shouting at him once n that was it, didnt particularly celebrate in front of us either and at vale park Mental Cov rightly got sent off for booting him (and then rolling around himself, McKirdy was off the floor first) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Weird game, dunno how to feel about it but very disappointed with that first goal, and fucking hilarious that we scored almost straight from the drop ball after their CB cheated to stop our counter

Considering we only sent 100 tickets back there looked a fair block empty. Guessing some didn’t bother.

Feel for them sitting in that though.

Very bitty game. Vale dropped Proctor to match us up in midfield and get in our face and I think that the tactic generally worked as Reed and Payne definitely were not able to dictate play as they usually do. 2 cracking finishes from Mckirdy and he was basically the difference. Huge chance missed by Davison to make it 3-0 which probably would have been game over but a sloppy goal from our standpoint puts Vale very much back in it and I was glad when the final whistle went. Great to see a big crowd at the CG.

Think both sides were far from their best and only played well in patches. We should go into Thursday quietly confident, big pitch should suit our game and Vale need to attack (within reason) which should suit players like Barry and Mckirdy running into the flanks.

He never really played for us, was he the right type of character… probably not and loads of rumours regarding him and Mitch but on the chances he got he was poor bar a game against Liverpool kids (who we walloped 5-0 this season).

He is what he is, ignore him focus on yourselves, two good finishes but we made it far too easy.

Procs wasn’t fit. Had injections but wasn’t risked. Changed the game when he came on and we need to wrap him in cotton wool for Thursday.
