Feel good win today. Done the double over Pompey (but more importantly, Jackett!) and thoroughly deserved. Scoring so late made it feel like a cup final lol but, overall, I'm shocked at how negative and poor Portsmouth were. We've beat teams 5-0 this season that contributed more to the match than they did today, where the only ambition seemed to be to try and grind out a 0-0. Which thry so nearly did! Bradford and Scunny next up, dare I hope for four points from those?

In addition, it was said last week that Bury fans thought it hilarious that we bought Michael Smith from them, which had me worried. Well today, when he came on, he made a real difference. Showed good control in possession and also put the cross in for the winning goal. What was so funny again?

Smith is shit, trust me. Not good enough for League Two, let alone League One. He'll work hard but there's no way he'll score more than five goals for you this season. Or next, for that matter.

I just got back from the game. Gutting to lose in that manner but it was coming. Jackett's tactical switch didn't work and only one team was ever going to win it (although if Lowe passes to Naismith instead of shoots, who knows?) - We won't finish in the top six with the attitude we adopt in away games.

I just don't understand why Jackett made our midfield weaker when it was clear that Rotherham sussed out were were susceptible to corners and crosses from wide. Richie Barker could work it out, it was that obvious so I have no idea why we didn't do anything about it.

Like I say, gutting to lose in the 92nd minute but can't say we deserved anything from that game.

Thats our first away win in nearly a year, not scored in over 15 hours before today! Please don't take this away from me.

Think we helped Gillingham and Vale get over similar year long droughts. I know all L1 clubs say this but I genuinely believe we are the most accommodating in our incompetence.

Anyway, we can't complain about you taking the three points off us so don't let me spoil it.

Bradford were one of the best sides we played earlier this season. Not sure what's happened since then. Maybe a few injuries but haven't all teams got a few of those at this stage of the season? Think they had a few back who missed the Northampton game last week according to the pre match on the radio.

I know our last 2 goals came fairly late but if anything 3-1 flatters Bradford. I thought we were the better team in the first half and probably deserved to be in front but an unfortunate slip resulted in a penalty that saw us have to come from behind for the second home game running.

Once we got the equaliser there only looked to be one winner. We put them under a lot of pressure, 17 shots to their 7 and 8 on target to their 2. Other than the penalty our keeper only had to make one save. Harrison should have made it 4 when clean through which would have been a fairer reflection of our dominance.

I think we must have played Bradford at a good time because they've been in the top 6 all season and prior to yesterdays results had the best away record in League 1 so they're clearly not a bad side.

What's happened at Northampton?

We won 6-0 at their place back in October and even Hasselbaink admitted it could and probably should have been 10+ such was our dominance and the clear chances we created. We even missed a penalty.

Have to say I thought they were nailed on to go down but they really seemed to have turned it around.

...since when you and Oldham have become our bogey sides. You beat us home and away last season and tanked us 3-0 at your place this season.

Lovell has 30 points from 16 league games since he took over and we have won the last three but our scrappy equaliser against you at our place over Christmas was another high point for us.:2thumb:

We'd been left with a squad with no energy, no pace and no width by Edinburgh and it was dreadful to watch. Jimmy has been backed in the transfer market superbly and has quickly brought in players to fill the gaps. We'd always had a decent spine with Ash Taylor, Matt Crooks/Grimes and O'Toole with Chris Long up top but now we've got the rest of the team to go with it.

2 pacey attacking fullbacks have made a real difference and we've started scoring goals now we're getting service to Long. I personally think we'll finish well clear.

Said it before but what a job he has done. That performance at ours this year has to be one of the worst five I've seen in the football league. Thought you were sure for the drop.

I don't think you'll have to worry about us much. If Alexander keeps playing a stupid formation with an attacking midfielder at RB and a CB at LB we don't have a chance.

Having only seen him for a few minutes, I'm in no position to argue about Smith, but what you describe reminds me of Alex Revell. I'd take that tbh.

It's true that everyone suffers injuries, some probably have more than us such as Charlton. But all season our fans have being under no illusions that we lack strength in depth, especially in defense and it's now really started to show. We had no full backs so played with two young wingers as wing backs, and two fit centre backs, one of which is 34 year old Killgallion who's not played this many games for years and Percival is now over 30. Due to have to play wing backs we had to go 3 at the back, something we haven't done this season and forced us to play a midfielder in the 3 as we only have 2 CB's. As for the first choice Goalkeeper he has being out since November now and his two standings have about 15 professional games between them, and look non league at best. All this means the shape of our team has totally disappeared in the last month and the defense is totally fucked, we'll continue to let soft goals in unless something urgent is done.

Going forward we had Wyke back yesterday and McCarten (who i like the look of, and has been our best player last 3 games but didn't get on the pitch on Saturday for some reason) and Poleon to come of the bench, so attack wise we are still fairly strong and could have nicked something at 2-1 if Vincelot had scored his free header right before you went up the other end and scored.

Knowing all this, it's great that we are being linked with every striker under the sun and no defenders, truly got our fingers on the pulse atm.

I'd happily have Chris Maguire back. Can change a game in an instance and scored plenty for us.

I'm sure you would, just as most shakers would drive the bugger down to Oxford.
Strange isn't it how some players are like God's at 1 club and absolute shite at others.
The number of the latter one at Bury this season is beyond a joke, something very wrong at Gigg this year.

I'd also point out to Bury fans that Reilly looked class on Saturday. Hard-working but with decent technical ability. Involement in a couple of our goals. So, cheers for that.

He started off well for us tbh. Dawson getting injured straight away didn't help him and he's never had a capable partner. I think he needs someone to do the majority of the dirty work for him to flourish.

To get the best out of Maguire you just have to stop passing to people who aren't Maguire. There were a couple of times on Saturday where he had the ball and you could see him waiting for people to make runs that just didn't come. That said, you beat us with a set piece and a long ball so he will struggle to add to what you're good at.

We’ve decided to hand Donny the match on a plate by not changing our lineup that lost 3-1 to Gillingham. We were shocking then and I expect us to be once again.

We are starting with the dreaded diamond, can't remember the last time it worked, probably with Jon Stead and Hanson up front.

Don't normally go into games so negative, but I feel like we are staring down the barrel of a gun tonight.

We are down to the barebones we’ve got a 17 year old on the bench who played 90 mins in a development game this afternoon

What a great start, Lawlor balls up again
Well we gifted you a draw Saturday so be thankful and I am still not sure our keeper took the ball over the line from that nudge.

Scunthorpe wont have any problems tonight.

Well however you’ve managed it, thanks for taking points off of Shrewsbury & Scunthorpe. That’s 2 decent results - why are you not higher in the table? Plus you won at our place
