Cracking win against a poor Oxford side. Their goal was the only real shot on target I remember which came from a mis-kick from our GK.

First half I felt we deserved to be drawing but the 2nd half we were superb, much the better team.

You were not superb, you were functional. We were so/so in the first half, and shit in the second. I thought Charlton were a much better side than Rovers last week, and we beat them. Sometimes a certain team, or style, suits another side. Charlton's style suited us last week, your more direct style didn't suit us this week.

You seem to have the indian sign over us at our place recently, just like we have over you at yours. Enjoy your big win, we're both destined for mid or upper mid table. Sooner we sort out our management and ownership situation the better, as we're drifting through this season at the moment.

Our big win? That's like saying I enjoyed my big cup of tea this morning, sure it's nice, but three points at the Kassam is just becoming a routine.

Yup, my two sentences on the victory are a huge indication of my joy on beating the mighty Oxford and your paragraph on us only being functional, it being our big win, "Charlton are better!1!!!1!", Rovers are just direct, we'll finish around eachother anyway etc etc don't make you sound at all triggered.

Fully expecting us to lose to Wimbledon on Tuesday night, they ALWAYS beat us at our place and we don't have a great record on Tuesday night's at home. Also, the referee is supposedly Brett Huxtable. ****

I gave an opinion. Apologies if I didn't bow down at your feet and claim you to be the next Barcelona or Brazil.

Said it how I saw it. If you don't like it, tough shit.

I didn't go to Plymouth but by all accounts they matched us also. The difference between the sides were two moments of quality from the best player in the league.

Yes. Lose count of how many Oxford fans I've seen call us mediocre, average, direct, etc, after each time we beat you at your place. Says a lot about your team if you keep losing to such a direct, physical, average side, eh?

Wigan were superb, you were mediocre/average etc.

Beating a poor team clearly makes you world beaters, watch out Barcelona. :ffs:

Please, stop trying to take away the glory of our big win.

I had a look at some attendances this season, Oxford's home attendance is 15% lower than ours. In fact, the overall attendance with 1,800 away fans was still lower than our average this season. Therefore the Oxford fan is right to point out that Saturday was a very big win for us. In fact, I'm still amazed that we're in playing in the same division, it really is an honour.

Rovers fans really are a strange bunch.

On the one hand they apparently don't care about beating us, but on the other they are crowing about it and trying to take the piss. Make your minds up, which one is it?

Last week we beat Charlton. Nobody was on here, or their forums, trying to take the piss, we just got on with it in the realisation that we're both (upper) mid table League One football teams, same as Rovers. We were shit on Saturday, particularly the second half, you beat us fair and square. Well done. You are not Barcelona, and neither were we last week.

Or do you all have an inbuilt inferiority complex that comes with being the second team in your own city?

There are worse things than being the second team in your own city, like for example, being the only team in a shit town and still being irrelevant.

When did we ever say we don't care about beating Oxford? You don't half talk out of your ass

I care about beating every team :hypo:

In fact it seems to be some bloke called eric who started the nonsense about 'big win' - sounds awfully bitter to me. All I did was post how I thought we were superb in the second half and you got all sh*tty about it  You're also the one who is stating we're not Barcelona on multiple occasions now

At least we are second as you call it to a Championship club unlike yourselves to a club in the conference south.

Was I right in thinking Scunthorpe played in different colours to their usual home strip yesterday ?

Orange and blue, after the corporate colours of our main sponsor, British Steel. Good way to advertise for a company that saved the skin of the iron and steel industry in Scunthorpe. The Government couldn't be bothered about the high EU business tax rates and the dumping of cheap state Chinese steel, so it took a venture capitalist to buy it from the Indian company that owned the business. Turned it around and concentrated on its core skills and produced profits and now introducing apprentice schemes and job opportunities. The company was renamed British Steel and they became the Iron's club sponsor. As part of this, they sponsored a new full kit in their corporate colours.

Personally, I think the colours are fantastic. However, the corporate names of the colours are more suited to the Scunthorpe steel mills than its football club - Molten Orange and Cool Blue :bg:.

I absolutely agree with you. We had a full season once where we were apparently so fortunate that we played every other side on the day they turned in their worst performance of the season, all the way to automatic promotion. It was never that we’d played well, if you went by the comments on the league forum of the time (then called Two View). The comment from a Scunthorpe fan above stating that they had now played shite against Rotherham twice this season is the same, maybe there is a reason? There’s nothing more one eyed than football fans. RealDons seem to have blown up since they demolished Bradford, I think we broke them.

I thought Rotherham played us very well in both games this season and fully deserved their victories. Warne is no mug and worked us out. He knows that we have been challenging around the top 6 for the last two seasons and are in there again this season. He can see that we are a decent side, organised and experienced. What he did to us was to nullify those periods of the game when we get on top, start playing some tremendous front-foot football and basically win games with short spells of dominance. For me, it was not that we were shite in both games, but Rotherham outplayed us tactically. Warne 2-0 Alexander.

When did I say anything about us about being world beaters?
Simply pointed out how bitter you lot are, now you're making shit up
Oxford fans just need to accept the defeat and move on, rather than pointing out how shit we are every time...

Yes. I was disgusted. It was nearly Hull City’s kit. One of our local rivals. Shit kit, shit town, shit boys. Letting The Berkeley get taken over by Rotherham was pathetic. I was crying coz I was gutted.

Why was that? Was it because out kit had blue in it, or another reason?

You're the one who is getting his knickers in a twist. Others have gone on that you were "superb" when you really weren't.

You need to accept you were mediocre as I have said, didn't say you were poor, I said we were poor.
