7th Exeter(39) - 61 points. Cheltenham(A), Macclesfield(A), Port Vale(H), Crawley(H), Stevenage(A), Oldham(H), Forest Green(A)
--------------------------------------------------
8th Colchester(40) - 60 points. Oldham(H), Bury(A), Grimsby(H), Yeovil(A), MK Dons(H), Lincoln(A)
9th Carlisle(40) - 58 points. Bury(H), Stevenage(A), Lincoln(H), Grimsby(A), Crawley(H), Yeovil(A)
10th Swindon(39) - 57 points. Yeovil(H), Newport(A), Oldham(A), Cambridge(A), Crewe(H), Cheltenham(A), Notts County(H)

From the top down, Lincoln stutter against Macclesfield, but still reach 80 points and guarantee at least a play-off spot. Plus they keep a decent gap to those below them, so not a terrible day in which of course the important thing was marking Keith Alexander.

MK Dons are up to 2nd and need to keep their foot on the gas with the teams behind them keeping pace. Should be a heck of a game between them and Lincoln next week. A win for them puts the title race back on, anything less and I think you can give it to Lincoln. Bury slip up and lose Mayor for 3 games as well. Not good. Still, some winnable games coming up to bounce back with.

Mansfield get back on track with a comfy win at Exeter, with most of their remaining games looking favourable. Automatic bid back on? Tranmere keep rolling and don't look like they can be stopped. Beat Oldham in midweek and things get very interesting.

FGR's home form continues to drag them down. Still, 2 strugglers next, good chance to mostly wrap up a play-off spot. Exeter get trounced on home soil, but have a run of mostly winnable games coming up, so they too have their fate in their own hands as we approach Easter.

Colchester bounced back from their recent struggles with a win at Cambridge and are right back on the heels of FGR and Exeter. You feel it's important for them to get 4 points from their next 2 home games. As for Carlisle, they continue to slowly drift off the pace as some of their fans predicted. Looks like a promising season is slowly turning into a missed opportunity for them.

And finally, I'm adding Swindon back in after their impressive win at Bury. Back to back wins, a nice run in. Maybe I was wrong to completely count them out. You do feel their inconsistency will come back to bite them, but if they can put together a good run, they could still make a run. Only 4 points behind Exeter as well.....

If we can beat Crawley, Macc and Cambridge that would give us 70 points. Chuck in a draw or nick a win from 1 of the other 3 and that should do it. Problem is we're shit at home, so Macc and Cambridge are hardly nailed on.

If it goes to the last day we're fucked. We're too easy to play against at home, we won't beat Exeter.

Think we would need at least four wins from the remaining six, and with Bury (A), Lincoln (A) and MK (H) still to come, we can't afford any slip ups in the other games. Must win all three home games and at Yeovil I would think.

Yesterday's 96th minute winner has saved the season somewhat, think it would have been curtains at 0-0.

As you say JJ1532 - if Lincoln beat us next week then it's safe to say they're Champions in waiting (if not already).

Reckon we need 3 wins from the remaining 6 games to secure autos, can't see Bury, Mansfield and Tranmere all doing worse than that given all of our respective run-ins.

At the moment I see it as: 1st - Lincoln, 2nd - Mansfield, 3rd - Us (just).

Taken this from our forum, but from it you can see where the base or issues lie.

We have a small clutch of home draws against lesser sides, MK seems to struggle away at mid-table ones, Bury don't like playing away at bottom half sides and neither Tranmere, and particularly Mansfield, fare well away at bottom half/bottom third teams.

Got to say our run in looks ‘favourable’ but that defeat to Crewe, Port Vale, County etc suggest we do struggle against the poorer teams in the division unfortunately, especially at home when they play for a point.

8 points needed for us for promotion, but that's assuming worst case scenario results I think so it might dip 2 or 3 points over the next couple of weeks.

Our away record is a red herring. Completely changed since Christmas.

Also can someone show me the birth certificate to prove Perkins is 36? Bloke probably sprinted a triathalon as his warm down.

Considering Bishop has the most interceptions in the entire EFL or something daft like that, and he’s nearly 38 shows it’s possible.

Yes, exactly. There is no point looking at our form pre-Christmas and trying to extrapolate to the remaining games, as we are a completely different team now, in personnel and form. I have no idea if we will go up automatically, but it is a possibility.

Perkins is unbelievable.

I think Perkins had 20 yesterday, half of them in the opposition half.

Never doubted him...

Lost it after being kicked for the hundredth time this season, stupid really as the challenge itself wasn't that bad. He does have a bit of a temper when things aren't going his way.
Andrade did similar at Swindon when he lashed out.

Did say last week that Mansfield weren't out of it, going to be quite a battle for those 3 automatic places.

Not like Bury to lose at home and cost me £350 for not scoring 2 aswell. Not bothered about what those around us do at the moment aslong as we back yesterday’s win up with another 3 points next week.

Think we’ll need 81 points so we need at least 4 more wins. Can still see it going down to the last game for us and MK.

I bet on tranmere mk and bury all to win for about £96 off a tenner, I was kinda secretly hoping I didn’t get my money back!

to be honest i think we can we seem to have that something thats difficult to describe , confidence , belief , momentum yes leading goal scorer helps , i think we dont play a certain way that is easy to stop only time will tell , if we beat oldham then i will get really carried away ,,,,,

I'm unsure we will make the autos, the bad spell with away games didn't help.
The first season back in the FL and getting into the play offs is a brilliant achievement.

We didn't play for a point in fairness! We went at you from the start and only sat back at 2-1.

That said we are currently in "promotion form" over the last 6.

Got to say incredible effort from Tranmere, didn't even look play off contenders seven or eight weeks back now in with a shout of the Autos.

Hi Devon Lad :bye:

We are back (probably only temporarily.

I certainly didn't expect us to win at Bury so that was a nice surprise. Good to read some positive reports from Bury fans that we deserved the win as well.

Kayne Woolery seems to have FINALLY found his mojo!

Swindon were excellent today. We were not. Massive game Tuesday.

Nice to hear opposition fans giving us some credit. Kudos Mr Dust.

Canice Carroll (who was the player who put in the challenge) is a real shithouse windup of a player and it wouldn't surprise me if that was his gameplan.

Its a compliment to Mayor that the only way to stop him is illegally but understandably this can be bloody frustrating. I can't say I wasn't pleased when I saw he had been sent off, a stupid reaction, but you can kind of understand it (if that makes any sense!)

Wonder if he was the player who wound up Andrade at your place ?
Fouled Andrade then Andrade kicked him.

Wonder if Oldham will turn up tomorrow? Probably water the pitch again.

If we play at the same level as we did second half on Saturday I’d be surprised if it wasn’t a very one sided game. Hopefully no complacency though.

That was Kyle Knoyle, our right back. If I recall correctly it was a clean tackle by the touchline and Andrade decided to just lash out and kick Knoyle - in fact I looked back at the BBC report (which I know isn't gospel) which seems to backup my memory -

"The game really got going in the 33rd minute when Bruno Andrade raked his foot down the Achilles of Kyle Knoyle after the Swindon right-back won the ball fairly and Andrade was swiftly shown a straight red card. "

Your indiscipline really cost you that day, the other lad who was sent off was on a yellow and just decided to be a gobby prick to the referee. Silly behaviour really.
