25 years isn't that new. I can remember when Huish Park opened back in 1990. How time flies!
But I can't really see what they need to do to it today in 2016.25 years isn't that new. I can remember when Huish Park opened back in 1990. How time flies!
Yeh,it's a terrific ground, the County Ground. One of the best things Pavis did for us was a proper and good job of the renovations to Meadow Lane.
Our ground is one of the best in the lower leagues in terms of mixing a bit of soul with new modern grounds. It has good facilities and makes a fair bit of turnover from all the corporate facilities. I do miss the 5 a side pitches that used to be behind the kop. They were class as a kid going to the soccer schools
And Nott'm Forest to West.Bridgford.
Seriously though, you have to take each case on it's own merits.
To me,Barnet's new gaff is too far from Barnet to keep that name.
Thanks. You're too far removed from humanity, but I bet you still claim to be human.
That ramshackle old stand should've bitten the dust years ago,in all honesty.Planning application for our new grandstand has just been approved. Work is supposed to begin in the Summer.
For me, the plans are a little uninspiring but I appreciate something needed to be done before our current grandstand became a complete right off and not fit for use. At the end of the development, if funds permit, we plan to revamp the away end with a lovely new roof so that's something you can all look forward to.
But I can't really see what they need to do to it today in 2016.
They're heading back to non-league with a big enough capacity and enough seats, terracing, roofs, etc so their gaff's complete,I'd have said.
Well obviously we're hoping not to go back to non-league but to be honest our ground isn't good enough for the National League.
It's more about developing the land around the ground and generating income from that. The council keep knocking back our applications on the basis that they will lose community sports pitches etc. and also that it would cause traffic chaos. I can see their point a bit there as it's already ridiculous trying to get away form Huish Park on a matchday. It's mostly down to the fact that the estate across the road from the ground which had a couple of hundred houses on it when HP was built now has a couple of thousand.
Don't be silly about your ground not being National League standard when there are grounds like Wellings' at that level.
It seems that your issues are more about making Huish Park a venue that generates income for the club 7 days a week.
It's like some pauper's San Siro stadium! There is literally nothing good about our stadium redevelopment. Every stand is shit in its own way, we've halved our capacity and hemmed the entire thing in with flats so it can never be altered. And now we don't even own it. Dreadful.
