Its not just the stadium though is it?

Pretty sure they are opening up the river, new music venue with bars, restaurants as well housing.

Not sure i do. Hes gobby. And prolific. Maybe we'll warm. Maybe he'll warm to Luton. He was pretty snappy in the tackle when we played them in the Cup last season and has carried on. Respect he takes what he gives tho.

Kenny, what they building around power court, near the church? Bars etc or nowt?

That boozer still open near Easyhotel, think its the Prince of Wales?

There are two around the corner, The Great Northern and George II. The latter I believe has undergone a refurb and I always have a good time when I end up in there.

Hopefully once Power Court is finally built, there will be some decent boozers for away fans to go to.

He’s not a Luton fan or a resident of the town, so not like he would know what’s going on around the site. Bit harsh.
He knew that the area was called Power Court, so I'd be surprised if you knew the name of the site but didn't know what actually was going on!

It's a brilliant site for so many reasons. It will have the stadium of course, but flats, a supermarket, a music venue, bars and restaurants. And all within walking distance of two train stations and a busway. Away fans are going to think it'll be a breath of fresh air.

It'll be moving day in 2022 (possibly).

Will be interesting when other teams traveling through by train decide to stop off on the way down to London or up north first....

I'm heartbroken, I had high hopes we could be cuddle buddies.

Unless you change at Leicester there's very few direct trains from the North, suspect a lot will do London and travel in

Just looking through the list of teams for next season. Even if we had Power Court built to it's maximum permitted capacity, we'd still have the 3rd lowest capacity in the division. This league has changed immeasurably since we were last here.

It has in the crazy amount of money that is filtering down now but we were hugely punching above our weight last time we were here too.

Last time we were in the division the clubs included Sunderland, Birmingham, Derby, West Brom, Wolves, Southampton, Preston, Stoke, Sheff Weds, Palace, Cardiff, Burnley, Norwich, Leicester, Hull, Leeds etc. We did well in our first season with momentum from promotion but the squad was picked apart by other teams in the same division with budgets that dwarved ours second season (ably assisted by our asset-stripping owners at the time of course).

Luton have said that their next aim is the Premier League, but my goodness they’re going to have to go some to get there. Project 2025 perhaps?

The way money is going, it seems as if the PL is almost only available for about 30-40 teams realistically.

We are pleased to announce two new shareholders with Kailesh Karavadra and Rob Stringer investing in Luton Town, and it is with some sadness we report that Mick Pattinson has left his position as an associate director.

Both US based. Can’t say I know much about the former, but Rob Stringer has been around the place a lot and probably has been putting a few bucks in already. He is David Bowie’s former manager and you could argue a big rival for Simon Cowell as CEO of Sony Entertainment. He earns shitloads so a good person to have in the tent.

Saw some people claiming Stringer is worth 22 billion on social media last night which gave me a very good chuckle!

Doubt he is massively wealthy and certainly not THAT wealthy, but like you say good to have more onboard.

Was at a Latics Man Utd legends charity game today and had a brief chat with Graeme Jones. Said he was looking forward to next season and specifically mentioned the Power Court plans being a big reason the Luton job was so attractive. Asked if he was going to sign McManaman and he said “no comment” with a laugh. That’s the extent of any exclusives he gave.

What’s the craic with this guy? He seems like someone who is going in the wrong direction in his career. And would he fit into our system? I think we’d need to bring some cash in from a significant transfer to fund his wages.

I have no idea why he didn’t play more last season, because whenever he did he made an impact. Only Paul Cook knows the answer. He is injury prone granted, but he still has that ability to win a game on his own on his day.

Personally I think he needs a manager who believes in him and who will give him games. I don’t know if Luton need a direct attacking winger/second striker but not many know him better than Jones.

Remember* when he played for West Brom against our reserves/youth team in the checkatrade (spit)**. He had a penalty saved by our third choice keeper, Craig King, who afterwards said that he could not believe just how obvious McManaman made it as to where he was going to aim for.

* No, I wasn't there.
** we won 2-0.
