As unpleasant as it may be I think the best thing that could happen is if they run the score up on us, make it 4 or 5. I don't want Brown to have the "we just need a bit of luck" excuse which he has been pulling while we were just losing the previous games by a goal.

Games gone so may as well. Fucking disgrace that this is where our club has fallen. Hoping we lose a league two game to force a change. Rumours are that he's lost the dressing room, Coventry fans saw it Saturday behind the bench and a fan on OVF who knows and official from that game has made some interesting comments.

Vale are utterly toothless.

That's because we don't play any sort of attack under Brown and have 4 centre halves playing tonight again...

Sounds like the keeper made two or three decent saves which is more than we have been managing during our 600 minute barren spell!

Vale are utterly toothless.

This is not a new phenomenon, it's been ongoing since he's been here.

Never before I'd imagine has a squad had so many wingers yet play with absolutely no width whatsoever.

And four full back who don't get a game!

Hearing Pope is now at centre half and Smith up front WTF?

We have just reached peak Michael Brown!

Hopefully one final desperate act. Il be gutted if this isn't the end! Saturday won't be pleasant for him if not!

Don't know how true it is but on Twitter it says we haven't scored now in over 600 minutes of Football. Unless of course you take the own goal and well beggars can't be choosers.

Efficient victory - nice to get back to winning ways but certainly more to come.

Feels wrong to say it but fairly happy with that outcome. The lowest ebb in the 20 years I have loved this club but hopefully the bottom of the trough and the embarrassment can be eased with the end of Michael Brown, Chris Morgan and Ned Kelly at this club.

If he has any pride he will walk after tonight, six wins in ten months. Shambles.

How can any defeat be a happy outcome?

Because it should rid us of the cancer, well part of it anyway. Many Valiants felt the same tonight. It was a pain that was needed for the long term benefit.

We weren't great really but Port Vale were really pretty poor, so a fairly uneventful 2-0 win. We had a lot of possession but we don't really seem to create all that much with it to be honest, can't think of a chance that either Hylton or Collins have had in the last 2 home games which is a pretty poor waste of their talents.

McCormack was the standout player tonight and Berry also looked very good to me. Everyone else a bit muchness. Shinnie is very easily brushed off the ball which is annoying as he always looks like he is about to slip in a dangerous ball.

Still don't think we are quite right but can't complain with a pretty routine win.

Referee to blame this time, two reds not given for an elbow on Davis and head butt on Worrall and a stone wall penalty not given which then led to the second goal...

The latest in Browns book of excuses... but it's ok we will beat FGR... not with you in charge!

He surely can't survive a 6th straight defeat and a 5th game without scoring?

I think he will be gone tomorrow. Something has to change before we are left adrift.

Complete and total bollocks.

Now I didn't have the best picture on my laptop but the head butt seemed to come from a Port Vale player and the elbow incident was Joe Davis play acting after a misjudgement of the bounce of the ball.

Probably... wonder if Brown will claim the FA sent him a letter apologising like after the red card against Crewe :bg:

And literally half a second beforehand was all arms and elbows on Rea who didn't react at all. Embarrassing from Brown if he is pointing to that really.

He makes any excuse usually we lose 1-0 and hit the woodwork and have the one of the line so he hides behind that, although he mentions hard luck over the own goal and the second being a cross (although haven't seen the second yet, og was crazy though!)

Issue is from what I heard about the second had we actually played a full back it may have been avoided and we haven't scored in 6 games so if you don't score you can't really bemoan luck.

If he isn't gone by Saturday il need Samaritans! Great call on P&G last night, never been this low in my lifetime (32 years) and only hiring a proper experienced manager twice since the departure of the legendary John Rudge is laughable. Oddly both those managers won something, Brian Horton the LDV and Micky Adams promotion! All the other managers we've had are out of the FL or no longer managers!

Can somebody like Michael Brown really complain about a few elbows and physical combat - think he made a career out of it?

He is running out of excuses. Every game has seen a different excuse. There are none left now so it's time to go.

He ran out of them about six months ago, haven't seen the elbow or head-butt although the penalty is nailed on, the pictures show he is practically rugby tackling ADF... think ADF wasn't happy as he was accused of diving so has taken to Facebook to rant about it. Make your own luck and we've not had much including last night with the o.g which was baffling but we shouldn't be needing luck at this level!

Perfect opponent for Luton after the whole fan base seemed to throw a hissy fit on Saturday. Nice, easy stress free win.

McCormack was outstanding but have to be concerned about his disciplinary record, 4 yellows in just 7 games. He's going to miss a lot of games through suspensions this season.

Brown typical excuses every game they could have had 2 sent off we should have had a penalty there wasn't alot in the game the 2 goals were flukes. There's no excuse for a poor record of 7 losses in a row no goals in 5 rock bottom of league 2 just 6 wins out of 33. Just admit your fucking shite and fuck off.

I didn't think Port Vale were as bad as people on here make out. They created chances and Stech had to pull off a few decent saves. I would agree however that the manner of victory was still comfortable. At no time during the game did I think we would lose. McCormack was outstanding. Won everything in midfield and was instrumental in the second goal. Still concerned that Hylton and Collins were once again shut out by the oppositions defence. NJ needs to look at how we can get these two strikers more involved in the game. The other concern is our obsession with passing the ball around at the back which invites pressure. A better team than Port Vale would have punished us. To sum up a comfortable win but still a lot of work needed if we are to challenge for the auto spots.

And he does himself absolutely no favours. He has been pushing his luck in too many games already this season - eventually it will cost us.
