Here come these league clubs thinking it will sooooo easy to drop down here and expect to be part of the battle for mediocrity. Think you'll be in for a big surprise at the quality of this mid-table battle.

I doubt we'll be that surprised as it's not so long ago we were in "the battle for mediocrity". And we'll need some changes if we aren't going to be at serious risk of dropping into the National League North. But I'm not quite that pessimistic yet. Don't see us doing a Cheltenham either.

Big 4 points for us over the weekend to re-ignite our mid table title challenge. 5th place is currently on 68 points and 21st is on 39 so Barrow with 53 are in pole position at the moment.

Happy to buy your team a pint!

The lowest we can finish now is 11th.. so fortunately for Gary Brabin cannot win the mid table title.

Looking at the table, Lincoln are 12 points plus a massive goal difference behind 5th with 4 games left, and can't be caught by the relegation sides. Therefore, I believe that as long as they dont win and Tranmere lose on Saturday they will win the mid table cup!

damn we got too good ;)
but If Lincoln win (they are playing Chester after all...) and we beat Macclesfield do they get it?
or if that happens and Bromley lose at Alty..... do Bromley win?

Actually having a look at the table if Tranmere win there could be a lot of sides who are confirmed in the league for next season after Saturday's games. I think if we beat Halifax and other results go our way that would confirm us too. I guess it could come down to which game finishes first on Saturday (or multiple joint winners)

Lincoln and Bromley confirmed now for next year. Barring mahoosive swings in goal difference and a miracle, Barrow , Aldershot, Woking and Southport also in.

No were fine, Boreham Wood cant catch us and neither can Guiseley despite them not being in the relegation zone so we are confirmed too!

Congratulations to Lincoln and Bromley on their joint midtable cup triumph!

Congratulations to Lincoln and Bromley on their joint midtable cup triumph!

Guiseley can still catch us, as can Alty.

EDIT:- I see what you mean, for us to finish in a relegation spot Alty, Guiseley and Torquay have to will all their remaining games, but Torquay still have to play Guiseley and Alty, so it is impossible.

We are, therefore, mathmatically safe. Hurrah.

Not quite for us. Even accounting for the matches between teams below us we could still be overtaken on points, but it would take a very unlikely set of results for that to happen. A Torquay win over Alty on Tuesday and we'll take our place with the elite of mediocrity.

We're almost there now. Mathematically we can still reach fifth but that would rely on us winning all our games and the teams above us losing all of theirs. Our place in the division next season will be confirmed if we fail to beat Dover on Tuesday.

Now Barrow if you want our pies to still have a chance to be here next season you're gonna let us beat you right?

What a nice little collection of failed Football League clubs and non-league no-marks. Sums this league up perfectly!

I'm very unimpressed that this competition has finished so early before the end of the season, was really looking forward to a final day nail biter to decide true mediocrity.

Surely this needs looking at by the powers that be.

Welcome along for next season, it would feel kinda odd if we don't play against you guys.
Only once since the 97-98 season have we not met in the league.
