Dale away, then the games against Sheff Utd I guess.

I remember going to Blackpool in August a few years ago but we lost and the night out afterwards was horrifying, never really tempted me back after that especially now I like quiet pubs and real ale.

Have to agree with Bartonyellow as regards our most looked forward to home and away fixtures. Sheff Utd obviously due to the Clough connection and Vale away, Vale because I have lived in Stoke and its my second home.
What would top both of them though would be a cup draw against the sheep up the road !

Shrewsbury Away was absolutely quality the season before the one just gone - hard to believe we were there celebrating all but confirming staying up in this league - and now 14 months later we've gone and walked the league, and found our way back to the Championship.

Aye - when you get a taste of success, a first league title in 60 years, and a JPT in the same season, if there was ever a time to cockwave as a L1 fan - surely it's now?;)

Yes, but have you just retained your star striker despite rumours that he would play league football????

Forget about Payne, I've seen Cesc Fabregas getting familiar with the surroundings recently at Kingsfield Stadium, optimistic - but potential summer transfer target?;)

Kingsfield Stadium :dk:

He would have to adapt to our style of play for sure, he's not used to passing it about like we do :woo:

Pretty pointless signing midfielders in Non-League aye - it just gets bypassed by 60 yard diagonal balls from the 37 stone Centre Half who's hungover as fuck from a proper good night out on the piss the night before.

Erm, although the league is very Northern, there isn't really a derby fixture to look forward to, really.

Top Five:

Wigan - just because it's easy to get to, and they have a big away end to fill like last time.

Bury - always a decent screw with these over t'pennies.

Blackpool - I personally love 'Pool. Bad memories from the last time we played there, though.

Sheff Utd: Yorkshire Derby that doesn't feel like a Derby, as either set of supporters aren't bothered about either club. Always take 2,500-3,000 though.

Rochdale - for no real reason, really.

Burton without doubt. We'll sell out the away end, short journey, beer and a new ground.

The Burton fans are gonna be getting a right hard on reading this thread but I'm also gonna have to say Burton. A few reasons why:

- the ground is actually closer to where I live than The Bescot.
- its a piece of piss to find and park up
- decent fans with a much lower percentage of **** fans than ive seen anywhere else. Also a tightly packed small ground with reasonable atmosphere for the size.
- the away end is a small, absolutely cramped old school terrace. I watched Notts County in there from the Burton side as a neutral day out a few years ago and Burton had just basically said fuck it to health and safety and allowed a free for all in the away end. Probably about 2 and half times as many fans in there than would be allowed by modern day standards. Looked a good laugh.
- I was lucky enough to be at the Burton 5-6 Cheltenham game a few years back and couldnt stop chuckling at the mad finish and entertainment of the game. Always associated the place with games with goals when ive been.
- A huge jinx but expect to do well against them next year so hoping for a 4 or 6 point haul.

Yeah I think Burton are the club who care least about health and safety in the entire football league.

Unrelated but last time I went we won promotion and a fat steward was going absolutely mental at our fans, not sure why but he completely saw red and had to be restrained and led off the pitch by his colleagues. It was all rather amusing. Love going to Burton.

The away end is supposed to house 1,800 and I think you get 300 seats adjacent to the away end so that you are all together.
We will look forward to you all coming to the Pirelli stadium ! Plenty of good pubs, The Beech is a designated away fans pub just a 10 minute walk from the ground as you approach from the north(as most fans will next season) ! The Great Northern and Wetmore Whistle both in Wetmore road entertain both home and away fans and are a 5 and 10 minute walk to the ground. If you come by train its a left out of the station and 1st right and a straight 20 minute walk to the ground with the Prince Alfred and Derby Inn en route. Don't take the 2nd right after you have left the station as you may think you are in Pakistan.
Albion fans are generally friendly, most of the "ed the balls" go off to watch the sheep, the trees, Wolves, Villa or Blues. The ground is well stewarded and policed. In general you should be able to enjoy the game without too much hassle.
