That’s why.

If we lose at least it be a bit interesting and a shock. Sick of drawing.

Don't worry, you've still got the guranteed late goal we like to give to everyone to come yet.

That goal will be good for Smith's confidence hopefully. Nice to see that we can actually equalise against teams once we've gone a goal down rather than always conceding again.

All well and good having about 60% possession but this is ridiculous.

Undefeated is the only positive, we have not won in the league since the opening day and that's not good enough no matter how you put it.

Quite simply that wasn’t acceptable from Mansfield, it was bloody awful.

Macclesfield we’re absolutely hopeless, yet we managed to match them in that, then achieved the honour of becoming 2nd best in the 2nd half. It was absolutely shocking.

Nothing in midfield or upfront, no creativity, no movement.

The managers made a big difference in the game, their manager made 3 subs at half time and changed their game, flitcroft stood there and clapped like a demented seal, and actually made us worse with the subs (though of course the players take ownership there also).

In short, were a bang average league 2 side and nothing more

Despite saying Macc were terrible (which they were, but so were we, so not in a bad way) I think they’ve enough to stop up if the link play from midfield to the forwards and the finishing is better.

Obviously I’ve no idea what aspirations Macc have, but I know that’s all I wanted when we first came back up.

Good bunch of fans too, been a decent day in Macc.

The problem is Yates doesn't know what team or formation is best.. Starting think he's getting there though.

I hope we have a ‘plan b’ formation wise - playing 352 every game will not get Mansfield promoted, all depends on who the opposition are.

Playing the way we are with the formation we are, the minute we play anyone decent we’re fucked

Not necessarily - Colchester are better than decent IMO. But yeah we have mostly played the teams that you expect in the bottom half.

I saw your posts in stagsnet and know you’re as unimpressed with things as I am.

What concerns me is that he’s a poor win record over 2 seasons with different players. Yes we’re only 5 games in, but to not beat one of Yeovil Macclesfield it tranmere is pretty poor

Also I know Macclesfield have never been massively supported for this level but I thought they got more than that? It was not far off split 50/50 between the two sets of fans.

It seems lower than what you used to get in the league.

was chatting to a few of their fans in a pub across from the station who saidnthere were factions in the fans - something appeared to happen near where the players came out forwards our left around half time, and also that dispute the promotion their chairman isn’t popular at all.

That came from a few fans, so whether that’s the accepted view of Macc fans isn’t for me to speculate, but 1400 home fans on Saturday is pretty lame.

That said, Accrington got that last season and won the league

I’m not keen in the slightest, but. apparently that’s makes me an idiot to some

He’s a league record of 3 wins in 17, a win ratio of an epic 18%

Not quite, West Brom on Tuesday not affect that whatever the result but if we do not beat Carlisle next Saturday it will begin to ‘start’

The assumption was that’s we wouldn’t lost to tranmere and Macclesfield, which we achieved, both sides were pretty average (being polite) but we were no better at any stage against them. What was expected was 4/6 points and we achieved 2.

The home fans aren’t a patient lot in the first place, but failure to beat Carlisle and the fans will readily turn on him, given his abysmal record at the end of last season.

I don’t really care if he beats 3 championship sides in pre-season and the Accrington In the cup when you’re lucky to hold onto a draw against some bloody donkies from macclesfield.

He needs to get his house in order, now.

We got around that last time too.

It's only the away numbers that put our average above 2000 at league two level. In the conference its usually 1600-1700.

Its shit, but always has been.

A positive from yesterday is a 18 year old academy product was handed his debut and did fine.

Otis Khan is really good too, club is going to make some serious money from him.

Pretty poor from us yesterday but it’s still an away point and at this stage I’m not going to panic.
