The rate at which former Carlisle players are falling out of favour at Huish Park is increasing. Took Paddy Madden a whole year to fall out of favour while Bezza was considered surplus to requirements by the end of his first season. Poor Mark Beck hasn't even made it to Christmas. Whoever they sign from us this summer is likely to leave Carlisle and be on the transfer list at Yeovil before he reaches Keele services for a mid-journey shit.

At first glance this seems like a winnable fixture, and indeed it is one we should be winning. However so was Newport and home and they remain the only team who have prevented us scoring in the league this season so I don't really care to try and call which way this will go.

For what it's worth I think we will win this, perhaps not convincingly but that won't matter so much. We'll keep ourselves on the shirt-tails of the play-off race until Christmas and then either kick on and enter the race-proper or have a disastrous January and resign ourselves to a mid-table spot we'd have happily taken had it been offered to us before the season began.

Think this could be our last game sans-Jabo, our record without or main man has been:
P__W__D__L__F__A__Pts
7__3___2__2__9__9__11
Which you know what, isn't all that bad really, considering most people in this division probably had us down as a one-man-team who would find it impossible to score goals without Jabo. If we'd had 11 points after 7 games this season we'd have been 9th. As it was we had 12 points, and were... 9th. There's no shame in having a talisman who you are weaker without, I'm sure most teams in this division have a player in their squad who they need fit to seriously challenge. I think we've improved in some respects as a team without Jabo simply because we haven't been able to expect him to score constantly, we've had to step things up a level, play in different ways and bring in new players. Add Jabo back into the mix and we can improve on that.

Yeah, we should be looking to win this one, Yeovil aren't on the best of form.

I'd like to think we're capable of scoring 3+ even though our goals have dried up a bit recently, whilst Yeovil conceded 3 at home to Cambridge at the weekend.
We've not won by more than a single goal all season (though we've also only lost by more than one once), so possibly wishful thinking.

Any idea when Raynes will be back fit? We'll have Miller back for this following his suspension, and Dicker will probably replace Joyce (assuming his suspension isn't overturned), so probably a few changes.

I'll reserve my score prediction for the time being, but I think we will get the 3 points.

Even I think we'll get 3 points here.

If we don't I'll be fucking furious.

You'll win, don't worry about that. Sturrock has said this week that he's up for a relegation battle which says a lot about our mindset.

One bright point has been new signing Ryan Bird who's scoring well considering our position. His 6 goals in 17 games make him joint all-time top scorer of our current squad...:brill:

Will Beck play a part do you think? If so I'm going to have a fiver on him scoring.

Been confirmed today that Stephen Arthurworrey has had his season loan from Fulham cut short due to injury. Bugger.
He went off in the Mansfield game and needs knee surgery. Only CB pairing option is Sokolik & Lacey which isn't great.

Are you suggesting you aren't in a permanent state of fury? Even when we win your reaction seems to be one of incandescence.
You must be imagining it. When we win I'm on top of the world, I'm in dreamland.

If I seem angry when we win then fuck knows why. I certainly don't post anything negative apart from maybe after the barnet win.

Not negative as such, but you certainly come across like you've just kicked a window in in celebration :p... a certain Temuri Ketsbaia about you.

I'd go 4-3-3 for this one...

Gillespie
Miller Atkinson Troy Grainger
Hery Dicker Kennedy
Gilliead Wyke Asamoah

Assuming Raynes is still injured.

How the hell did I forget to stick Atkinson in? He'd replace Gillesphey.

Hopefully we won't make the same mistake twice, and that one was off the back of a tough 120 minutes at Anfield with wholesale changes.

I'm hoping we approach this one properly so that if Yeovil do take the points then they'll have had to play very well to earn them.

I really do think we'll win.

Now it's match day I'm starting to get the feeling this might end up being 0-0. Don't ask me why!

But I'm sticking to my guns. We will win 2-1.

Embarrassing
Arrogant
Inept
Clueless
Hopeless defensively
Shite

Words to sum up that half of football.

How that Ellis was part of a promotion winning back 4 last season beggars belief.

We are truly shit at home. We've had one good performance here in the league all season and even that wasn't fantastic.

Absolutely zero chance of playoffs if we don't book our ideas up at home.

3 points are all that matters. Delighted with them because our first half performance was a disgrace.

Second half was better but Yeovil still had chances. A top side would have put us to the sword today. But in all honesty we could and should have scored 5 today.

Ellis looks too weak to me, gets knocked off the ball quite easily for a centre back. No better than Troy or Atkinson in the centre back roles on today's evidence.

What disappointed me was the arrogance that was so obviously oozing from our players today. They strolled out and didn't start with any tempo whatsoever. I think they thought Yeovil we're going to be complete pushovers.
If we're going to challenge these plauoff spots we need to make Brunton park a tough place to come, we give far too many goals and glaring opportunities away for my liking.

Shambolic start to the game, they scored 2 and could've had another. Like the last home game, we started slow and lacked energy, though after 20 minutes or so we came back into it and were in control in my opinion.

Second half was one-way traffic, though they did threaten a few times. I'd have been gutted had we not won.

I thought Wyke and Hope both had great games, held the ball up well and created chances. The referee and the linesman on the East Stand side were particularly inept.

Solid performance bar the first 20 minutes, and a much deserved 3 points. Still in touch with the play-offs.

I thought we were poor until half time. The passing was slow, hope wasn't making the same runs as he did second half and the deliveries into the box were crap. Second half was much better although still a bit dodgy defensively.

I agree about Wyke, barring an atrocious miss after doing brilliantly to control, he was excellent all afternoon. His first touch was on point and he showed off some great skill at time. That today is why Wyke is streets ahead of Rigg. (Some people think the opposite).

Same mistakes defensively, good character to comeback but this way were playing is too risky and I don't think our defence are good enough on the ball to play the passing game, see how we're doing by Christmas. If it's still shambolic at the back and we're no higher in the league then he has to spend spend spend!!

Believe me lads you've got a cracking defender in Mark Ellis, he took some time to settle with us and partner Dugdale and Davis whilst he was here when he signed for us but was a very good defender who was unlucky to be released.
