Even though we lost I am positive for next season as we will keep coming back no matter what.

It's a result that frankly sums up our season. At key times there have been key errors caused by inexperience, naivety and flagrant stupidity.
Are you Carlisle in disguise? You certainly look and sound a lot like us. I saw your defending for their first goal, makes our defence actually look competent.

Pluses from today are that Gillespie had a good game, bounced back well from his poor game on Sunday, Jason Kennedy shows that he will always score those goals, and John O'Sullivan is really coming on well I think.

I know most fans view Carlisle as being desperate to have a rivalry, what with being so remote. But a quick look on Troutlaws and it's about 90% gloating Watford fans, so I'm glad we don't have that to deal with at least.

Funnily enough after Luton's game against us I said they reminded me of us.

I think both teams have some very capable players for this level but both teams have gaping holes in their team with players not good enough for a team looking to get out of this league.

A few key signings for either side could make the difference next season. That said I think lutons manager will be backed more as I don't believe our owners want promotion "as much".

I actually nearly felt sorry for Luton, the playoffs are cruel.

Then I saw Ollie Palmer on the ground, and I remembered he's a c***.

So then I didn't feel sorry for Luton

So fun being involved in the play offs, we have had so many poor seasons over the years it is good to finally have been a part of them after so long.

Well done Exeter, deserve to go through to the final. Hopefully you beat Blackpool in the final, can't lose that game next season.

Typical Carlisle giving us hope and then giving it away in the last minute. Can't fault the desire, never give up and fight to the end, just a shame we've lost it like that.

Onto next season...

Absolutely fantastic games. Such a shame for the two teams that lost.
All 4 teams a credit to the division.

Championship play off games played by footballers on tens of thousands a week and who sell for millions and they are boring as hell. Both league 2 play offs have just shown them up. Bloody prima donnas!

No offence to Luton, I've enjoyed our battles over the years but so glad that that cheating twonk Hylton missed out on the final. And no, I didn't like him when he played for us, thankfully briefly.

Exeter promoted please?

Felt close to tears when that winner hit the net. Carlisle beat us 3-2 in November, scoring in the last minute to send us to the bottom of the league. We were at our lowest and so was Tisdale. Now, 6 months later and we've secured a trip to Wembley.

I love this club.

I hope Exeter win the final, Blackpool have got no fans and the few they do have whine about their club even though they're in a play off final, try being in Leyton Orients position ffs.

I quite enjoyed Wednesday vs Huddersfield myself.

Totally echo GOG's comments, I am emotionally drained after that...

We looked comfortable for the majority of tonight and should have scored the second much sooner, particularly when Joel Grant slalomed through the defence and somehow missed. Watkins' second goal was a beuty and I thought that had seen it up.

But, fair play to Carlisle, they never ever give up and got two quick fire goals which took some doing so late. At that point I was so gutted and could only see one winner.

Then, Jack Stacey who's not even our player scores his first goal for us with his weaker left foot from 25 yards. These things never happen to us. EVER!

The celebration on the Big Bank when the winner went in was insane. I think I travelled about 10 yards without touching the ground....superb.

Then we were on the pitch at the end and somehow ended up in the Old Grandstand (for the final time), which was lovely as it's getting knocked down later this year. And to top it all I won a few quid on a four fold.

Unlucky Carlisle, you gave us four very tough games this season and it was an amazing semi final.

Onto Wembley now, just hope we can finish the job....

Tisdale, I take it back, you have turned things around when I thought you had no hope. Love this club.

Meant to add to my post above - knew we were fucked when we brought on the complete non entity useless prick that is Jordan Cook. I don't normally have such strident negative views on our players but what the fuck was Jones doing with that substitution?

If Cook is here next season that will be my canary in the cage moment with regards Jones.

I'd have blackpool as slight favourites because as I said at the start of this thread they are the best team I've seen this season and have the best players of the 4 playoff teams.

But Exeter are miles away and blackpool is a good away day, so I'm rooting for Exeter in the final.

Have to say, I wanted to avoid Blackpool. They looked decent at SJP earlier in the season and seem to be quite a strong unit with some decent players.

It's going to be a tough game and the nerves are kicking in already.

Him even being on the bench tonight was annoying. If I was Jake Gray I'd be handing in a transfer request sharpish, Jones can't wait to drop him even when he's contributing whereas Cook waltzes back into the first team as soon as he is fit enough to hit yet another corner into the first defender's shins.

They have excellent players, but there is a weakness about them defensively which hopefully you can exploit.

Totally agree with this. Gray has been getting a bit of a kicking on people's keep/get rid lists that have come up but he has been treated like shit by Jones imo. When he has had a few games on the trot he has at least had an influence on games and looked ok if a little unfit at times.

As for Cook according to wikipedia he has made 35 appearances this season, could have fooled me...

If ever there was a telling stat it's that Jordan Cook has made 35 appearances for us in midfield this season, what the fuck.

What will Blackpool fans do for Wembley? I think they've had some good away followings this year and they're only boycotting home games so I assume they'll be well supported there?
They won't be going. Oyston gets 25% of the gate receipts from Wembley so they'll be boycotting once again. I'd be surprised if they take more than 5k.

Luton's goalkeeper cost them the tie. Accountable for three goals of the six Blackpool scored over the two legs. I thought he wasn't much cop at Blackpool and he managed to get even worse this time. Blackpool's keeper wasn't much better mind, I reckon I could command a penalty area better than he could. If Exeter have any brains they'll pump long balls into the box at every opportunity at Wembley. Kenilworth Road proved how powerful it can be when Luton have a big crowd in, referee was intimidated into giving many decisions their way including the penalty.

After his nightmare debut on the day we signed on him out of desperation on deadline day, he hadn't put a foot wrong until this week. Sign again of inexperience and lack mental strength.

Just seen the dive. I've been saying it for a while that Hylton is a piece of shit, glad everyone has seen it now on national TV.

Referee has got to be spotting that.

Our big crowds should be an advantage. Don't be bemoaning that when many a manager has come down here in the last few years trying to use it against us!
