It will never happen, but good to hear Jeff Stelling calling for three promotion spots on Talksport just now
Still not getting it, are you-Ok, listen up everybody, let me explain it to you, in the simplest terms i can:

MORE promotion places means MORE relegation places, resulting in even MORE Football League clubs down here! This isn't fucking rocket science. :ffs:

I followed my recent good luck ritual of no booze before or during the game. I then ran outside to the bottle shop as soon as we won and it was ...closed. I had a fucking cup of tea instead. Extra strong cos I'm solid.
You don’t want it enough. You should be deathly today.

What's needed is for the Football League clubs down here to ditch the "we'll get out of here sooner or later, it's only a matter of time" attitude and to step up. Aren't you ashamed that a mickey mouse outfit like Sutton can sneak in ahead of us all, when they didn't even particularly WANT promotion?:dk:

Yeah I should be, you're right.

I have booked the next two days off work mind and I won't remember much of them come Thursday.

The Hartlepool posters on here seem like good lads so congratulations to them.

Fewer congratulations to the Tory loving owner…

Might be for the best with us announcing Dave Challinor as our new manager this week.

I would be heartbroken if this happens after yesterday, I think the chances are looking slimmer now we're back in the EFL but won't be entirely relieved until you announce someone else.

2 Hours after it was announced (17/06/2020) that we were back in the EFL - Bolton put in an official approach for Ian Evatt

Either way you'll know this week I'd imagine, I can't see us waiting any longer to announce someone. I guess the Challinor rumours have circled because we've taken so long to announce anybody. It would explain the wait anyway and he's fairly local to the area.

I'd feel a bit less bad about it now as well considering you've just gone up, but my inkling is that it'll be someone else. We've probably just gone through a very complex interview process.

It might you know. No disrespect to some of the teams in League 2 but there are big clubs in the NL which i am sure, for the rep of the EFL they want back.

2 more good sized clubs relegated again this season and 3 smaller ones promoted.

Edit i mean Harrogate, Barrow and Sutton

Possibly LEP, but I can’t help but think the turkeys won’t vote for Christmas

you can have Gareth Southgate in a couple of weeks - and his name sounds slightly Welsh....

Imagine if we'd lost that way yesterday, the squad decide to leave for the likes of Stevenage then Challinor joins Wrexham. I would've petitioned the exec to kick you out the Brotherhood for that but that is no longer our jurisdiction.

Pretty sure Master D is now leader of the exec.

As Chief Rocka says I think we've got more chances of keeping him now but I'm sure he'll be demanding more money is spent on retaining or attracting new players. Rightly so, what he's done is a miracle.

He did say yesterday how vital the promotion was on and off the field in terms of plans and keeping hold of a load of players.

It'd be a huge risk for him to jump ship to us in my opinion. Basically jacking in a guaranteed shot at being a football league manager. If it didn't work out with us it could be a while before he got that chance again.

Personally I'd be ecstatic if it was him, but I can't see it.

I dunno if you heard it but his interview after the game was a little bit disconcerting, he did talk again about being linked to numerous jobs but said he hasn't received a phone call from anyone, wants to speak to the chairman regarding medium to long term vision, probably just angling himself for a deserved pay increase.

I honestly don't see him leaving us, I'd be amazed if he does.

I can’t see challinor jumping ship now. Why would you? He’s wanted the football league for years.

It would be with your budget and all going wrong for him. If I was him I'd be looking to consolidate us and then move on. Or if he really fancies, getting the club back to the top end of L1. Okay dreaming now.

Mustn't have caught that. I have heard rumours that he doesn't like Raj Singh and was furious with the budget at the start of the season. If you notice he never praises the owner in interviews

No chance he comes to us now you're up. There's no proof we even want him! Whole thing is based on bookies going onto Red Passion and seeing a name that is being talked about. Rest easy Brother.

Definitely think we'll be appointing a nerdy xG obsessed coach like Notts and Stockport have done.

By the way... for all those Pools fans who were booing (and I heard much worse) Jake Andrews yesterday when he needed extended medical treatment...

look away now if you're squeamish....

I don't think they were booing him for faking injury, they were almost certainly booing him for refusing to come off and stopping play for 10 minutes, which is fair enough I think. It's a playoff final, we all get that you want to play but you can't sit there for 10 minutes and get stitched up on the pitch. Fuck knows why they ref didn't step in and sort that out, was a ridiculous situation.

It also completely screwed Torquay over. They had all the momentum and it gave Pools time to have a bit of a team talk and a breather.

Absolutely devastated yesterday losing that . the game should never have gone to extra time . Was at the game behind the goal and Hartlepool just shaded the first half. Disallowing Camerons goal was unbelievable. We were all over them as the second half came through and how Waters missed that sitter and its 2-1 ad game over. Absolute scenes when the keeper scored. Penalties is always maddnes for most. Howeverf Wright and Waters both missed the target, unforgiveable. Well done to the Poolies.
