I'd give it 50/50 as to whether we'd even get there at the moment.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not throwing a fit of panic as I know you can be pretty shite and inconsistent and still make the playoffs, but we're on a poor run at the moment.

Still up for grabs down to 11th after Tuesdays results. From a football point of view it's a superbseason. For involved fans it's

Tell that Jolteon to upgrade his Excel. The newer versions allow more than 10 columns

It’s alright he can just replace those that have already won the league like Rotherham, Wigan and Wycombe with those in with a shout with games in hand.

We’ll see.

Bets looking alright for now.

Odds have dropped from 150s to 14s in a matter of weeks.

Whatever happens, ending the season on a high puts the club in a great position for next season.

I think he should've extended it to 12 columns personally.

It really does feel like we've shot our bolt this season. Paper thing squad in crucial areas, just devoid of confidence and looking mentally and physically drained.

All reliant on players like Broadhead and O'Nien returning and we may manage to scrape enough points to sneak back in.

But you're still sixth. To me it was almost like you gave up afterthe Bolton fiasco game when you were still 3rd. I know you have big aspirations as a club but sacking your manager when placed 3rd seems utter madness but that's as seen from the outside.

It depends, if you have a clear plan to replace the man you sacked and there are reasons for it then it can be rewarding, see us in 2012, sacked Gary Megson whilst 3rd and appointed Dave Jones shortly after, he led us to promotion, I didn't feel Megson would have.

Well Sunderland certainly didn't have a plan in place.

Big chance to make inroads to the top six on Tuesday if we can put Burton away.

We're looking at a crazy 21 day gap between Wycombe (19th March) and Cheltenham (9th April).

Bolton on 26th is international weekend and likely to be postponed. Rotherham have reached the Pizza Cup final which scuppers our April 2nd game.

So we're likely to lose all momentum and then face playing 8 games in 22 days. Can't see us making it now unless we can somehow rearrange those two games within that 21 day gap?

Our local rag has speculated that we may be able to squeeze one of them in on April 5th which would shorten that gap a bit. However, we may have to play the other one on April 13th, which is the Wednesday before the Easter weekend. That would be 4 games in 9 days. There aren't any other slots available.

I can already hear the hamstrings pinging!

Hope Plymouth make it in, felt bad for them after Lowe fucked them over mid season. Can't see past Sheff Wed to win them though.
Can't blame Ryan for wanting to get back up north.

Every season down here games in hand have stopped momentum for the autos pretty much. Wish we had them now but in all seriousness playing that many games in run up to play offs totally fucks ya team up, injuries, losses and all due to so many games in such a short period. I’m gonna predict now that if wigan/rotherham go up top two mk dons will win the play offs, if mk dons/rotherham go up top two Oxford or sheff wed will win them.

Is there a team that has a good playoff pedigree? Ours is shite,
100% promotion record in our 3rd tier play off campaigns.

Less said about the record in the league above mind.

I don't think it matters unless a club like ourselves have been in them in recent history with some consistency.

This would (in theory) be the third successive season in the playoffs. This time around I think it's a good omen. I have always felt we were a bit out of our depth/likely to be outclassed, particularly last season. So I don't think I expected success.

What I would say is that it is probably a benefit this time around (unless like Portsmouth the talk of playoff doom and gloom hampers everyone associated). Last season we were totally ill-equipped and handled the occasion badly both tactically and in our preparations.

IMO had we not strengthened this time around (subject to making the PO's) and improved season-on-season the last few years I think the mentality of losing could play a much bigger role.

No, at least he had a decent reason (being a northerner) unlike Mr Martin who fucked us off about a year after we gave him his managerial break.
Scouse.... Not Northern.
