Awful performance and game today. Really frustrating as Birmingham were rubbish too. Warbs' call to play the same side as Tuesday backfired as some of the squad players didn't look si good when they weren't up against a pub team.
We really need a reaction and a win on tuesday at home to Huddersfield. Waste of a fantastic chance today to move up the league. Getting a bit nervous seeing Wolves and Forest over our shoulder.

Still don't think we'll finish in the top two but we're certainly having a decent shot at it.

I hope Martin is back for Saturday and Thorne for the Norwich game, if so even after our poor performance I'm confident we'll go up auto.

If we stay down another year, think the chance is over potentially. Mac will go to Newcastle, and I don't really know who else could take us up. But I don't want to think about that currently, that can come season end if we don't go up.

Will Derby be in trouble financially if they don't go up this season, their wage bill seems to blow other teams out of the water? Being able to call upon players like Darren Bent and Tom Ince in January to freshen the squad up in unheard of in Championship football when many other clubs are going after the scraps.

I don't think so. We have no debts, only need to pay stadium mortgage off which is expected to be done for next year. We've not spent a load on transfers, about 3M and compared to other clubs around us that isn't too bad, plus we had the PO final which funded most of that through gate receipts.

Wages may be a problem, but again compared to other teams around us we aren't too bad. The problem won't be financially, it will be having personnel such as Mac and the like being prized away.

If Lancy was in this forum somewhere I'm sure he could prove me wrong though

Bollocks. We're in great form currently but it can't go on for another 12 games. It's incredibly close up there, still anyone's. Five points separate 1st from 6th and then Brentford/Wolves are only 2/3 points further behind.

I'll admit we've given ourselves a shout at automatic promotion but like SUTSS, I still don't think we'll finish top two. Whatever happens though, we should all be treated to an exciting end to the season.

Second faves to win the title now. The winner between us and Derby will take it I reckon.

Wigan and Millwall next. Apart from Blackpool, you couldn't wish for easier games. Then you'll beat us at Carrow Road and either go top, or you'll already be there.

No such thing as an easy game. It would be so typically Championship for us to have beaten Wolves/Watford/Blackburn/Ipswich consecutively and then go on to drop points against Wigan/Millwall. You lot lost to Wigan at home, didn't you?

We did indeed. I'm not sure they'd won all season at the time they did either.

Bent out for a month, and Martin out for AT LEAST another couple of games. :(

Normally I wouldn't wish an injury on any footballer but I feel a few Championship fans of promotion challenging teams will be smiling at that news.

I bet you'd give anything to have Leon Clarke and Best now :tw:

Little bit of a concern to be honest. We have to change our formation to 442 now in my opinion.
Id be inclined to go with Russell and Ward as a front two.

Delighted Bent is injured. He ALWAYS scores against us.

So many of our fans think our season is over. We're top of the league and 12 games to go, yet they still find excuses. Yes we had a bad day and also have some injuries, but most of our players are soon back. If we aren't in the top 2 by after Brum, then I may be concerned but for now there is no reason to panic at all.

Saturday was a bit of a mare with the loss to Fulham, loss of Bent for a month and the news that Thorne is out for a few weeks too but we've still got players capable of dragging us along.

Our season is clearly not over, as our odds to finish in the playoffs look decent regardless. We might just lose a bit of ground. The sooner Martin is back the better.

I've been having a look at upcoming fixtures, there are 11 matches between teams in the top 8 between now and Easter. I'm expecting a lot of changes in the next month!

If Ipswich win and we avoid defeat tomorrow, there'll be just THREE points separating first from sixth! :dk:

Well tonight's results couldn't have gone any worse for us.

5 points clear of the automatic spot 7 days ago, what a shit week for us!

Unless McClaren can sort us out at the back, we're in big trouble of slipping out of the playoff places, never mind the top two.

It's only a week ago (possibly even less), that I declared that we were going to win the league and that I'd believed it to be the case all season.

I'm doubting it a tad, don't know if you can tell?
