Reading are bizarre, it's OK holding the ball and passing in square routines

Easy game

To keep grinding out points against good sides when I'm just about next in line for a run out in centre mid, it's incredibly impressive.

Still only dropped 2 points having taken the lead this year.

Obviously wary of the fact our fixtures on paper become a little easier because that doesn't always mean a lot, but if Wood's injury isn't bad and we get O'Kane and Hernandez back soon, we've more than proved we can be in this for the long haul.

After having a big slip up we certainly look to be back on track and back to our August selves, different sort of game tonight which we ground out and that's exactly the kind of thing we'll need to get used to.

Still a long way to go but exciting stuff and we'll definitely strengthen in January.

Interesting game on Sky on Friday, away at Norwich, very tough game on paper but they have an insanely horrendous record against top half sides.

We're about as held back in the injury situation as you are. Our best three centremids all out, best/only two strikers injured and no left back today.

We have a decent starting 11, but no depth. Which is hardly surprising given that we've finished the last two seasons 17th and 19th. We improved a lot over the Summer with minimal spending, but there is still a lot of improvement to make before we are ready for promotion - Rome wasn't built in a day. We are just happy to be up here, young squad and next season may be more realistic.

Can't comment on this game in particular, but was obvious from our starting 11 that we were going to lose.

Sounds almost identical to us really. Knew there was potential in the side but it's all happened pretty quickly and we have a limited squad. Doing well considering the fact we're missing a few influential players so you never know if we have a bit more luck in the second half of the season with that. Our first XI when fit is good enough but fair play to certain players who've had to step in and kept the results flowing.

Exciting anyway! Still surreal to be this end of the table tbh.

Very exciting, can't wait to drag up the pre-season predictions, almost certain more people had us down for relegation than top half!

Not very confident of making the top 6, but top half is very achievable. We can settle back down to the mid-table thread in February and ride out the season. Hopefully beat Man Utd on the way.

Today was screaming 0-0 but Norwich got their goal, and fair enough to them for that.

6 points off yet again.

We're back into the top 6 with a fairly favourable home game against Rotherham on Saturday...

Wednesdays record against Rotherham at Hillsborough, I mean surely to God Wednesday will finally win one this time. I'm going for a Rotherham score and win just for laugh it's gotta be 12/1 at least

Put it on mate no doubt they'll play like Barcelona when they rock up at Hillsborough.

7 wins in a row. 5 straight clean sheets, and the equal best defence in the league.

This 'terrible' season got awesome very quickly.

We're doing brilliantly, but still miles behind the top two.

missed our chance to go within three points of the playoffs tonight, and it sounds like we have Forest's foreign keeper to blame for that.

Ah well, on to saturday.

Ah well, on to saturday.

Maxwell had more to do than their keeper, we were battered in the second half after Pearson went off.

We're still very much in the mid-table thread until we start performing for the full 90 minutes.

Is it OK to be absolutely fucked off that Derby are above us? Nowt against them or the lads on here but that missed blatant hand ball and red down at theirs could have seen us in 3rd now not 7th.

Bastards.

If we all thought like that every season it would be never ending. It swings in roundabouts , we all get shit decisions for and against its just that football fans never remember the ones for.

I must admit it was a terrible decision from the referee and one you have to wonder if he was genuinely being honest. We've all had them though, what about ours in the premier league in the 1st match where Rob styles gave liverpool a penalty for intent, he basically just made a rule up to help liverpool out. Never been a pen given for that before or after that match.

Nah, Carson would have saved the pen anyway. He doesn't concede.

Long way to go yet... you'll get your fair share of luck.

Just read on our forums that no team that's had 48 or more points from 22 games in the Championship has failed to go up.

Brighton (48) and Newcastle (49) 2016/17
Newcastle (49) 2009/10 - Champions
Reading (53) and Sheffield Utd (49) 2005/6 - Champions and 2nd.

Wouldn't put it past us being the first mind. :D

^ I'm pretty sure we were an exception to some sort of 'always goes up' trend last season, no? Not again, please..

It's got to be brightons season this season. I think we will fall just short of the play offs.

Then for that last play off spot could be for a number of teams.
