In all fairness and I put this on our forum, you are the team to worry about this season. It's all good and well saying Wrexham, Stockport and Notts County have got ££ to spend in January, fact is you ,us and the boredom are sat up there Everyone knows Wrexham are only good for mid table, they'll probably be in the MLS next year anyway.

Hang on, who said we’ve got ££ to spend in January!?! We’d like a very quiet month, it’s you lot trying to sign our players.

Ok, you'll have a few quid when we take Cal Roberts off you. :)

Said it before something feels different this season. We might not get the title but are more than good enough to get in the play offs
"Said it before" huh? When? Last week? You spent the first months of the season telling us Pete Wild still hadn't "learned his lessons", then all of December telling everyone how we were going to crash and burn. In YOUR world as it is now, you've been on board with PW from day 1 and have never doubted he's The Man, when the truth, as recorded by yourself on this forum, is that you thought he was a shit manager when you first showed up here half way through last season, you ridiculed his signings, his selections and his tactics week after week, month after month, in a tone that was laughably intended to convey that YOU were the expert and HE knew nothing, and now, he's hit the top of the League and you've got nowhere to hide. :ds:

Personally ,don't think you even rate as underdogs yet.

There we go.

I'll be the first to admit we've been underwhelming this year. Yet we still are in touching distance of the peerless Halifax and Chesterfield. If we don't really improve then we will probably make the play offs but won't be anywhere near the challenge for the title, but if we do you haven't got that big a lead on us.

I still don't see Halifax winning the league. Chesterfield, Stockport, Notts County and Wrexham all have far more capital to strengthen with for the 2nd half of the season, and it only takes one of these 4 teams to get it right in order to blitz the competition and run away with it. The chances of all 4 failing to strengthen more than Halifax seems low.

That being said, they look good value for a decent play-off position and could take myself and others by surprise. Boreham Wood will fancy themselves also.

Someone just said Halifax won't win the league. You're in for it now.

Don’t know what everyone else is on about but Pete Wild says our first aim every season is to reach 50 points to avoid relegation. And we are still 6 points short of that target. I’m still checking who bottom three are, not top three.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think we’ll win the league. Chesterfield look the team to beat. Only lost 1 game despite a massive injury crisis. They are the favourites imo. I reckon the top 3 in no particular order will be Chesterfield, Wrexham, and Stockport come the end of the season.

The remaining 4 slots could be anyones. For what it’s worth, I’d be disappointed if we didn’t make the playoffs from here. We look more than good enough to compete with the big boys.

Where have this Dagenham come from by the way?

Last time I looked they had lost a million games already and were mid-table with disheveled McMahon rendered clueless. Now I look and they are there poking their noses in the playoffs.

Got players back fit.

Still the best team I've seen us play all season opening day when they were all fit and raring to go.

Dagenham lads on here bemoan their squad depth, results back their theory up when they got a few injuries they did dip.

We're back there again a week on Saturday just as they're all back fit again.

I've just noticed that they've been playing matches secretly every week whilst most other sides have had covid postponements, been weathered out of contention by a tinpotter or been farting about with Cup ties.

They followed Chesterfield’s lead and started just playing Dover and Kings Lynn every week.

Its too early to call the title winners yet as there will be many twists and turns to come.
Personally i don't see us (Wrexham) winning it but i think we have a good chance of 2nd or 3rd.

Hopefully this post does not come back to bite me when we finish 8th by a point.

They're threatening to challenge at the top end for a few weeks out of nowhere but will end up just outside the playoffs. It's all they ever do.

We’ve played more games recently as COVID hit us trophy week and we still managed to scrap together a team for that, playing some injured players too. Also we played a woefully out of form Grimsby and crap Dover twice with Aldershot in between all easy points really. We payed a half decent team in Torquay and only managed a draw which is where we really are despite all except one starter back fit our defence is crap, we will end up scoring 80+ goals but won’t make play offs. We will drop down as soon as others games in hand are played.

We finished near the bottom the previous two years before last seasons 12th so have not been just outside of the play offs regularly as suggested.

Finishing just outside the playoffs is all you ever do, John Still.

Did not expect Barra either, Macclesfield ?
Whoever holds thier nerve will have a chance.

Halifax have as much a chance as any, And made more progress as a club than
Others with more Dosh

Trust me, having supported a club down at this level for longer than most I know all about teams going up despite the odds. This year's more unique than the years those teams went up though. In those years you had 1, maybe 2 teams with the sort of budgets that the 4 clubs I've mentioned before appear to possess. There's more money than ever among the top spending sides in this division which makes it far more likely that at least one team with that sort of budget will make a success out of it.

What I'm trying to say is that Halifax have hit a purple patch in the wrong year, and if they do defy the odds and win the league then that will be more impressive than Sutton, Barrow or Macclesfield's achievements in my opinion.

Can,t argue with that.

Its just we all know what this Lge does to us, We had to work extremely hard and we got the breaks.

Some clubs are depending on finance to solve the dilema, And that could be detrimental to the outcome.

Still have inkling for Halifax though, But everything can still depend on a refs decision right or wrong.
Exciting times, enjoy the ride.

FFS.... 6 months have passed since you scraped your way passed us in that play-off final and you're still rubbing salt in very deep wounds.... I f**king hate Hartlepool and their fans (well, except for those on here, there a decent bunch - that was until they f**cked off from here and starting posting about their fancy dan football in the league 2 forum... ... it's as if they think they are better than us).

This place has become rife with nutters this season mind. It used to be B2TF talking to himself which was enough to handle, but now we have the likes of Carsonsuckscock and whowasfone lurking about (all on ignore of course).

Were the Hartlepool fans keeping the nutters at bay?

Defo no salt from me.
Our team would have been decimated if yous had gone up instead.
There are some really good footballing sides in Lge2, And we are still trying to find our feet.
Its not so much fancy, As getting punished for mistakes.
But they are also some who would struggle in the NatLge.

We also now have a Manager who seems trustworthy, And has the club and players at Heart.
