Going to take a miracle to keep us in the FL.

Hill is a really good manager but we cannot properly compete in this division giving out conference north wages, we just cannot bring in the quality of players that we need.

We don't seem to have any luck this season, struggled with injuries all season and we sign a much needed striker who then tests positive for COVID a day later.

That is an uncalled for comment.
Carlisle were hovering around the relegation area not so long ago and could still be drawn back into the dogfight.
Remember the old adage, 'be nice to those below you in case you meet them on their way back up and above you'

Done and dusted now isn’t it
Not at all although has to be said you and Scunny were the worst teams I've seen this season by a distance. Good luck mind, I take no pleasure in seeing your struggles.

I think it is over for us now. Can’t comment on Scunthorpe so much. Everyone around us has appointed experienced managers and is recruiting new players. We’ve not had a manager in place for over 6 weeks now and are unable to sign anyone due to embargo. The owners are AWOL aside from an embarrassing cameo on TalkSPORT and are the sort that will probably be laughing at another relegation to spite the fans

We're doomed alongside Oldham.

Two traditional FL clubs falling to non-league due to terrible mismanagement, feel like we've seen this story so many times before.

Sorry for biting here.
We may be a shit team now but we've always been a decent club.
Ive been following oldham since 1976 and can't really remember Carlise being all that great throught my time as a supporter.
Seen my utter shit team play in a major cup final, major semi finals, premier league, championship title, championship for many years, and yes league one and now league 2.
Im only 50 but Ive seen oldham in the same league as man utd, liverpool arsenal etc......
All this with 2 of the biggest clubs in the world on our doorstep.
So go Carlisle fan, remind me of your huge acievements in the last 50 years compared to my utter shit team.
I also live in west cumbria so know alot of carlise fans who speak very fondly of watching oldham in the 80s and 90s.
Anyway good luck for the rest of the season carlisle.

Oldham have always been a decent football league club and will hopefully get there act together and start to compete at the right end of the table in the not so distant future. I still remember that great season of 1973/74 when it was us and them going for it all season. Think you just pipped us at the end.

Yeah but it's Carver isn't it, and to be fair, Bottega Don's been taking the piss out of me and HG for the past week for insisting we're not out of danger yet so you can't win sometimes.

Oldham fans have never liked us for some reason. I remember the pleasure you all took when we got relegated to League Two, or Oldham fans signing songs about us going out of business back when that looked likely.

I don't know why it happens and I don't have anything massively against Oldham, their fans are always allowed into the Beehive and those that come in have always been sound and the Oldham fans on here are sound, but once you put a group of Latics in the away end at Brunton Park some kind of critical mass is reached and something comes out to make you think we've done something bad to you at some point down the years.

Oldham and Ipswich by the way are the only clubs of the 72* to have gone longer than we have without a promotion.

*obviously several Premier League clubs have gone even longer but that's not something to complain about for them.

I am pretty sure there has been a couple of issues / incidents over the years between a number of fans from both our clubs, but rest assured the majority of oldham fans past and present will not have any reason to dislike Carlisle. Never been a rival of ours in any sense.

Yes but I'm taking about how things are now mate, not the previous century.

Oh and wow you were once whipping boys in the first Premier League season congratulations.

At least you have proper fans though unlike the jumped up little non league clubs that are topping the division.

I’ve genuinely never heard of any needle between the two teams and certainly no dislike for Carlisle. Maybe before my time but I can’t say I have any ill feeling towards Carlisle whatsoever

We had 3 seasons in the top flight in the 90s not 1....... we were a great team to watch.....
How a carlisle fan can ridicule oldham for being wipping boys in the premier league just shows how immature and uneducated you are.
Were all proper fans mate, whoever we support. Grow up and show some regard for other clubs who are struggling, you never know whats around the corner.

It is of course irrelevant now, but we were never whipping boys

Oldham fans dont really gloat or bragg about our success in the 80s & 90s because it has gone and we know were we are now, whether we like it or not.
But having a fan of Carlisle put us down and ridicule us is a bit much.
We accept, Man u, City will take the pi** out of us but come on, Carlisle ffs.

Our last promotion was the same season too, so that's a new statistic we can use as well.

Can only dream of such heady days now!
Indeed, but yeah I remember now you being in the championship when we'd just gone up to league 1.

Oh well, having a recent promotion isn't necessarily a good thing for all teams. It can mean a recent dip into a lower level, but even then, teams bouncing back from the lowest point can have an edge in momentum over teams who never dropped through the trapdoor.

Not that Carlisle should be *cough* worried about that.

Can’t you remember one Saturday afternoon when Carlisle were top of the First Division ( equivalent of Premier League).

48 seasons ago, yes. ISTR they ended up bottom at the end of the season, though fair play for getting there.

Yes, remember it well.
Carlisle won first three games of season to top table and Alan Ashman, their manager, jokingly said he was considering writing to the Prime Minister asking him to declare a state of emergence, suspend the football season and declare Carlisle Football League Champions. :)
The legendary Bill Shankly, an FA Cup and League Championship winning manager by that time, branded Carlisle's climb to the top as "the greatest feat in the history of the game."

Would rather Stevenage or Colchester coming down, another nearby game
