Ben Whiteman is simply way way way way to good for League 2.

No chance of keeping him I imagine.

Can't seeing us concede another goal this season.

The momentum and squad Evan's has achieved in a short space of time is fantastic, I think you're nailed on for promotion.

Pools had a gilt-edged chance in the 14th minute but messed it up. Seemed like that had to go in to give them a fighting chance. Other than that, as is always the case recently, there was only one team in it and we won at a canter. Don't think they are bad enough to be relegated, we were just a class above. Whiteman is awesome.

What are you basing this opinion on Baratheon? Is it just that you have seen two teams who were somehow worse than us, or did you actually see something on Saturday from us?

That was simply the single worst performance I have ever seen from a Pools team. Embarassing from start to finish. Our run of fixtures from now to the end of the season is horrendous. We only play 1 team from the bottom half of the league at home, and they banged 5 past Grimsby on Saturday.

I'm seriously fearing for our FL status now. 3/1 is FAR too big of a price on relegation for us. I suspect we need 5 wins from somewhere to keep us up. I genuinely don't know where we are going to get 5 goals from, never mind 5 wins.

You weren't good, but no worse than several other sides we've seen this season.

The bottom on the division is smattered with several really poor sides this season. It's been a case of Donny/Plymouth being consistently way better than anyone else; then about eight, inter-changing, scurrying also rans behind them; then a lengthly list of possible relegation candidates from halfway down, who will be saved by the real dirge. Pools will survive due to their okayish home form. The relegated will go down with sub 42 points by my reckoning.

I wish I had your optimism for us. We only have an okayish home form because we've played all of the poorer teams at home. Our home fixtures now are against the sides in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 12th, 18th.

I hope your figure of 42 is correct, but even still I am not sure where the 11 points we would need are coming from.

We've also picked up 2 points away from home since 1st October.

And we now have a manager who has picked the worst player to have ever played league football 4 games in a row. Club is in turmoil.

As Flaxman says there's no way that 50 will be needed to stay up. At the current points per ratio of games it's knocking around 44 or 45 points.

We finished on that 2 seasons ago when we were absolutely dire (the season you stayed up from the dead) and only stayed up thanks to Cheltenham and Tranmere being absolutely shocking.

When will Mansfield be having an open-top parade with the Rakish Bingham trophy? A chance for Mansfield to make amends for the tinpottedness of their last open top parade and hopefully it will be the greatest sporting celebration in Nottinghamshire's history... even eclipsing that time Forest won the European Cup.

I don't think we will get close to 44 or 45 points to be honest. I reckon we may manage another 8 or 9 points, given our fixtures. This would leave us on 39/40 points. We are going to be relying on two teams to do a Cheltenham and Tranmere for us, again. Crossing all my fingers that Orient and Newport can stay shitter than us.

We are waiting until we beat Doncaster so we can show the double off after we win the One Call cup.

Surely the police will want to tie you down to a set date though so that they can allocate a sufficient number of officers, deny all leave requests and draft in extra officers from surrounding forces.

They do that for most home games already!

Well forest won it twice in a row so i reckon we'll have to win the bingham cup three times in a row to come close

I fail to see how some trophy with no connection whatsoever with Rakish Bingham (well other than the fact he designed it and once won it single-handedly) can compete with one carrying the great one's own name.

The council are sticking it in the Market Place, allowing the whole town to use it. That's what proper community clubs on the verge of greatness do. Only selfish clubs would whizz past the population from the top of a bus, with just a glimpse of the prize. This way the public can feel the cold steel of success against our thoroughly fortunate skin.

Also, the great North Notts public only make the effort for true success, like this; the Conference parade took place on a Sunday, when all real Manny folk are far too busy drinking or vaping.
